Chapter 16
Lyra ignored the shocks on their face as she made her way to her room.
Ella turned to Bruce angrily and with a scoff. ” What the hell!? Did you just watch her say all that to me? And you’re here saying nothing!? ” She asked angrily.
” You heard her, there’s no man ” Bryce replied simply, Ella scoffed unbelievably.
” I really can’t believe you! You’re supporting her? And not me!? I mean, you believed her lies!? It’s definitely a guy and not someone special like she claimed! She’s a liar! ” Ella yelled.
Bruce let out a disturbing sigh as he stood and grabbing Ella by her wrist, he began to pull her away up to the stairs while she tries to break free in annoyance.
Successfully pulling her into his room, he closed the door behind and releasing her, Ella scoffed angrily.
” Really!? I can’t believe you right now! How could you.. ” Ella swallowed the rest of her words when Bruce began to unbutton his shirt.
She swallowed hard into nothing as he was finally shirtless before her.
” Wh.. what are you doing? ” She stuttered and a tiny smirk played on Ella’s lips.
” Calming you down ” He said and in a swift, pulled her to himself.
** Lyra’s room **
Lyra couldn’t stop herself from unhearing the ungodly sounds that came from Bruce’s room.
” Really? ” She thought angrily, knowing they purposely did that so she could listen to all of ’em.
She walked out of the room and headed downstairs, at least that would stop her from hearing Ella’s moans.
She walked over to the dinning room where Alex was seated, as he chatted with his phone.
She sat down on another seat opposite him without saying a word.
Alex looked up to acknowledge her presence and she only smiled lightly at him.
” Hi ” He muttered and she also returned it before they both decided to mind their business.
The atmosphere seemed tense and awkward as Alex was focused on his phone while Lyra had nothing to do.
She suddenly thought of dialing Bryan’s number to see if he was less busy so they could both have a chat.
She dialed Bryan’s number and at the first ring, Alex phone rang out loudly, interrupting her thoughts.
She looked up at him and then at his phone in confusion as she suddenly had a flashback of what had happened days ago, when she dialed Bryan’s number and at the same time Alex’s phone rang out loudly.
She could see Alex’s hand press on the reject button and she immediately turned to look at her phone and coincidentally or probably not, the call was rejected.
” What the heck! ” She thought with widened eyes.
Is Alec Bryan? Was that why she felt a familiar atmosphere with him at their first meeting? Was that why Bryan had always received to reveal himself cause he was Bruce’s friend? Is her thinking even right?
She dialed Bryan’s number again but this time around, it wouldn’t even go through. Did he have her calls forwarded? Or?
She was interrupted when her phone rang out, indicating that someone was calling, she looked down at her phone’s screen and was suprised to see that it was Bryan.
She looked over at Alex but he didn’t look like he was making any call or dialing any number as his fingers kept on making tapping sounds, indicating that he was chatting with someone.
She picked Bryan’s call. ” Hi ma’am ” She heard a strange voice and she raised her brows.
” Who’s this please? ” She had to ask.
” I’m Kevin, Sire Bryan’s PA ” She heard the strange voice say and she unconsciously muttered an * oh *
” Sire is currently in an important meeting with some board of directors and he asked me to report this to you and that he would place a call across to you later and he’s sorry for rejecting the call earlier ” The *Mr PA* explained at once.
” Oh, thanks ” Lyra replied.
” No problem ma’am, in that case I would hang up now ” He said and she nodded unconsciously.
” Sure, bye ” She said and he hanged you from the other end.
She let out an unconscious sigh before looking up at Alex weirdly. ” What was that? Why was I thinking about that anyways when it definitely can’t be possible? ” She thought, bothered.
” What if I’m right? ” She suddenly thought.
” No, it can’t be.. it’s probably just a coincidence.. ” She thought as she dragged the seat without knowing and capturing Alex’s attention who looked at bothered Lyra quizzically.
