She didn’t say a word, but looked at Ella for a moment before glancing away and heading out.
But when she approached Ella, she stopped and turned to face her.
At once, Ella sprang to her feet from where she had been seated. She turned around to face the woman, raising her eyebrows in bafflement.
“Why do you appear so peaceful, while you’re a storm?” Tonny continued, her eyes a combination of ice and fire. ” How could you be so feeble when you are the mightiest of the living? ”
“I envision you cutting off the heads of many, bringing the powerful to their knees, and sending chills down the spines of mankind just by saying your name. Your outward appearance of naiveté is deceptive. I don’t recognize you. ”
Ella’s heart was so tight in her throat that she couldn’t even swallow her food in one go.
Her body shivered as she listened to what seemed like a nightmare. How does she…. Exactly what is she referring to?
Tonny turned around and walked out of the room without saying another word.
Exactly what… what was she referring to?
As she stood there gazing at the closed door, she struggled to take in the words: *Why do you appear so innocent, when you’re not?
* Her first inquiry kept playing back in her mind. To clarify, what did she mean by that?
Perhaps she mistook her for someone else.
The door sprang open and there walked Jeremy’s Herbalist.
They came prepared with food and water, saying, “My daughter arrived already? ” She gulped hard and moved closer to the wall, her palm on her chest, as the Herbalist requested after observing the bowl on the floor. Both the King’s treatment and the woman’s words competed for her undivided attention.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get the words out of her brain. She remained like that for a long time and missed the Herbalist’s completion of the King. “Now, what next? ”
“We’ll simply give him time,” Jeremy said, glancing at the King, who seemed to be sleeping. A comforting “He’ll be OK” was the Herbalist’s response.
After Ella had listened to them and was relieved that the King was going to be okay, she said, “I’ll take my departure now.”
The moment her gaze fell upon the window, she was struck by its utter darkness. There was absolutely no way that they could have ridden back to the palace at that hour.
“Clearly, tomorrow would be too soon. ”
“Queen Ella,” Jeremy abruptly exclaimed, turning to face her. She wasn’t sure whether her imagination was running wild, or if she was indeed picking up on a hint of sarcasm in his tone. “Since we have nothing here, I trust you can survive on empty stomachs for the night. “Of… Of course,” Ella sputtered. She’s had worse hunger pangs at home with her family.
“Good. “He then left, leaving Ella and the King alone in the chamber. She sighed heavily as she dragged her tired legs over to the chair beside the bed and sat down. Indeed, she kept her gaze fixed on the King the whole time, carefully monitoring his restful breathing.
Is it possible he wasn’t really sleeping?
She thought he was just unconscious and fidgety.
AT THE PALACE*****************
The monarch, Queen Natasha, was seen looking into space while perched on the balcony, her wooden wine cup in hand. She felt a bit more bundled up as the chilly wind slashed at the hem of her dress.
Of course, it was enormous, so none of her flesh showed. It was nighttime, and Natasha loved looking at the sky. Oh! The full moon would arrive shortly. *You’ll never amount to anything more than your mother!
She took a swig of wine in a rage at those comments.
“Urgh! “How likely was it that she’d be able to forget about it?
Natasha sneered, rolled her eyes, and turned to find Olivia standing in front of her, saying, “Aren’t you ashamed of yourself, Natasha? The King has yet to come, and his lovely wife stands at the balcony, drinking some wine like a guest. You make it seem like nothing bothers you, but I really need to know what the issue is, Olivia. ” Natasha exploded.
As soon as the King saw you, he knew he had to have you. However, Olivia said, “You still can’t give him what he wants,” which caused Natasha to stare at her.
“The King left on horseback for a meeting this morning and hasn’t returned yet. But it seems that you couldn’t give a hoot. Have you ever been of any use? ”
“Well, why don’t you get on a horse and go look for him?”
“I know, I know, ” Natasha rolled her eyes. In all honesty, she had been considering the same thing. In fact, she had been waiting on the balcony all this time for their return.
As someone once said to Natasha, “You’ve always been too pitiful. ” Olivia turned around and said, “Now I know I was never incorrect to have claimed the King made a big mistake in being married to you.
“When are you going to get over being resentful of me and accept the truth that you’re not the King’s sole female consort? ”
Natasha questioned, and Olivia paused in her stroll without looking at her.
“Let’s simply wait till I have a son and make the King a father again. Olivia, I swear to you that I will humiliate you. ”
“Never in a million years! ”
Olivia’s head swiveled around to meet her gaze, and her eyes burned with anger.
“Really? “. Laughing, Natasha turned and left.
