Jack sat on his chair behind his large office table. His laptop was on switched on and placed in front of him while different documents were littered on his table. He looked tired, his sleeve were rolled mid arm and the first two button of his shirt were left open. He typed away into his laptop with every bit of concentration.
He had come into the office at his usual time, early and prompt. He had sealed the contract deal and now, it was time for some paper works. He had been working on his laptop for over two hours now and was almost done. He finished working on the documents and emailed it to his secretary who was to send it to Holt Inc.
“Check your email. I’ve sent a document, forward it to the client.” He said into the telephone after the call had connected.
“Yes sir.” She replied from the other side of the call and he dropped the call, relaxing into his chair. It was still morning and his work for the day had just ended. He had woken up some minutes past four am and left Karen’s house. He made the thirty minutes drive to his house in silence, different thoughts running through his already confused mind, but most of them were about Karen. The image of her naked body and the way it synced with his’ was very clear in his head. He was addicted to her, to her body.
Since leaving her house that morning, he was yet call her or send a text and coupled with the fact that he didn’t drop a note, he was sure she was worried for him. His phone rang on the table and he picked it up, a bit of disappointment crossed his face, but disappeared almost immediately as he stared briefly at the caller.
“Good morning mum.” he greeted respectfully as his mother’s voice came up from the other end of the call.
“How are you my boy?” His mother asked and he almost face palmed himself. He had told his mother to stop calling him “boy” but as they say, old habits die hard. She had been calling him that for almost the whole of his life and now that he was all grown up, she couldn’t stop calling him that.
After speaking on phone with his mother for more than ten minutes, she dropped the call. She had called to inquire about his well being. It had been over a month since they last spoke or saw each other and her natural mother side was kicking in. He dropped the phone back on the table and few minutes later, it rang again, but this time, it was a call from Karen.
“Heyy, Good morning.” She greeted enthusiastically.
“Good morning” he replied in his deep baritone voice.
“How are you doing? I just wanted to check up on you.” she stated and his lips curved into a smile.
“I’m fine. After last night, I should be very okay. I’m at the office right now. How are you doing?” He asked, his voice unusually calm.
They spoke on the call for less than ten minutes and after dropping the call, he walked out of the office.

Damian walked into his hotel room from the balcony with a stick of cigarette between his lips. He wore a black leather short that exposed a bit of his Calvin Klein boxers. His upper body was left exposed, making his tattoo visible enough under the blue background light. He walked over to a cushion chair and sat, flipping his laptop open and turning it on. He typed in some numbers with his right hand, while his left hand held a glass of alcohol. He dropped his glass of the table and picked up the laptop, leaning back comfortably on the chair.
He opened the search engine and typed in “Karen Smith.” Few days ago, he had seen some news about her on the television and though he had left her some years ago, seeing her on television stirred something in him. Her details loaded few seconds later and he scrolled through the list of different items that appeared, before clicking on one that interested him the most. It was about Karen’s relationship with Jack. He read through the blog post and clicked on everything picture that accompanied it. His jaw clenched as he stared at a particular photo where Karen stood in a close embrace with Jack, smiling sweetly at him.
After leaving Los Angeles years ago with the promise of coming back, he had gotten so stucked up with work that he felt returning was unimportant but after seeing what she had been able to achieve for herself, he felt he needed to be there with her. Not for the money though, he was still obviously richer than her. He knew Jack. He was one of the richest guy in Los Angeles and the whole of California. He was from a rich family, and for that, he hated him. He closed the search tabs and opened his bank apps. He had a total of seventy five million dollars across five different accounts all bearing different names and identities. He had been in the crime organization for some years now in which he had gathered quite a fortune for himself and he was hoping to move on, but first, he had one more thing to do.
Karen walked into the little building that served as her office. Her car was parked conveniently outside the building. She walked past the secretary that was seated at the front desk as she walked towards her office. She had bought the building few weeks back and was gradually growing her brand that she was set to launch soon. She had acquired some assets towards the launch of her fashion magazine company. Her blog was recently ranked as the biggest fashion blog in California and it was safe to say that in few months, she was already one of the richest women in the city.
Her personal assistant walked into her office few minutes after she had taken a seat. Her assistant was a beautiful twenty two year old Jasmine who had just graduated from business school.
“Good morning ma. These are the documents you asked me to prepare.” she stated, placing the bunch of documents that were arranged in a file in a document. She was a beautiful girl with blue eyes and a silk brown hair. She made a great fashion sense, and that was one of the things that attracted Karen to her.
“I still need you on the front page of the magazine when we launch.” Karen stated, looking up at her as she stared down.
“I can’t, ma.” She pleaded, fiddling with her fingers nervously.
“Why? You’re very beautiful and you’ve got great fashion sense. I still think this is your opportunity.” Karen tried to woo her, but she didn’t budge.
She walked out of Karen’s office few minutes later, and Karen opened her laptop and starting working. She knew owning a fashion magazine brand was a very big project that needed great financing so she decided to start small. She would start by launching twice a month that would cover only Los Angeles and California. She was hoping to get sponsors and investors that would help her expansion.
Jack’s private jet landed at the at his personal suite in his hotel in New York. He was traveling to New York to start his expansion project on his hotel and was supposed to stay for a few days. It had been more than a week since that night with Karen at her house and since then, he had gone on different dates with her and had invited her over to his house for the first time since they met. He wasn’t used to entertaining visitors in his house, but he did it to show her that she was special.
The past few days had been great for both of them and he was slowly forgetting about his revenge plan. They’ve gone intimate few times too and though none of them had said anything official about it, it already felt like they were in a relationship.
Karen had put up all her plans together and was ready to launch her magazine. On one of the nights they spent together, she had informed Jack about her plans and his initial shock was clearly evident.
“Wow. Wow. You planned all these alone?” He asked after his initial shock had faded.
“Yes, I did. Is it too much?” She replied, suddenly feeling nervous. It was the first time of telling someone else her plan and she really hoped he liked it.
“It’s perfect.” He finally stated and she smiled.
“Thanks.” She laid still on the bed, her head on his broad chest, one of their hands interwined as he stroked her hair softly.
That was some days ago, and she was now set for launch and she could only hope that everything goes according to plan.
