Lola’s pov,
Lola reluctantly opened her eyes wondering what woke her up. Adrenaline immediately pumped through her body when she saw she woke up from her ring lighting up brightly.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” she whispered while her heart was beating rapidly. She carefully slid out of Noah’s embrace without waking him up. Her hands were trembling while she got dressed and she felt nervous and angry. She had been so occupied with the changes and falling in love that she allowed herself to completely forget why she ended up here in the first place.
She quickly took her jacket and closed the door without making a sound. When she came outside, she ran into the forest until she felt she was far enough from the house. She took a moment to calm her breathing before she took the ring in her hands and said, “Lola.”
A hologram projection of Feline erupted from the ring which scared her so much that she dropped it.
She quickly picked it up again and said, “Sorry I did not expect to see you.”
Feline smiled at her, “Hello Lola. It has been a while since we inserted you with the werewolf DNA and we would like an update on how you are doing.”
Lola swallowed nervously, “Yeah about that. The DNA never worked so I never transformed into a werewolf. So, I wasn’t able to find any werewolves. Sorry.”
Feline narrowed her eyes, “Why didn’t you come back then? We could have tried injecting you again.”
“I know that is what I should have done, and I apologize for wasting your time. I ended up meeting a backpacker and I fell in love. The truth is that I have been too busy traveling and falling in love.”
Feline started laughing loudly and Lola slowly started to feel uncomfortable, “What’s so funny?”
Feline her smile disappeared, “Honestly, I thought you were the smart one of the 4. I thought you would have it figured out by now but clearly not. You can cut the bullshit, Lola. I know exactly where you are.”
Lola’s body slowly went cold, and she stuttered, “What do you mean?”
Feline rolled her eyes, “You are a werewolf by birth Lola. The only thing we injected in you was a tracking device. So, by lying to me you not only missed out on a million dollars you also led us straight to them. We always knew exactly where you were, we just needed some time to find out how many werewolves lived in these borders exactly. In fact, we will be there in 5 minutes to wipe out your stinking species once and for all.”
The hologram started to stutter and then completely disappeared. Lola stared at the ring in total shock when she noticed the trees started to move from a strong wind. Not long after she heard the sounds of helicopters in the distance.
“NO, NO, NO! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” Lola started screaming. She could not believe how stupid she had been. Because of her everyone, she cared about in the pack would die. If she only would have been honest with Noah…
Her whole body felt like it was on fire and sudden sharp pain cut through her. Her scream turned from angry to scared when the pain hit her like a brick wall. Soon her vision went blurry until there was only black.
Noah’s pov,
Noah woke up feeling still ecstatic over the fact that Lola told him she loved him. He just wanted to wrap his arms around her even tighter when he noticed he was hugging thin air. Confused he patted the bed looking for the shape of his tiny mate.
“WE HAVE TO LOOK FOR HER.” Achak immediately howled worried.
Noah sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, “Calm down. She probably just went to the toilet.”
He waited but after a little while he also got worried and went out to look for her. He just walked into the kitchen when he heard her scream loudly. His senses were immediately alert, and his nose told him she went outside.
He stormed out the door and got hit in the face with a strong wind and a loud buzzing sound that came from the air. He looked at the sky and saw little lights coming closer in the distance. He had no time to wonder what it was because he heard Lola scream again. This scream was much higher, and his body filled with fear.
He ran toward the sound and couldn’t believe his eyes when Lola transformed right in front of him. His throat went dry when he looked at the massive red wolf whose ember eyes seemed to stare right into his soul. At that moment he knew where he had seen those eyes before, it flashed right before his eyes: the image of him pushing the Fire Wolf baby into the river.

In the coming 3 books the other 3 main characters will go into the worlds of Fae, Witches and Vampires. Lola her story will continue in the 5th book when all the characters stories intertwine again.
