“Aunt Maria, Uncle Mateo. Pleasss, help me.” I looked at them pleadingly, my heart aching for their help.
“Ana… Ana… Ana… pl…” Christian tries talking but only ended up coughing out blood.
“No. No Christian, do not say anything. Please you have to save your strength. You have to live.” I caressed his face lovingly, my eyes clouded with tears. I had to wipe the tears from my eyes, so I could stare at his handsome face.
“Ana…” He tried calling.
“I’m here Christian, and I’m not going anywhere. Please stop talking.”
He opened his mouth to talk once more, but before he could.. his eyes went close.
“Christian! Christian!! No, no, no please no.” I took a hold of his wrist in fear, to check his pulse. I felt so relieved when I still felt a pulse, although it’s so weak, I need to help him.
“He isn’t dead yet aunt, please help me.”
“Let him die Anastasia. Please.” My uncle clasped his hands in front of his face pleadingly. How can he ask me to let the man I love die. The man I thought I have a future with.
“No!!!!!! No!!!!!!!” I shrieked shaking my head sideways, refusing to give up on him.
I held the knife and tried pulling it out of Christian’s chest, but I only ended up causing him more pain.
“If you remove the knife, you will still kill him. Stop wasting your time.” Aunt Maria said.
Maybe if I try inducing my magic into his chest, it would help.
I chanted a little spell underneath my breathe, putting up a boundary around Christian and I.
Then I raised my hands right above the knife, then I started inducing my magic into his chest, also bring the knife out slowly.
“Anastasia, you have to let him die. It’s his destiny, and Christian already made that choice. Anastasia!!!” Uncle Mateo bellowed hitting on the boundary I had set up. The boundary is just like an invincible wall.
I noticed my aunt and uncle were chanting a spell, they are trying to bring down the boundary. I can’t let them do that, I have to be fast. I might be powerful and have really strong magic, but right now I don’t think I am a match for my uncle and aunt.
It’s time to focus Anastasia.
I shut my eyes tight, then concentrated on pouring out my magic to his chest, imagining the knife rising out of its chest gradually. Soon the knife was out. I opened my eyes and truly the knife is out, but why isn’t he waking up? His chest wound has already been healed up.
“ANASTASIA!” My uncle roared once him and my aunt succeeded in bringing down the boundary.
I laid Christian on the ground standing up to face them.
“Quick. We have no time, we must complete the ritual.” Aunt Maria said walking towards me, actually Christian in so much haste. She wants to kill him. She and every other person here must have gone mad.
How can they be okay with taking a life, for a curse that was actually once a blessing. Is not like being in their dragon form was ever dangerous to them.
“Nobody, is completing any ritual. NOBODY!!!!!” I shrieked so loudly, my mouth produce a really big wave of air, throwing my aunt and uncle very far away from the altar. I don’t know if they got injured. I don’t care.
I held onto Christian’s hand then imagined the both of us in the cave, Christian showed to me the last time, the one with gems.
I opened my eyes and we were there. I don’t want anyone getting even a single glance of the cave, and this is why I didn’t use a portal to get here.
Now I have to shut down I and Christian’s aura. My Aunt could track me with my Aura, and I don’t want that.
I knelt down besides Christian’s unconscious body, taking his hands into mine.. I caressed on it softly. “You should have told me about the ritual. You shouldn’t have just taken the decision to sacrifice yourself without letting me know.” A tear slide down my cheeks and fell on his face.
“The cabin-date, was that your goodbye? Was that what you thought is the best. I disagree with you Christian, I want you alive and not dead.” I used the back of my palm to wipe the tears welling up in my eyes.
“Are you having a bad day?”
Terror!
Why is he here?
His voice has become so registered in my mind that I do not have to see his face to know it’s him.
“Wow. I’m glad my voice has been registered to your brain. I feel special.” Terror said giving his self a warm hug.
“Did you just read my mind.” I asked glaring at him. I so much want to kill him.
“Yes, I just did.” Came his reply.
“I do not have time for your stupidity, so get lost.” I snapped at him focusing back on Christian.
“Now do you believe me?” He asked mockingly.
I sighed facing him, “Yeah, I do. Now can you please leave me alone.” I said through seethed teeth.
“That means this is a good time, to say… I. Told. You. So.” He points his tiny finger at me laughing.
“I clearly told you to leave, Terror!!” I growled pushing him with so much Air Force, he crashed into one of the big crystals.
“Someone is angry.” He states appearing right in front of me. “But if you do need a helping hand, I am here to offer mine.” He turns into his wobbly long self with a kid face, stretching forth his really long hand.
“The last thing I would do is take that hand.” I said with a straight faced.
He chuckled walking around me in circles… in very slow steps. “I don’t know if you do remember this, but you have an almost dead lover with an unfinished ritual. You have no idea of the trouble you just created.”
I was lost for words, I didn’t know what to say. Have I really created more trouble by saving Christian.
“What are you offering me?” I asked chin up.
