Chapter 63
Tia let out the breath she has been holding for a long time now. As she walked to Henri’s parents home, they asked her to visit them alone this time.
She wondered how her friends and family from her former neighbor must be doing. She remembered a dear friend she use to have from Highschool before meeting Henri.
She and Dave had been friends for a long time and he never got to tell her about how he always felt for her until a day they almost had sex in his room when she went to visit him.
She had her suspicions that Dave liked her for a while now but she always turns a blind eye to that. It was not like he has come to tell her openly before so she would not assume anything.
She looked down at herself but she shook her head as she sighed. Remembering what happened that day made her face turn red.
‘How the hell did he get to my breast?!’ she mentally screamed, still not able to forget because then she was still naive and was just coming up.
Thank goodness she was able to get back to her senses before they had done something they would have regretted.
‘Now, what happened to our friendship?’ Tia thought as she walked down getting really close to her house. She remembered they became distant after the incident that people started asking them questions.
She prayed nothing happened to their well built relationship then but it never worked, they broke apart and it always hurtes her till date. She would act like nothing happened so he would be free with her again when they meet in the future, she still hoped to keep their friendship.
“Tia,” her name was called, it pulled her out of her thoughts as she looked forward to see Henri’s mother rushing towards her with a smile of relief on her faces.
‘She must have been really worried’ she sighed as she widened her hands waiting for the hugs that came from Henri’s mom.
“What the hell happened to you?” Henri’s mom asked in worry. They have been waiting for forever for her to show up.
What does she tell her because a lot of things occurred since yesterday that kept her busy from coming when she promised.
Was it her encounter with a stranger that was almost killed by some armed men while coming here or the one with the high school students that was bully a student which she had to save.
Or was it the sweet make out she had with Henri before she started coming that almost led to sex.
There was no one she could open her lips to inform Henri’s mother of.
She let out a dry laugh “Mom, I went out with Lyra, we went shopping with the twins and didn’t come back early,” she replied before looking towards the children playing in the sand.
“Hey, don’t do that!” She scolded one of the children that was pouring the sand on another child, and she quickly walked up to the child.
She breathed out in relief “That was close,” she murmured.
She turned to see that they had all gone back inside their house. She needs to learn how to lie properly without getting caught.
Tia wasn’t a good liar like her good friend Sonia, she used to know before she moved out of the neighborhood with her parents while they graduated from middle school. Sonia is a very good liar, she can lie without even blinking an eye.
Tia smiled as she remembered Sonia, she’ll do well to call her tonight. She has a lot of gossip to tell her about. With all that took place today of course she had a whole story to tell.
She went into the house and straight to Henri’s room when Henri’s mom asked her to rest for sometime, she was famished yet she knew she needed to have her bath first and also didn’t know how to say it.
As Tia was about to enter the bathroom, she heard her phone ring causing her heart faster than normal. Was it Henri? She asked herself as she walked slowly to where the phone was.
She picked it up and released a breath of relief when she saw Sonia’s name on the screen and not Damon. She wonder what she would have done if it had been Henri, she would just tell him she has been here so he wouldn’t know about the things she encountered on her way.
“Hello Sonia!”
“I’ve been trying to call you all afternoon, why was your number not going through?” Sonia asked in rage, making Tia roll her eyes.
She knows Sonia very well, she is very good at exaggerating things. She might have called only twice but she would say she called fifteen times.
“I’m sorry, I was busy,” Tia replied. Just then she heard Sonia gasped.
“I thought you said you only wanted to drop something your Boss asked you to? Why were you busy almost all day….” Tia furrowed her brows waiting to know what her friend wanted to add.
“Did your boss’s boyfriend take a liking-”
“Shut up, Sonia” Tia replied, cutting her off before lazily falling on the bed behind me. She contemplated whether she should tell Sonia about Henri yet, as she doesn’t know about them, she is a basket mouth and might spread it every but she cares less though. She knew Sonia would get all excited to hear everything.
“At least you could have called me back. You know how I like to chat with you.”
“Next time,” Tia replied. She wasn’t in the mood to tell everything that happened to Sonia but then Sonia spoke first
“So I called you for something very important”
Tia rolled her eyes as she knew that there was nothing so important. Sonia just wants to get her attention and ears standing, it’s not like there’s big news. Sonia was good at bringing out the news.
“What is so important that my long lost friend has been calling me since this afternoon” Tia smirked. She was teasing Sonia who she knew who only ignore her to tell her the important information first
As expected, Sonia ignored Tia’s joke and began to explain.
“Do you know that at the age of 18, every werewolves gets a mate? The moon goddess would choose who their mate would be. A mate is like-”
“I know what a mate is, Sonia. What I don’t understand is why you are telling me this. Are you reading a werewolf novel?” Tia asked trying to understand Sonia.
Sonia giggled “Funny!” then she continued.
“I’m telling you this because the day that everyone has been waiting for is finally here…”
She said so excitedly that Tia could even hear it in her voice. She wanted to squeal and Tia’s brow furrowed as she wondered why all these were exciting Sonia.
“What day is everyone expecting that I don’t know of?” Alma yawned.
She was damn tired, after using a lot of her energy today and also gotten beaten up, she knew she needed a good rest. She stood when she realized that lying on the bed was not a good idea.
Sonia scoff “How can you not know? Or are you trying to play dumb?” Tia rolled her eyes for the umpteenth times.
“Have you eaten?” She switched and asked immediately. Tia wonder what was wrong with Sonia as she tinted her head to her left in confusion.
“No, I have not but I-”
“That’s the reason!” Sonia exclaimed. What’s the reason for that? Before Tia could ask what she meant, she began to explain.
“Whenever you are hungry, nothing seem to interest you until you are done eating that food,”
Tia found herself laughing really hard because somehow it was true, Sonia never forgot.
She can’t wait to go downstairs and have dinner even as she doesn’t know how to ask Henri’s mom for it.
She missed lunch because of everything that happened but not dinner, she was going to have dinner.
“You know it’s true,” Sonia chuckled as well before adding.
“I’ll let you have dinner, then we can talk properly later on. But keep it in mind that we are both going over to my fiancee’s birthday celebration this weekend.”
“What?! You have a fiancee?”
“Of course I have” Sonia said before saying “You don’t have a choice Tia, you are coming, it’s been long we saw each other, you stand a chance of getting a boyfriend too.” Tia rolled her eyes, she wanted to tell her she has someone but kept her mouth shut.
“Let me think about it,”
“Really?” Sonia scoffed.
“You think I’ll let you think about it? You seem to have forgotten that if you think too much about something you end up backing out. I’m not letting you back out on this one. You are coming to the birthday celebration and that’s final!” Her words were steady and unwavering that Tia didn’t know when she agreed to it.
“Fine!” Tia replied.
“I need to have my bath now then eat. I’ll call you later before I sleep.”
“Okay, till then. I’ll wait for your call,” Sonia said before hanging up.
Tia made her way into the bathroom as she hummed a song. She thought about Sonia’s invite. She doesn’t want to go but she has already promised Sonia. She can’t go back on her words.
“This weekend,” she hummed “This weekend!” Her eyes widened as she thought of what on this weekend was.
This weekend, she has decided to take Henri out and spoil him.
‘I’ll just have to call Sonia later and inform her about it. That day I’m taking Henri out on a date, I want us to celebrate our Union.
Tia heard someone knock on the room door and then came inside only to knock on her bathroom door.
“Tia, your food is getting cold” Henri’s mother announced.
“I’ll be there soon, mother” she replied with a happy smile.
‘Food, food, food….’ she sang and danced under the shower.
