Chapter 70.
Bright lights blinded Ella’s eyes as she opened them.
She rubbed slightly on her eyes to clear her vision and looked around.
She was inside a strange room alone under white sheets. She sprang up on her feet wondering what she was doing inside the strange room alone.
As she tried to get off the bed, a sharp pain hit her head and she felt like throwing up. She rushed into the available bathroom she sighted inside the room and started throwing up inside the already opened water closet.
Ella threw up until nothing was left in her stomach again. She wiped her mouth and dragged me out of the bathroom.
As she sat back on the bed wondering what she was doing in the strange room, all the events from last night came rushing into her memories.
She actually partied with a random guy who she ended up with in a room and couldn’t go home.
Ella cursed and quickly checked herself, she was still intact. The guy didn’t sleep with her, he stopped after attempting to make them start their night with a passionate kiss she got to spoil.
She heaved a sigh of relief and started searching for her handbag but it was nowhere inside the room. She remembered she dropped it when she was dancing and didn’t bother to pick it up again.
“Gosh!” she scoffed, getting mad at herself.
Consuming too much Alcohol has never been her thing but she went on daring her guts just to please a stranger who was long gone before she woke up.
She reluctantly dragged herself up on her feet and walked towards the mirror available inside the room. She stared at her messed up face and tangled hair with an irritated expression.
She cursed at home how foolish she was and now the stranger has left with her belongings.
She was now in the room alone, stranded without her bag which contained her phone, some wads of money and her identification card.
“What’s she going to do?” she asked herself with a sigh. She decided to go home, she looked around again and saw a folded jacket and a piece of paper on it which says. “Cover yourself up so you don’t get people staring.”
Ella knew it was the guy that left it, at least he is a bit thoughtful for leaving his jacket behind for her. She put on the big jacket, it helped cover her skimpy gown as it was way bigger than her.
She walked out of the door and slammed it. As she strode out of the big club, its workers were busy cleaning up all the mess from last night.
She greeted some but didn’t have the courage to ask around for her bag. She dejectedly went to the main road and flagged down a taxi.
After a few minutes’ drive, Ella got to her street, she borrowed the driver’s phone and called Clinton. It went through and she picked up.
“Clinton it is me, I’m around the main road. Can you come out to help me pay the cabman,” Ella said.
“I’m not actually at home, I’m somewhere far from home,” Clinton replied.
“What am I gonna do then?” Ella asked almost in tears, she doesn’t want the cabman to tag her as a fraud.
“Can I talk to him?” Clinton asked.
“Sure,” Ella replied and gave the phone to the cabman, after some minutes the call ended.
On getting to Ella’s home, the cabman waved Ella goodbye and drove off.
Ella wondered what Clinton might have said to him, she didn’t even ask her why couldn’t pay the transport fare.
“She doesn’t care, I bet she’s somewhere, enjoying himself,” Ella scoffed with anger, gritting her teeth as she walked towards the entrance of her house.
She dialed the code to the front door and walked in. She slumped on the nearest couch in the sitting room thinking of how to go about her identification card, which she was going to use to identify herself with some foreign client coming to talk business with her the next day.
How can she miss such a huge opportunity because of an avoidable mistake.
She felt so angry with her and wanted to break things but instead of going extreme, she calmed herself down and went to take a cool shower. She didn’t turn off the shower until she started feeling cold.
She wrapped herself up and climbed the bed sulking about her predicament and totally swearing never to go to the club again. In no time, she fell asleep again and didn’t wake up until soft hands tapped her.
She opened her eyes and saw the guy from last night looking at her with a smile.
“What are you doing here?” How did you get into my house?” Ella asked with surprise.
“I saw it slightly open and invited myself in,” he replied.
“How did you know my house?” Ella asked, still in shock.
“I followed you, I guess you never noticed you were trailed because you kept on grumbling and murmuring to yourself with frustration,” the guy replied. Ella didn’t say anything and looked away.
“I guess these are your properties?” he said and handed her bag to her. Ella became wide-eyed and took them.
“How did you get it, where did you find it?” she asked him, searching its content. Her phone, identification card and wads of money were intact. She heaved a sigh of relief and smiled at him.
“I actually took it from one of the workers, they were so generous to keep it safe after you dropped it,” the guy explained.
“Thank you so much,” Ella said.
“Thank you too for last night,” he replied.
“Last night?” what happened?” Ella asked him.
