Meanwhile, Alfred was sending the recording of their conversation to his boss. He had been hiding on the balcony the whole time.
Boss would be so pissed off if he got to know Cristelle was here together with Diego.
Alfred shuddered, thinking about the consequences. He knew how possessive Linford was.
“What happened to your forehead?” Diego suddenly let go of her wrist, trapping Cristelle between his arms as he checked out on her.
Cristelle suddenly felt suffocated and couldn’t even move, struggling. “Stay the fuck away from me! Or I’m gonna call for help now!”
Diego looked panicked, “Geez. Cristelle, you’re bleeding! You need to go to the hospital!”
Cristelle only noticed the pain in her head right now. She wiped at her forehead and saw blood on her hand.
“I don’t need your help! Stay away from me!” Cristelle was still struggling to escape. She almost bit Diego on his arm. But Diego seemed determined as he called a taxi for her, sending her to the hospital.
“What’s wrong with you?” Cristelle yelled at him inside the car.
She still needed to go back to pick her babies up from school. This bastard ruined everything!

Linford hung up the phone after Alfred’s report.
Good for you, Cristelle Friesly!
So you ran away from me just to date that useless Diego Barnett?
Linford’s face darkened at the thought.
At this moment, however, his phone started to buzz again. Linford cast a glance at the name and hung it up directly; instead, he called Mrs. Weston, “Yes? Mrs. Weston? I’m picking up the babies right now.”
The class was over. Tiffany brought Cody and Candace out of the school gate herself. The gate was crowded with parents who came here to pick up their babies. When Linford walked out of the car, everyone’s attention was on him.
Mr. Bradley came to pick up his children again. He’d got to be the father. Or why would he show up two days consecutively? That little girl seemed so close to him.
Cody was a bit uncomfortable when people gawked at him. But he still managed to pretend that he didn’t care.
Linford picked up his baby girl as he told Cody, “Get in the car.”
Cody looked around and failed to find his mother. Huffing, the boy got in the car reluctantly.
However, he only became even more unsettled when he didn’t see his Mom in the car.
Before Linford could open the door for his daughter and himself, Tiffany suddenly approached him, “Mr. Bradley.”
Linford stopped, casting the young woman with cold eyes, “What’s the problem.”
Tiffany flinched. She had a feeling that Linford could see through what she was thinking right now. She stuttered, “No-nothing… I’m just here to tell you about how to take care of Candace.”
“You’re here to tell me how to take care of MY daughter,” Linford repeated Tiffany’s words, staring at her as if he was staring at an idiot.
Tiffany’s mouth fell open, blushing furiously.
Linford shook his head and got in his car.
When Linford’s car drove away, a black Clydez followed up.
“Ma’am, are you sure we shouldn’t let Linford know about this?” The driver asked.
Clara sat straight in her seat, “It’s okay. Just drive.”
“But… Mr. Bradley, your grandfather-in-law, asked me to take Cody and Candace back. He wants to see them.”
“Are you deaf or what? Do my words mean nothing to you?” Clara exploded in anger.
The driver fell silent, not daring to say anything anymore as he kept driving on the road.

“Why are we not going home? Where’s Mom?” Cody became alert once he noticed they were not driving in their apartment’s direction.
Candace also looked at her father with confusion.
Linford could only explain, “Mommy is not in the city currently. I’m taking you guys to find her.”
Cody arched an eyebrow, “You’re not taking my sister and me to run away, are you?”
Linford’s eyes widened, “Why would you ever do that? Is that even necessary?”
Cody huffed, “Then tell me. Where’s Mom?”
Candace also seemed like she wanted to know where their mother was.
Linford sighed as he noticed the look on his daughter’s face, pulling her in, “Your Mom is in another city. We’re on our way to look for her right now.”
Cody rolled his eyes, “I don’t believe you. I’m calling her right now.” Saying that, he pulled out his phone from his bag and dialed Cristelle’s number.
But clearly, Cristelle’s phone had been switched off.
Was she even safe right now?
“Princess, you’ll see Mommy in about 2 hours. Get some sleep now,” Candace seemed a bit down when hearing his Dad’s announcement. Linford ruffled her little head as he suggested.
Candace shook her head. She didn’t want to sleep unless she saw her Mommy.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, Cristelle had had all her wounds tended. She looked at her watch. It had already passed 5. She wondered if Linford had gone to pick up the babies.
Cristelle wanted to call her son to ensure their safety, but when she tried to fish out her phone, she only found frustratingly that her pocket was empty.
“Where’s my phone?”
Diego sighed, “That truck ran over your phone during the accident. Use mine if you badly need to call someone.”
“No!” Cristelle refused Diego’s offer.
Her head was a mess right now. She had wanted to finish all this in a day, but suddenly, she couldn’t even pick up her babies. Candace and Cody would be so disappointed at this moment.
Diego walked toward her. Cristelle only noticed that he had also been injured in that accident. “It’s getting late. I think we should find a hotel to check in.”
“Are you kidding me? I’m going to the airport right now. I MUST go home,” Cristelle stood up from her seat, trying to leave.
Diego quickly grabbed her wrist, “Cristelle, it’s getting really late. How are you gonna go back? Besides, it’s going to rain soon. It’s not like I’m gonna take advantage of you or anything. Just stay.”
“Do you seriously think I’m scared of you? I’m going back because I don’t want my children to be worried,” Cristelle got rid of his grip and walked down the hall. She needed to go back right now.
