Book:Beloved by the Hardhearted Avenger Published:2024-5-1

At this instant, although Ding Manman is no longer under Zhong Shaoting’s control, she still can’t help thinking about hiding from him. The impressions of being in captivity for several months are so indelible that Ding even ignores An Ya’s voice. Then, An Ya, who knows that Ding Manman is sometimes extremely credulous but usually strong-minded, turns round curiously to look for the person whose arrival makes this silly Ding Manman so scared. But when An looks at the man who is walking toward their direction, she is shocked by his handsome appearance as she has never seen such a charming man; besides, it is so lucky that the man is walking towards her. Naturally believing that he is attracted by her beauty and is going to start up a conversation with her, An hurriedly runs her fingers through her hair, entirely forgetting what is going on under the table where Ding looks at the approaching leather shoes and trembles more and more fiercely. Now Ding Manman is afraid that Zhong Shaoting will break his promise and seize her again, what’s worse, he may tell her good friend An Ya about the details of her confinement in his house. And if, if these are known by Mrs. Fang who already dislikes her very much, she will absolutely grow more opposed to Fang Hao’s marriage with her.
When the two girls are lost in their various conjectures, Zhong Shaoting changes his direction, heading for a private room with an evil and seductive smile on his face. After seeing this, Ding Manman feels slightly relaxed and comes back to her seat stiffly from under the table. However, An Ya is greatly disappointed as she thought she would have the chance to associate with such a handsome man.
Coming to herself, An Ya finds Ding Manman sits there, staring blankly, after which An swears in her heart that she will absolutely figure it out if this can totally destroy Ding’s marriage with Fang Hao, because only in this way can she drive Ding Manman away and have Fang Hao all to herself.
Looking at Ding Manman with care, An Ya asks: “Manman, Manman, who did you see on earth? What is it you haven’t told me? Please speak it out, and I will help you if I can!” Lost in her own thoughts, Ding Manman misses An Ya’s question again. Looking at Ding Manman who sits silently still, An Ya feels kind of angry and starts to violently shake Ding’s arms, with her long nails piercing into Ding’s skin. Feeling the pain, Ding Manman comes to herself. Finding her confidante so worried about her, Ding Manman is deeply moved: “An’an, I am so sorry. I was thinking about something else and didn’t hear what you had said. Could you please say it again?”
Hiding her true purpose in heart, An Ya asks: “Manman, what was wrong with you just now? Who made you so scared?” With her face turning paler, Ding Manman slightly pauses: “Ah, nothing, nothing…” “Well, if you have any problems, please tell me. Do you know how worried I was after seeing your reaction just now?” An Ya pretends to show her care. “I am sorry to make you worried, An’an, but I am OK. If I have any problems, I will absolutely tell you, because you are my best friend. Now please don’t worry, An’an, let’s quickly finish our cakes, otherwise they will be not tasty. Besides, I have something else to do later, so I have to leave first after we finish eating.” Ding Manman says with gratitude. Silently showing her disdain in her heart, An Ya continues to pretend: “Manman, don’t strain yourself. Pay attention to your health and take care. Remember?” Ding Manman can’t wait to leave this place where she feels quite depressed, so nodding her head to An Ya, she fetches her handbag and hurries to pay the bill.
When Ding Manman reaches the check-out counter, the checker says to her: “Miss, a gentleman has paid for your table just now, and he leaves a note for you. Please wait, I will find it.” Biting her lower lip tightly, Ding Manman takes the note with her trembling hands and then she leaves the shop in a hurry. Sitting in the taxi, Ding Manman tells the driver her home address, but for a long time she still can’t calm down. On the other side, when Ding Manman escapes with alarm and panic, Zhong Shaoting, who stands by the window and sees everything, can’t help but give a smile. His companions are all very astonished at his quiet laughter, because they can’t even remember since when Zhong has stopped showing his smiling face. Therefore, this person, who can make Zhong smile again, must be very important to him. With such ideas, a buddy of Zhong Shaoting’s comes to the window in a hurry in order to see who the person is. Looking at his silly buddy, Zhong Shaoting gives him a cold smile: “What? Wanna take a look? The person has already left, forget it.” Hearing this, the buddy banters with Zhong: “Shaoting, tell us, who is that? I have not seen your smile for a long time, so just tell us who can be so great as to make you smile again.”
Zhong Shaoting is suddenly stunned. Beyond his expectation, he has smiled because of that woman! However, despite his inner shock, he chooses not to tell his buddy, who can’t keep any secrets, about this, in case he makes it an open secret. As Zhong keeps silent, his buddy has to settle for second best: “Well then, Shaoting, just tell me, is this person female or male?” Zhong Shaoting gives him a glance and answers: “I don’t think there are any doubts about my sexual orientation.” Being clear in his heart, the buddy gives Zhong a cheeky grin. Back home, locking herself in her room, Ding Manman sits there still, thinking about everything that happened recently. Suddenly she remembers the note in her handbag. Forcing back her fear, she takes it out and reads it: “Woman, we came to an agreement that you would not appear in front of me. This time, I will let you go, but next time I won’t promise to do the same. After all, what you owed my family is not that easy to pay off.” These words make Ding Manman’s face turn terribly pale again, although a little color was coming back into her cheeks. Being overwhelmed by a tremendous fear, Ding Manman holds herself tightly and starts to weep silently.
She wonders what bad things on earth she did! Is it because of this that Providence has caused her to meet this devil-like Zhong Shaoting? She was about to marry her beloved, but because of Zhong, she missed her wedding and irritated her future mother-in-law who has become more and more dissatisfied with her since then. Besides, her marriage with Fang Hao seems increasingly hopeless, and this is all Zhong’s fault. It is Zhong who ruined the happiness that she has dreamed of for a long time. Nevertheless, despite her inner hate, she dares not to fight back, because she knows clearly she has no power to resist at all if the devil really wants to destroy her. Ding Manman has no choice but to pray, to pray that the devil can forget her and let her go as quickly as possible. In this game Ding Manman considers herself as a minor role, but she never imagines that in the future Zhong Shaoting will make a home for her and will bring more warmth to her than anyone else does, by which she will become deeply moved.