“You made my night, you were a very good companion,” he replied.
“I don’t think so, I got drunk and messed everything up. I couldn’t even ki… ss you,”
Ella said with embarrassment.
The guy chuckled and sat beside Ella. She became alarmed and adjusted backwards.
“I don’t bite, besides you were in my mercy last night and I didn’t take advantage of your vulnerable state even though your body invited me,” he replied, looking Ella in the eye. She looked away as her heart started racing uncontrollably.
“I can hear your heartbeat, are you now scared of me?” he asked. Ella became embarrassed, she could also hear her own heart racing wildly.
“I’m not,” she replied shyly, looking downward.
“I hope you covered yourself up with the jacket I kept on the side stool?” he asked.
“Yes, thank you,” Ella said.
“I should give it back to you,” she said and sat up. She was only tying a towel and was wearing nothing underneath. Ella felt awkward and her cheeks became red out of more embarrassment, she clutched her towel and looked away.
“You are safe, I’m not touching,” he replied when he noticed her awkwardness. She crawled out of the bed and headed towards the closet beside the bathroom where she kept the folded jacket. As she opened the closet door, trying to reach the jacket, she felt his body on her back. He brought his right hand up and took the jacket.
“This is mine right?” be whispered in her ears. Ella who was totally caught unaware became short of words. She felt her temperature increase, she didn’t know what to do.
She just stood there unmoving until he turned her to face him. “I couldn’t get my mind off you, that’s why I’m here,” he said and removed a strand of hair that was covering her face. She looked at her directly in the face, their eyes met, his dark and intense like last night when they bumped into each other.
“Your eyes are so pretty,” he said with admiration.
“Thank you,” Ella, who was now so uneasy, replied. Their position was so awkward that she wanted to disappear into the thin air.
“Can i?” he asked, bringing his right hand to her lips. “Ummn!” Ella murmured. He gently rubbed on it before bringing his face closer to kiss her.
“You are making me feel extraordinary which I haven’t ever felt with anyone else. I can’t explain but I know I have a burning desire for you. It’s so burning that it keeps bringing me back to you.”
“I couldn’t even go home this morning when I left. I wanted to come back but I thought it would make you uncomfortable so I had to stay away. I didn’t even know how I followed you here, I saw myself coming here even when I knew it wasn’t the right thing to do.”
“I’m really embarrassed even if I act like I’m not. I just find myself wanting to hold you and make you all mine. I’m selfish, yes but I couldn’t swallow it in. It was only a night we met, yes, and I’m already going crazy over you,” He confessed sincerely.
Ella was left speechless, she looked away, trying to digest everything he said to her. He took her right hand and placed it on his chest. Ella felt his heart also racing wildly.
“Mine is also uncontrollably beating for you, I can’t stop it too,” he said. Everything that was happening was all like a fiction, she looked up at him, his expression was that of sincerity and wasn’t fake. She didn’t know if she should hug him or disengage herself from his grip. She knows she was unusually attracted to him but she doesn’t know what her feelings actually were yet. So she didn’t know what to say.
“I know you are stunned by my confession because it is sudden, but I’m sincere.”
“Should I say I’m in love with you already? Is it okay to tell you that I love you?” he asked.
Ella just hugged him, that was only what she could think of. She hugged him tight, feeling a little bit emotional, she didn’t even know where the courage came from.
After some minutes she released him and stood on her toes as he was way taller than her, to plant a light assuming kiss on his lips but he took the opportunity to capture her lips in a passionate kiss. As they started kissing, she unknowingly jumped on his waist and wrapped him with her legs.
He carried her towards the bed, the both of them landed on the bed together, him on top. He disengaged the kiss and smiled at Ella.
“Thank you,” he murmured. He started bringing his face closer again to kiss her, then Ella asked.
“What’s your name?.” He stopped and replied.
“Seth Parker.” As he started coming closer again to kiss her, Ella woke up.
It had been all a dream. She was sweating profusely under the blanket she covered herself, she sprang up and looked around.
Everything felt so real, she could still feel his hardness that was pressing on her abdomen, she rushed out of the bed and opened the closet, she saw the guy’s jacket still intact the way she left it.
She walked back to the bed and sat down. “Seth Parker,” Ella murmured. He was actually the one that is with her bag, Ella concluded. She would go look for him, so she can recover her bag and give him back his jacket and also get to teach him the lesson of his life.
She touched her lips and smiled before burying her face in the pillow next to her.
