She turned around after leaving the office and headed for the archives.
“Hello, I’d like to check the files.”
The file room was a bit dark and she knocked gently on the door with a questioning tone but no one answered.
She knocked again, but there was still no answer, so she was ready to turn around and leave until she came back in the afternoon.
As she turned to leave a voice rang out, “Come in.”
The voice was a little old, but it fell clearly on Emma Richard’s ears, making her heart tremble a little.
The light in the file room came on.
The old man’s appearance fell on Emma Richard’s eyes, and his kind face made her breathe a sigh of relief.
“I want to check this man out.” Emma Richard placed the doctor’s photo in front of the old man, “It’s the one who just resigned two days ago.”
“Do you have something from the dean?” The old man, always cheerful, glanced at the photo and then opened his computer.
“Yes, is this what you are talking about?” Emma Richard thought of the dean giving herself a piece of paper that seemed to have a stamp on it, so she took it out and handed it to the old man.
The old man nodded after taking a look at it, and then immediately began to operate the computer for a while.
Emma Richard’s face showed a touch of surprise.
She could not see that the old man was so old that he could still do this.
But a moment later, the old man finalized a profile, “Found it.”
“That’s him.” Emma Richard glanced at it and sounded sure, “Uncle, can I take a picture of his profile?”
Emma Richard got what she wanted and said goodbye to the old man, putting the phone in her pocket to go back and talk to Judi Dench about it.
But before she could get to her office, she heard someone yelling at the front desk.
“What’s going on?” Emma Richard saw a group of people gathered at the reception desk, and a touch of confusion appeared on her face as she put her phone in her pocket and walked over there.
“Dr. Richard.”
“Dr. Richard.”
…
Since Emma Richard returned from her clinic, almost no one has bothered to say anything wrong about her; everyone has treated her with respect.
“What’s going on?”
Through the people gathered around her, a figure sitting on the floor caught her eye.
“Dr. Richard, you’d better not go.” As Emma Richard tried to walk up and help the man up, a small nurse pulled her back.
“Why?” Emma Richard was a little puzzled by the little nurse’s words, why would she say that.
“She’s just a bumper sticker, whoever helps her is unlucky.” The little nurse shrugged her shoulders, with a look of disbelief on her face.
Emma Richard’s eyes fell on the man’s body again.
Only to see the man sitting there motionless and silent, allowing them to surround themselves.
“It’s not good for the reputation of our hospital.” Emma Richard looked at the time, can’t let her sit here, let other patients look at it will affect the mood.
“She wants to be a good person let her go, what are you pulling her for.” As Emma Richard was about to walk up, a disdainful voice suddenly came from behind her.
Emma Richard looked at her, and after seeing her dragging the little nurse who was pulling her to the side, her eyes sank.
When the person saw Emma Richard’s appearance, her eyes glanced at her and her tone was a bit sarcastic, “What, don’t you want to be a good person, go on.”
When the little nurse heard her words, her face didn’t look too good, and her eyes kept falling on Emma Richard’s body, afraid that she would get angry when she heard these words.
“Elsa Cotillard, just stop it.”
Emma Richard heard the little nurse whispering the woman’s name now, but there was no impression of that person in her mind.
Suddenly a voice rang out in her head that sounded unusually similar to this Elsa Cotillard’s.
The young nurse kept persuading Elsa Cotillard, but she didn’t listen to any advice and kept being aggressive.
Emma Richard sneered, “I wouldn’t hide in the toilet to chew people out any more, wouldn’t you say, Elsa Cotillard.”
Emma Richard deliberately increased the tone of her voice, making her face change and change.
“You …”
Elsa Cotillard looked like she was about to say something else, but nothing came out half-heartedly.
Emma Richard stopped bothering with her and turned to the man sitting on the floor.
“Nosy!” Elsa Cotillard spoke coldly from the side, looking at Emma Richard with a sarcastic expression, “What a pretender.”
Her voice was not very loud, but it fell on Emma Richard’s ears clearly, causing her back to stiffen.
Before she could react, the nurse opened her mouth, “Elsa Cotillard, don’t bully people too much, you’re just jealous of Dr. Richard.”
The nurse didn’t even notice her volume, everyone in the room heard her clearly and their eyes fell on Elsa Cotillard’s body.
“I’m jealous? I would be jealous of her?” Elsa Cotillard’s face turned even uglier after noticing the others’ gazes.
“Don’t think that no one knows what you said in the toilet, I heard you bad-mouthing Dr. Richard in the toilet that day.” The little nurse had a face of anger, like she was talking about herself that day.
“Don’t you talk nonsense!” Elsa Cotillard’s eyes dodged and her voice became much quieter as if she was weak.
“I’m not!” The young nurse wanted to expose Elsa Cotillard’s true face.
“Come and do me a favor.”
As the nurse was about to say something else, Emma Richard’s voice rang out, interrupting her words.
After hearing her voice the little nurse hurriedly turned around to help her pick the man up.
“Ma’am, can you go to my office to talk about what’s wrong? If I can help you, I will.” Emma Richard simply ignored Elsa Cotillard and helped the older woman toward her office, while calming her down and making her feel less emotional.
After she left with the patient, Elsa Cotillard stomped her foot, looking furious.
“What are you looking at! Do what you have to do!” Elsa Cotillard’s voice took on a tinge of anger as she saw the eyes of the onlookers still resting on her body.
When the onlookers saw her, they whispered and left, leaving Elsa Cotillard standing there alone.
Her eyes still rested on Emma Richard’s departing figure, with a gloomy face.
Emma Richard, on the other hand, and the little nurse helped the elder lady into the office.
“why are you …” Emma Richard poured her a glass of water, her voice soft, afraid that she might say something unnecessary to tickle her emotions again.
The elder lady sighed, a sad face, “My husband is sick, I have run to many hospitals, it was difficult to inquire about your hospital has a famous doctor, I came to try, but I just came here they look at the poor clothing I wear and say I can not afford to see a doctor.”
Perhaps because she had seen too many such helpless old people during her charity clinics, she understood the older woman’s helplessness even better.
