I walked pondorously to the dungeon, my heart momentarily ceasing to beat and my insides twisting and turning.
Would Cory harm me? I knew he wouldn’t but I was still scared that he might. He had done it countless times and it wouldn’t be the first time.
Bullet beads formed on my forehead and I forgot how to breathe as thoughts of the sort of relationship I shared with Cory in my past life as Mina shrouded my mind.
I was approaching Cory’s cell. The pathways in dungeon were dark, the fire touches that were lighted on the wall doing no justice in guiding my steps.
The kings had instructed guards to accompany me there but I dismissed them once I had gotten my direction to Cory’s cell. I needed to go alone to meet him. I didn’t want him to hide anything from me. I wanted to know all the answers.
Scarlet red dirty hair that overshadowed his profile was flopped on to the bars of his cell, his breathing slow but heavy. His wings were out, laying lifeless on the cold ground of the dungeon.
“Cory” I called out
The dungeon was chilly, the howling wind running in through the little window that was built in high up on the wall of his cell.
He didn’t ascend his gaze up to face mine. Instead a groggy chuckle left his lungs. “Are you here to kill me?”
I shook my head at him, “No. I’m here to talk to you Cory”
He went silent and didn’t say a word after that.
“Can I come In?” I requested mildly. He sighed and moved his head from resting on the heavy bars of his dungeon.
I brought out the key given to me by my mates and I unlocked it, stepping inside.
I crouched opposite him and sat on the floor. I was hell scared but I had to mask it and attempt to uncover the remaining secrets of my past life.
“Speak queen” he said sarcastically. I noticed his claws had began drawing out and I gulped.
He wouldn’t kill me… I wished so.
“There are so many things to say” I said after much thought.
He finally caught my gaze with his and a sadistic smile sat on his lips. “You filthy lying bitch!” He yelled, launching for me.
“I want to know about our relationship” I blurted out immedetialy, shutting my eyes.
I could sense Cory stopped the moment I uttered that statement. I opened my eyes and I found him lying back on the ground, a harsh cough leaving his lips.
“What do you want to know? How you left me for the kings after all the promises we made to each other? How you broke my heart into pieces, ripping and shredding it into pieces?” Cory asked, pain in his tone.
“Everything” I replied softly, moving closer to him.
Once close enough, I placed my fingers on his bruised up face and ran my hands along his jaw line before going up to his hair and softly sinking my hands into his dishevelled hair.
The feeling sent a wave of shock though me and I let out a heavy gasp before collapsing to the ground.
I woke up in a meadow, the dungeon I was in no longer within sight and seated next to me was Cory.
I laid on his thighs as he smiled back at me which got me realising that I was probably in Mina’s body.