“Let’s take a walk.” He stretched forth his hand, I stared at it then looked away.
“Ouch. But alright. Shall we.” He bows slightly, opening up a portal.
I didn’t know where he was taking me to… but I want to see this through. If there’s a slight chance that I could save Christian, then I will take it.
I stared at an unconscious Christian’s face one more time before walking into the portal, alongside terror.
I know this scene, I have been here before… this was the literally the first thing that came to my mind, once i walked out the other side of the portal.
My eyes were laid on Arkalis, and so I found out why I think that I have been here before. Terror took me back to the time Arkalis made the dragon-portion.
Getting here without being seen was something Aunt Maria and I had to do by drawing chalks on the ground, with candles surrounding us. And terror could do it with just a turn of his fingers.
“Yeah that’s true, and you can do it too. Even better. Maybe with a blink of an eye.” Terror whispered in my ear, scaring the hell out of me. I jumped in fright.
“Can you stop reading my mind, and do no whisper in my ear. Also please change into a normal human being form, you having a little boys face and over-long body… is really a disturbing my eye sight.” I finished in one breathe. He is frustrating me. Now I know why people fear him, he is over-bearing!!
He raised his hands up in surrender… “Fine, I will stop invading your privacy.” As he said those words he turns into Christian. Arghhhhhhh. I want to kill him!!
“When I said you should turn into a normal human being, I meant *A human* I didn’t know. So please do that.” I eyed him from his head to his toe.
“Okay.. sorry.” He rolled his eyes, then turns into a really handsome guy with brown hair and brown lovely eyes.
“I am a hundred percent sure that your real face is so ugl…”
“Shhh, is getting to the part that you missed.” He placed a finger on my lips cutting me off.
I glared at him removing his finger from my lips, then I turned my head to stare at Arkalis. Just like Terror had said, it was indeed at the moment where Arkalis was raising the knife up… the scene my aunt cut short.
He raised up his hand really high up, I could literally see Christian in his place raising up a knife. I do not need anyone to tell me the result of what is about to happen.
Arkalis thrust the knife into his stomach, then pushed the knife deeper. He started coughing out blood as he knelt down on the alter, then fell down on the alter.
Once he gave up the ghost, his blood that was spluttered on the alter, rose up and went into the big bowl of portions.
Then a man walked in and carried the bowl of portions.
After the man left, Arkalis body turned to ashes and flew up into the sky.
“I am pretty sure you do not need a translator, but for the ritual to be successful.. you either die or someone precious to you dies, maybe a lover. For Arkalis it was his mother. Arkalis held his mother so dearly to his heart and so…. He preferred to die.” Terror explains.
“And in this case, Christian is someone I hold dearly to my heart. I didn’t even know he was so dear to me, till I saw him drive a knife into his chest.” I sighed sadly.
“Sadly Anastasia, that is your fate. He dies or you dies. Christian has already been preparing for this day since he became of age, and knew his fate. He already choose the path of death, Anastasia.” He pats me on my shoulder, I shrug off his hands.
I just feel Christian should have discussed this with me. He should have said something. How could everyone of them keep such a fatal thing for me.
“If he had told you, would you have given him your permission to die?” Terror raised an eyebrow. He did it again.
“Oops sorry. I just couldn’t help it. Your thoughts are fascinating.”
I rolled my eyes, he is so unbelievable. “Anyway. I would never give Christian the permission to kill himself. I had rather die.” I answered expressionless.
“Awwn. Such a touching love story you have there. Two lovers ready to slit their throat so the other could stay alive. A Romeo and Juliet classic.” He mocks.
“I am going to find a way to keep both i and Christian alive. I am not going to give up or settle for death.” There has to be something out there, something that could help lift the dragon’s clan curse without taking either my life, or Christian’s.
“I do not think you would be able to find a way out.” Terror said, breaking my thoughts of intense search.
“I will find a way. But first, it’s time I go back to Christian.” I opened up a portal that leads back to the cave, I was about entering it when Terror yelled…. “Wait!”
I turned around slightly. “I said that I don’t think you could find a way out..”
“So.. your point exactly.” I sighed exasperated. He is wasting my time.
“But what if.. I told you, that I have a way out for you. A way that is so easy.” He smirked.
I furrowed my brows at him, “You have a way?” I questioned.
I took a step away from the portal, taking a listening stance. “THE GEM OF ABADDON.”
“Even a new born witch knows that anything associated with the name ABADDON, it’s a bearer of evil. I’m not interested.” I hissed spitefully, turning around.. ready to go.
“I know it’s of evil. But that gem could help you break the curse.” He shouted.
“Still not interested.” I yelled back.
“Fine. If you say so, but I will be waiting just in case you change your mind and also… The reason why your lover isn’t waking up, is because his injury is internal. Cast a healing magic on him, and he will be fine. Adios.”
Without looking back I walked into the portal, and arrived at the cave. The Gem Of ABADDON he says….
