Jack drove through the beautiful brightly illuminated street that led to Karen’s house. She now lived in one of the expensive and luxurious estate in Los Angeles. Not the most expensive, but one that was definitely high classed. He listened to the tunes that played from the car stereo as he droved composedly along the now less busy road, bumping his head occasionally to his favourite parts of the songs. He slowed down and diverted into the smaller road that cut off the highway and led to the estate she lived. His mind wandered to the different events that had gone down in his life in the past months before settling on Karen.
“It was meant to just be a little publicity show to help me and show I’ve fallen in love with him and I can’t even tell him the truth. I’m fucked up.” Her words replayed in his mind and he gripped the steering wheel tightly, shutting his eyes tight in the process. His knuckles turned white as his face hardened. He opened his eyes and his demeanour displayed hurt and pain. He clinched his teeth lightly as he picked up his phone and unlocked it. It was about five minutes left untill eight on the dot meaning he still had few minutes to himself. He remained inside the car and stared out at Karen’s house. The light of her sitting room was on, informing him of her presence inside the house. He waited for few minutes before he stepped out with a rose flower in his hand. He took slow robotic steps to her porch and rang the doorbell once and waited patiently. He heard shuffling of feet inside the room before the door was unlocked by Karen who stood behind the door, a bright, cheerful smile displayed boldy on her face. He stared at his gold wrist watch that was on his left hand one last time before staring up at her. She was dressed in a red dinner dress that hugged her body perfectly, showcasing all het curves. The gown had a tiny hand with a deep V neckline that exposed a sufficient amount of cleavage. Her boobs were held in place by a little amount of cloth that tried hard and failed to cover the enormous amount of flesh. Her gown flowed down with a large slit from mid thigh down to her legs that were fitted into black well sculpted heels.
“Hello.” She called with a heart warming smile on her face, breaking both of them out of their train of thoughts he realized he had been staring at her for more than five minutes.
He took a quick sweep of her appearance again before returning to staring at her. He handed the flower over to her and she received it with a bright smile before stepping out from the room.
“You look really beautiful today.” he complimented, speaking for the first time since he arrived. She blushed violently as they both walked towards his car that was parked in front of her car.
He opened the passenger seat in front and she slipped in. He slammed the door shut before turning around to the driver’s seat and going in. He closed the door gently and kicked the engine to life. Taking one last look at the beautiful model beside him, he finally drove out.
“You look very handsome tonight.” she complimented after they had driven for some minutes. They had driven in an uncomfortable silence since they left her house and she decided to break it.
“Thank you.” he answered curtly, flashing her a smile. She held gaze with him for some seconds in which she smiled brightly before he broke the gaze to focus back on the road. He increased the volume of the soft pop music that was playing lowly from the speakers in the car. He remained focused on the road as he drove past some cars while some overtook him. One hand was placed on the steering wheel, a foot on the brake pedal while the other hand laid lazily on Karen’s thigh.
She tried maintaining her composure as she felt him drop his hand on her thighs. She looked out through the shut window ad she stared at the different buildings Jack droved past. Her mind raced as her heart beat increased and became louder. His hand on her thighs was, though static, was making her feel things. He moved his hand slowly down to her knee and she looked at his face to catch a serious expression that was focused on the road, acting oblivious to what he was currently doing to her. She returned her gaze outside the car, ignoring his actions.
They drove in and found an available space in the parking lot of one of the biggest and expensive dinner restaurant in the city. He eased his car to the spare space and killed the engine before removing the key. He quickly stepped out in a quick movement and jammed his door before rushing to the other side to open the door for his date. He did the gentleman act and opened the door, enough for her to get out of the car. She placed her hand in his’ and he took few seconds to feel her palm. It was soft and delicate. As soft as that of a baby. Her skin care products were really doing enough on her already beautiful skin.
They walked together to the restaurant, side by side. A beautiful, sought after millionaire model and the richest and most eligible bachelor in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, they were not connected by love. Or at least, not in the thoughts of the billionaire.
They took their seats by a corner at the restaurant. Jack sat across Karen on the small round table that was decorated with a beautiful table cloth and a vase that contained a very beautiful flower that laid at the center. He took the bottle of wine that was on the table and opened it before turning a measurable quantity into two glasses and serving themselves. They starting chit chatting and soon, they were interrupted by the waiter who came to take their order. They both picked up the menu from the table and went through it.
“I’ll have the best meal on the menu.” Karen placed her order after she had ran her eyes through the menu for a few seconds. The female waiter who was dressed smartly in the usual white shirt tucked into a black trouser smiled beautifully at her before turning to Jack. He placed his order for his meal and the waiter left, promising to return under thirty minutes. They both returned to their glasses, before Karen decided to speak up.
“I haven’t seen you in a long while. How are you doing?” she asked with a genuine smile and he scoffed lightly, reminding himself that she wasn’t in love with him. She was just playing him.
“I’ve been perfect. Work has been taking my time, but I love it.” he replied and she nodded, her expression, changing slowly. His utterance meant that he didn’t miss her. They had spent many days apart and he didn’t even miss her. Tch!
“I can see that you’ve been going very great for yourself lately.” he appraised her, making her smile again.
“It hasn’t been easy, but I’m fulfilled.” she replied, taking a sip from her glass.
“You should be, after all, you used me. “He almost made the comment, but stopped himself and went to drinking from his glass. They continued talking and drinking and after more than thirty minutes, their orders arrived.
They spent the following twenty minutes digging into their food and after twenty minutes, they were done. The waiter returned to clear the table while they sipped from their glasses.
“Thank you for today. It means a lot to me.” Karen stated and he smiled in response. His first genuine smile that evening. They soon got talking about business, everything that was going on in the business world. Jack told her few of the things he had to face as CEO while she listened attentively.
“Lets get going.” Jack stated, looking at his diamond wristwatch. It was minutes past 10 PM, meaning they had spent over two hours at the restaurant. He signaled for the waiter to come over and she came with the bill. He made payment with his card, leaving a fat tip for her. She smiled widely as she thanked them multiple times.
“Thank you once again for today. I really had a great evening.” Karen thanked him again after he pulled up in front of her house, dropping her off.
“I had a great time too.”
“Come in for coffee. ” She offered and he paused and looked at her, deliberating. “Please.” She pleaded ad he took long to make up his mind.
“Fine.” He sighed, giving in. They walked into the house and she locked the door behind her.
