Chapter 131

Book:If Loving You Is Wrong Published:2024-5-29

Emma Richard had no choice but to take out a book to pass the time.
The next morning, the sun spilled through the window into the bedroom, Emma Richard slowly opened her eyes, the book was still in her hands, she did not know when she fell asleep.
She stretched, washed up a little and headed for the health center.
Only when she arrived did she find a long line of people already in front of her office.
“Dr. Richard, you haven’t eaten breakfast yet, have you?” After seeing Emma Richard’s figure, Cam hurriedly greeted her and immediately placed the breakfast she was carrying in her hand on Emma Richard’s desk.
“Thank you Cam.”
The first time she saw him, Emma Richard felt she saw the old lady she had seen before.
Tattered shoes, with two of five toes showing outside.
Emma Richard’s mind kept appearing that old lady’s appearance, making her heart feel like it was stuffed with something, and it was unbearable.
And while checking these patients, the unpleasant smell came from them, the torn clothes, the torn socks, the patched pants …
They had problems even getting enough to eat and wear, let alone seeing a doctor.
After the morning’s examination, Cam placed the noon meal on her table.
She looked at the meal in her hand and had some difficulty swallowing it.
During her lunch break, she was lying on the table looking at the sky outside and was dazed, but then she heard a knock on the door.
She turned her head to look and a timid girl was standing at the door pulling a suitcase.
“You are?” Emma Richard looked her up and down; she didn’t look much like someone who had come to see a doctor.
“Are you the doctor who came to the charity clinic?” Emma Richard saw that she looked a little familiar, and stood up and took the luggage in her hand voluntarily.
“I’m also a doctor who came to the clinic, you don’t need to be afraid.” Emma Richard put her luggage aside, “When Cam comes later, he will arrange it for you.”
Just as her words fell, she saw Cam come in through the door, and after seeing the little girl, her face showed a touch of apology, “I’m really sorry, I was too busy today, so I didn’t have time for you.”
Only at the end did the little girl timidly say hello to Emma Richard, “My name is Dolores Cotillard, thank you.”
Then she followed Cam towards the doo.
After the break, Emma Richard proceeded to see the patients.
The more Emma Richard looked at them, the more she thought they had too much endurance.
Each one of them was in such a serious condition, but they were enduring the pain.
As the day went on, Emma Richard was not only physically tired, but also her heart was full of sorrow.
When she returned to her place of residence, she opened the door and saw the suitcase she saw at noon sitting at the door.
A tinkling sound came from the kitchen, and then a figure came out of the kitchen.
“You … you’re back?” Dolores Cotillard, with a plate of food in her hand, froze momentarily at the sight of Emma Richard, who was changing her shoes.
And Emma Richard also smiled at her and responded politely, “Well, cooking?”
“Dinner?” Dolores Cotillard knocked on the door of Emma Richard’s room after she had prepared the meal, wanting to call her to join her for dinner.
But she didn’t hear Emma Richard’s response.
When she thought Emma Richard would be less friendly to her, the door opened.
“This is for you.” Emma Richard stuffed a rag doll into Dolores Cotillard’s arms, indicating her gesture of affection.
Dolores Cotillard froze for a moment, and then a smile appeared on her face.
“May I call you sister?”
The two were making small talk during dinner, and raised the question when Dolores Cotillard knew she was younger than Emma Richard.
Emma Richard listened and nodded without even thinking about it.
The two people had one room each, and by the time Emma Richard lay down on the bed, she thought of Keira, and now there was no way to talk to her on the phone, which made Emma Richard sigh.
Because of the whole day’s exertion, Emma Richard’s eyelids began to fight, but a short while later she went to sleep.
By the time the two arrived at the health center the next morning, there was again a long line of people at the door.
As the day went on, the two got quite close.
When it came to the end of the afternoon, Cam hurried in, “Dr. Richard, there seems to be someone outside looking for you, waiting outside all afternoon.”
“Looking for me?” Emma Richard’s face crossed a puzzled look, suddenly as if she thought of something, hurriedly put down the things in her hands and walked out the door.
By the time she reached the entrance of the health center, she saw a figure standing by the car.
“What brings you here?” Emma Richard walked up to him, feeling the stares of the people around her, and hastily pulled him aside.
It was too flashy for him to drive here.
“Why didn’t you answer the phone?” Alex Roberts answered somewhat, frowning at the woman in front of him, wanting to know why her phone wasn’t working.
Emma Richard sighed after hearing his words and then held out her phone, “No signal.”
Alex Roberts took it and looked at it, and there was indeed a no signal sign on the screen.
“What are you doing here?” Emma Richard had a somewhat impatient expression on her face.
Alex Roberts, on the other hand, smiled, not caring in the least about the impatience on her face.
“Missed you and thought I’d come to see you.” His words made her freeze for a moment, as if she had never heard him say that before.
“The conditions here are so bad, you’ve suffered.” Alex Roberts’ voice was particularly gentle, making Emma Richard feel like she was in a dream.
And while the two were talking, Dolores Cotillard came out of the doorway.
“Sister, are you going back?” Seeing Alex Roberts standing off to the side, her voice became a little smaller.
“You go back first, I’ll be back in a minute.”
Emma Richard said hello to her, unaware that Dolores Cotillard’s eyes were a little off when she saw Alex Roberts.
On the other side, Kevin Armstrong asked Judi Dench out again.
“Do you have a clue?” Since Emma Richard left, Judi Dench has been preoccupied with the matter of finding a secretary.
And Kevin Armstrong shook his head, saying he had not found any clues.
“Do you have any clues from the doctor?” Not a clue after all this time!
Neither of these two things have a clue, which makes Judi Dench’s heart a little annoyed.
Kevin Armstrong saw her look, stood up and sat beside her, his hand on the top of her head to soothe her emotions.
“I didn’t ask you to come out this time to let you worry about this.”
“Then what do you want to do?” Judi Dench did not reject his hand on her head, only a look of doubt flashed across her face after hearing his words.
