“I assume that tonight Ella will be sleeping on your bed. “Asked Viscar.
His response was a simple “Yes,” and he settled into his seat.
“Spenser, why did you have to marry her?” His inquiry was direct. “And by that I mean that she has no control over anything at all. You must agree that this is not good for your professional standing, right? ”
“Don’t worry about it, Viscar; she wouldn’t be useful around here anyhow. “He stopped to pick up a sheet from the table.
After saying, “Here,” he gave it to Viscar.
These are the assignments I have for you and my other brother, Jeremy. Collaborate closely with him to accomplish your goals. Taking a quick look, Viscar scanned the whole list.
As you command, My King. Viscar started to say, “I’ll see him soon,” but he paused.
“My King,” he said. For the next general meeting, which of your spouses do you plan to bring?
This is where all wolf packs’ Alphas and vampire clan Lords come together. It was supposed to happen the next day, but it was pushed back three days due to unforeseen circumstances.
Once every three full moons, all Alphas are required to gather with their Queens for a highly important gathering.
It’s too soon to tell, Viscar. Spenser said nonchalantly, “I’ll figure it out,” picking up a blank scroll and inching closer to it with his inked feather. When Viscar found out that his friend desired some alone time, he let him go to work. With a bow, he said, “I’ll take my leave now,” and he walked out.
Ella’s pulse was pounding wildly as she stood in front of the glass.
The sun had long since set, and she was well aware that night would soon fall.
It seemed like she couldn’t stop her hands from sweating.
“You have three nights,” kept repeating in her mind.
Three nights’ worth of sleep. And now, after what seemed like an eternity, the three days and nights in question were at last here. Not even the King would be able to keep her out of his bed tonight. It was inevitable that she would finally lose her virginity to him. Could this have been the deciding factor?
She felt thirsty out of the blue and glanced about, but there was none to be seen. Oh! In addition, there was no housekeeper in sight.
Leaving to get a drink of water, she stepped out of the room. Because of her anxiety, she couldn’t think clearly.
As she made her way down the corridor, she was welcomed by two housekeepers. Apparently, however, just one of them did.
The other person looked at her completely blankly. Even if she did have a valid marriage with the King, it was never publicly declared, thus she has no right to complain if someone treats her with disdain. From her perspective, she was merely there to serve as a punishment. And that’s probably how everyone else sees her, too.
She has spent the last two days doing nothing more exciting than staying inside and glancing out the window whenever she feels the urge for fresh air or a glimpse of the city’s bustling population. That’s the type of dull existence she’s lived to date. Normally, she would start thinking about how to get away, but this time, she started thinking about what may happen if she were ever caught. The King was well-connected, so even if she tried to hide somewhere else, he would eventually locate her. She didn’t want to further complicate her situation.
When she reached the end of the hall, she saw Queen Natasha coming in her direction, and her anxiety levels skyrocketed. Oh! She was adamant about staying away from life in general.
She approached her with her eyes firmly fixed on the ground, her maid close on her heels.
When they finally caught up, she bowed before the queen and said, “Greetings, My Queen.”
“What makes you think I’ll respond to a welcome from some poor? “Natasha inquired, sneering, as she came to a halt. Likewise, Ella swiveled to face her.
“You should have some sense of your place in society, you pathetic little worm. A visit to the palace does not automatically bestow royalty status. And I suggest you keep your distance from me. Just try to measure up to my expectations first. “With a huff and a frown, she went away.
Ella stood and watched her go, her heart aching from what she had heard.
She choked back the cries that were attempting to escape her throat.
She heard a voice say, “I told you to always mind your business,” and turned to find Queen Diana approaching her.
She fought back a tear with a sniff and a flutter of her eyelids.
‘I told you; that’s the only way I’ve managed to live in here – by constantly minding my business,’ Diana said. “I know. I… For fear of offending her, I refrained from offering a hello. Ella fumbled for words, attempting to steady her shaky voice. Diana gave her a warm grin and patted her on the back.
Just relax. In any case, where did you plan on going? Quietly, she questioned.
“To um… In the meanwhile, go grab some water. Ella snorted, “I was simply thirsty.”
“Oh! Just follow me, and I’ll give you some in my room. At that moment, they turned around and were ready to leave when they heard a voice say:
“Ella the Queen!”
When Ella finally did look around, she saw a security guard. Oh, no….
They stood in front of Ella, and the armed guard walked purposefully toward him, stopping when he got there.
“Salutations, Your Majesty, “he bowed to Diana.
Diana waved and said, “Greetings to you too.”
Then he faced Ella and said, “The King wants you in his apartments.”
