The bell has rang moments after Delilah walked away.
Koyla and I went to class and the teacher came in almost immediately.
We started the class and I wish there’s a way I could see Delilah.

“And like I said earlier, drug abuse could lead to premature death, dizziness….”the teacher went on talking.
My mind drifted back to Delilah and I sighed.

“Hey. Did you have any idea why styopa would call Delilah?”I whispered to koyla and she shook her head.
I sighed and turned to the class and paid rapt attention to the lecture.

“The reason we’re asked to enlighten you on this topic is for you to know the effects of hard drugs so you wouldn’t make any mistake which can lead to a sudden death in the nearest future”the teacher rounded up.
She arranged her textbook and glance around in the class.
“Where’s your class president?”she asked and a tall guy stood up.
“Wait, didn’t I see you smoking cigarettes at the back of the school yesterday?”she asked and the guy shook his head vigorously.
“I think it’s you, anyway meet me in the staffroom when you guys have a free period”she said.
“Yes ma’am”a dulcet tone replied and she walked away.

The Literature teacher came in immediately after she left.
“Good afternoon, students. I gave you an assignment to write a poem but only few of you passed”he said grumpily as the students greeted him.
“Anyway, the ones who never did my assignment are in deep sh it”he said as he placed his textbook on the table.
The students started murmuring as he brought out a a sheet of paper.
“Denise Williams”he called out and the girl with the name stood up.
“Sir?”
“Come out”he rasped.
The Denise – girl walked out and he gave her six strokes of cane.

My heart skipped as the piercing scream of Denise.
I never did the assignment also, I mean, koyla said is not necessary since I’m new here.
“Koyla, won’t I be punished, I didn’t do the assignment”I asked and she shook her head.
“I really gat you, don’t worry”she smiled.
He asked Denise to kneel down in front of the class after spanking her.
He went on calling names and my my heart beat increased as he flogged the students.
“Raquel Huxley”he called and my heart stopped beating.
I glanced at koyla with s teary face.
I don’t want to get spank.
I stood up as koyla spoke.
“Sir, she’s a new student”she said.
“Really?, don’t they taught them poem from where she’s coming from?”he asked.
My hands were visibly shaking.

“Don’t but me Koyla, simply because she’s a new girl doesn’t mean she shouldn’t work on my assignment”he interrupted.
“Now, come here, new girl, you can’t be lazy in my class”
A tear dropped from my face as I walked over to him.

“You Know what, just get out of my class. I don’t feel like beating you again with that your tears”he said and I rushed out of the class immediately.

I released a relief sigh.
I walk back the students that were asked to kneel infront of the class and they glared at me, especially Denise.
I ignored them and took my time walking around.
I walk till I get to a large room.
Hmm.
I peeked inside and realized it was the staffroom.
But it looks like a banquet hall.
Well, it seems like all the teachers are here.
I moved away from there and walk to another direction.
This is fun!
Thank God I didn’t taste the master cane.
I snapped out of my reverie when I got to a door which have a*restricted area*note on.
I started hearing some voices and paid attention.
*C’mon, repeat that song, I really love it*a voice said.
A sound from a keyboard started playing and I moved closer to the door.

A soft voice sang and I felt my heart dropped inside my mouth.
