After a long time of dressing herself up, Ding Manman takes Ding Qi out of the house.
On their way to the cinema, Ding Manman looks at Ding Qi and says, “Qiqi, today shouting at you was not my intention, and nor did I dislike going to the movies with you. I was just in a bad mood at that moment, and could you forgive me?”
Ding Qi has already forgiven his sister who agreed to accompany with him to the cinema, but he says seriously with a sullen face, “Okay, sister, I forgive you, because ‘a great man rarely stoops to pettiness or harbors grievance for past wrongs.'”
Ding Manman echoes: “All right, Qiqi, I admit that I did wrong, and I will never do that again. I feel so worried without a simile from you.” With these words, Ding painfully puts her hand on her chest to amuse her little brother.
Watching his sister’s poor acting, Ding Qi cannot help breaking into laughter and says, “My silly sister, actually I have already forgiven you.”
“You are my good brother, really!” Ding Manman reaches out and hugs Ding Qi into her arms.
In a while, they arrive at the appointed place.
Fang Hao has not arrived yet. With a fear of heatstroke in the scorching sun, Ding Manman takes Ding Qi to a nearby restaurant where she orders some cakes and iced beverage for him.
After almost half an hour, Fang Hao arrives late.
At the sight of Fang Hao, Ding Manman gets excited. She wants to narrate in his arms what she has encountered in the past few months. What’s more, she hopes to ask him for forgiveness, not only for Ding’s company but also for years of love.
However, Ding Manman notices An Ya who is behind Fang Hao. She looks into the sarcastic eyes of An Ya which are like those of Zhong Shaoting. Their eyes convey alike that Ding is an impure girl who will no longer deserve Fang Hao.
Ding Manman suppresses her emotions, watching the seeming couple—Fang Hao and An Ya— approaching.
An Ya comes over and holds Ding’s hand chummily, saying “Manman, are you unhappy to see me? Why don’t you smile, do I disturb your appointment? Oh, I’m so sorry. You know that last time I saved Fang Hao’s mother, from then on she usually invites me home with kindness and hospitality. By coincidence, I was in auntie’s home today. Thus, Auntie Fang asked Fang Hao to take me out. Won’t you mind, right?”
Ding Manman reluctantly twitches the corners of her mouth, and says with duplicity: “Yes, it doesn’t matter, I don’t mind!”
“All right, stop greeting here, aren’t we going to watch the movie? Let’s go inside. Qiqi, come to me!” says Fang Hao.
Hearing Fang’s words, Ding Manman feels pain in her heart. So, Fang Hao still minds that she is not a virgin, and he doesn’t want her anymore. In the past, he used to call himself brother-in-law in front of Qiqi.
Ding Manman tries to clear her mind, and follows them into the cinema.
The big screen of the cinema presents the list of recently popular movies. Qiqi is too young to watch romantic movies, so they choose a heroic movie.
The child is really sensitive. At the sight of An Ya, Qiqi is unwilling to get close to An Ya, and he keeps asking Ding so many questions, which deprives Ding of time to talk to Fang Hao.
Unfortunately, this gives An Ya a good opportunity to get close to Fang Hao, which is a great disappointment to Ding Manman, depriving her of courage to talk more with Fang Hao.
The movie is about to begin. Ding Manman buys some popcorn and drinks for Ding Qi, and shares some with Fang Hao and An Ya, after which they four enter the film-house.
After settling Ding Qi well in his seat, Ding Manman gets seated. Fang Hao is about to sit at the seat besides Ding Manman, but An Ya takes the initiative to sit there quickly, and says hypocritically, “Oh, I haven’t seen Manman for a long time, so I want to sit by her side. You guys don’t mind, right?”
Ding Manman is disillusioned with the situation. Although she wants to take this opportunity to explain to Fang Hao, she feels sorry to refute An Ya after hearing her words, so she gives a stiff nod of assent,
Then, An Ya casts her glance at Fang Hao. Naturally, Fang Hao isn’t a mean man to argue with a girl about the seat.
After they are seated, the movie begins.
The is a war movie. At the climax, a soldier sacrifices himself order to protect his country.
At the touching part of the movie, a crying voice comes from An Ya. In order to hide her courtship intention, An Ya firstly leans on Ding Manman. However, Ding Manman subconsciously avoids her lest An will notice the scars on her body left by Zhong Shaoting, which will give An a good opportunity to get close to Fang Hao.
An Ya who pretends to be moved to tears immediately turns to lean on Fang Hao, and says softly:”Brother Fang, 555… you see that the solider is so loyal. I feel not only proud of him but also so sorry for him.
Fang Hao wants to push An away, while she suddenly hugs him so tightly. Fang Hao dares not to get rid of her vigorously, fearing that Ding Manman will notice the hug, and An will speak out their sexual intercourse. If Ding Manman knows this, she won’t forgive him even though he won’t mind Ding’s non-virginity. After all, Ding Manman and An Ya were best friends at school.
On second thoughts, Fang Hao pats An’s back, comforting her: “It’s okay, it’s okay, don’t cry, this is just a movie. He isn’t dead.”
“Brother Fang, I know, I know that he is not killed. I feel sorrowful not for his death, but for his determination to give up everything for the country.
“Brother Fang, you also know that I like you. I fell in love with you since we were students. I am willing to give up everything for you. Please don’t push me away now. Let me embrace you, just an embrace.” An Ya says emotionally.
“An Ya, I won’t agree with anything that my mother promised you. I don’t know when you start calling me brother, please don’t call that anymore. It’s really inappropriate. Please release me, you know my thoughts, please do not put much time on me!” Fang Hao says indifferently.
At his words, An Ya feels too embarrassed to hold him.
She wipes away her tears, and continues to watch the unfinished movie silently.
Ding Manman has seen all, with a sneering smile on her face. She turns around to take care of Ding Qi. She still remembers the purpose of this trip, and she must find an opportunity to talk with Fang Hao and persuades him to give the Dings a hand through difficult times.
