I woke up feeling better than I’ve ever felt before, I look at the bedside clock to see its past nine in the morning which means that Robert and Rose will be gone already
I pulled the duvet aside and stood up from the bed, I wore my flip flop and went downstairs, to see if they are really gone,
I needed to start showing Robert that I really love him and if I don’t do anything Rose will continue to take him away from me, and one day I might lose him for good
No… I can’t allow that to happen, I started pacing around the living room thinking of a better plan, and then a thought popped into my head, maybe I should show up at Robert’s company and try to support him as his wife
“Yes……” I dance In excitement, loving my new plan
I rushed upstairs immediately and went into the bathroom, I hurried up with my bath and came after which I rumbled through my closet trying to find the perfect outfit for an office attire
At last, I settled for a red gown that stopped just before my knee and hugged my body tightly, I wore a black stiletto and a matching black handbag, I combed my hair and apply light make with red lipstick
“Wow, you look stunning” I complimented myself, feeling happy with the outcome of my looks
I took one of Robert’s car keys and left the room with my stiltheo’s making clicking sounds on the floor, right now I look like one of those boss ladies
I walk to the garage and entered the Lamborghini, I ignited the car to life before driving out of the mansion
It wasn’t long before I arrived at Robert’s company, thank god there was no traffic today.
I parked my car carefully and stepped down before walking into the company
I met the cheerful receptionist
“Hi mam”
“Hi dear, how are you doing?”
“I’m good and you?”
“Awesome” I replied smiling
“Ohh…you ce to see my boss again”
“Exactly….” We both smile loving her retentive memory
“Okay…right now my boss is in a meeting with the Japanese client and it’s a tough one”
“Ohh.. can you please show me the boardroom where the meeting is going on”
“Hmmmmm, sure but are you some important person to my boss”
“Yeah…. kind off” I replied not wanting to tell her I’m his wife cause Robert might not like it
“Okay go straight and there’s a corner by the left you’ll see the boardroom”
“Thank you so much”
“You’re welcome mam” She smiled
I started walking toward the direction given to me by the receptionist, I followed the corner she directed and here I am standing before the board room
I breathed in and out building the courage I needed, and when I’m sure I was ready, I pulled the door open
All attention focused on me, especially Robert who has a frown on his face,
I put on a smiling face and bowled my head
“I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen for coming late, there was heavy traffic,” I said nervously and walk beside Robert and sat down
“What are you doing here?” Robert asked silently with gritted teeth, but that only made me smile more
“Supporting my husband” I winked and turned my attention to the meeting
“Mr. Declan it seems your company doesn’t have what it takes to be awarded this contract”
“But sir the presentation was good” A lady I presumed to be Robert’s Secretary spoke up
I turned to the presentation board and saw that the presentation was an easy one, It didn’t take me up to a second I studied it all
“Yes…the presentation was good but the person that presented it did not define it well”
“Uhmmm, can I get the chance to redefine it please……” I pleaded with the Japanese
“Alright you may go Miss” One of the Japanese said
“Actually it’s Mrs” I smiled at him
“Ohhh…” He muttered taking the correction
Roberts’s attention turned towards me immediately
“Rissa you don’t know anything about this” He groaned
“Don’t underestimate me” I winked at him
I stood up from my seat and walk to the presentation board, which is Tv showing animation for a new business strategy
I began my presentation, showing them the meaning of the new business, the site needed, the importance of it, the benefit and the few disadvantages which can be avoided with precautions, and the immense profit the two companies with being gaining from it
“Wow…. wow….” They all chorus as they all began to clap for me, I look at Robert to see him looking at me in surprise, I felt so proud of myself
One of the Japanese stood up still clapping his hands while others has a contented look on their faces
“Wow Mrs you did a great job and I must commend you’re intelligent, smart, and focussed, I like your breed and your presentation was smooth and sweet keep it up”
“Thank you sir” I muttered with my head bowled
“Congratulations Mr. Declan your wife’s incredible performance has just earned you the contract without any problem, looking forward to working with you,” An elderly Japanese woman said to Robert
“Thank you so much” Robert shook hands with her.
I watched as they signed the contract and started taking some pictures before they started leaving
Minutes later the whole room was empty with only me and Robert left
“Follow me,” Robert said and walked out of the room, I hurried behind him since he was walking at a fast pace, he entered his office and slammed the door on my face
“Gosh, what have I done?” I muttered slowly and pulled the door open
“What was that nonsense you pulled there?”
I scratched my neck nervously not getting what he’s saying
“Ehmm…what do you mean?”
“Shit…” He banged on the table loudly
I watched him walk toward his seat, he rested his two hands on the table with his gaze focussed on me
“Today you let the whole board of directors know you’re my wife and you think it’s funny?”
“Who the fuck even asked you to give that presentation?”
I sighed seeing how upset he is, I thought he was happy
“Aren’t you happy, I thought you would be proud of me” I muttered walking close to him but he stopped with a raise of his hand
“Why is it too hard for you to realize how much I hate your mere presence”
“Robert I love you”
“That’s the problem!!!” He screamed throwing his laptop across his office, it fell and shattered together
I stepped back in fear seeing the anger emitting from his body
“Do.. do you hate me this much?”
“Get out…”
“Robert I’m sorry”
“Get out before I do something we’ll both regret”
“Robert….”
“Get out…..!!” He yelled
“Fine…..” I said calmly and left his office.