” But, there are circumstances that it might be him. Is Bryan really Alex? He had always talked about how badly he wished he could reveal his face but he can’t. Is it cause he is Alex? And since he is Bruce’s friend thinks I might reject him? ” Lyra thought deeply but then suddenly stood.
” No, that’s definitely not true ” She thought as she moved quizzically from a spot to the other.
” What are you doing? ” Alex’s voice jolted her back to life.
” Huh? ” She asked before realizing what she had been doing. She let out a weird smile immediately.
” Um.. nothing, I was.. was just lost thinking about something important ” She lied as she walked back to her seat.
” You sure? ” Alex asked and she nodded with a raised brow.
” Yeah, why do you think that I’m not fine? ”
” You seem bothered? Is it about Ella’s empty threat? ” He asked but she shook her head and then letting out a short chuckle.
” Of course not, I don’t care about whatever bluffs she made ” Lyra said confidently.
” You seen really confident now, what happened in the space of some hours? ” Alex asked jokingly as leaned closer slowly.
Lyra let out a chuckle. ” Nothing happened ” She replied. ” Hmm hmm, do you need a drink? ” Alex asked as he suddenly stood from his seat.
” Um sure, some fruit drink would do ” Lyra replied.
” Alright then, and what flavor? Lemme guess Orange? ” Alex asked as he walked over to the freezer some feets away from them.
Lyra raised her brows in suprise. ” And how did you know my preference was definitely going to be an orange juice? ” Lyra asked as she swingle her seat to his direction.
Alex turned to her with a smile before walking over to her with the juice.
He handed it over to her. ” I don’t know.. I just guessed.. since girls seem to love oranges ” Alex explained and she nodded anyways tho she still found it weird.
Alex noticed this and he smiled. ” You still don’t believe me right? Wait, do you think I probably have some interest in you and I had made some researches about you before coming over here? ” Alex teased and Lyra shook her head immediately.
” What? No! I just.. I really didn’t mean that ” She said hurriedly, hoping he hadn’t read a different meaning to it.
Alex only let out a smile. ” It’s fine, I was just teasing you ” He said.
” Oh, you seemed serious about it when you said that ” She muttered in relief while Alex let out a chuckle.
” No, I didn’t mean it ” He muttered, still maintaining that little smile on his lips and that made Lyra smile too and once again, that familiar feeling hit her, the only feeling she gets with Bryan.
Is he really Bryan like she was thinking? Something inside her was wishing he was Bryan. But was that possible? They’re two different person, probably.
” You care to share what’s bothering you? ” Alex asked, once again breaking her out of her thoughts.
” Huh? ” She asked unconsciously.
Alex let out a sigh as he stood from his seat and walked over to hers. He placed his hands on her shoulders making her cringe a bit but he didn’t mind as he massaged her shoulders slowly.
” I knew something was definitely bothering you, what is it? ” He asked.
” Um.. can you not do that? ” She tried to wriggle out of his grip and hoping she didn’t sound rude.
” I’m making you uncomfortable? ” Alex asked like he was actually suprised.
Truly, it wasn’t making her uncomfortable for some reasons she found weird, one of which she thought was that he could be Bryan and if she truly never fund out if he really is Bryan before he leaves, at least she would feel his touch.
” Um.. no, I just don’t want Bruce to see us in this discomforting position, he might gets the wrong idea ” Lyra said after successfully wriggling herself out of his touch.
Alex nodded and then with a smile Lyra had grown familiar with in some days since he was fond of doing that a lot, he sat on a seat beside her.
” Would you tell me what’s bothering you now? ” He asked, still maintaining that heart-melting smile.
” Not really, it’s nothing ” Lyra muttered.
” Really? Are you sure? ” He persisted with a sneaky smile and she nodded but then couldn’t help but smile cause of his contagious smile.
” Alright then ” He gave up but then they both remained in that position, staring at each other with smiles which faded slowly as they regained consciousness slowly.
The sound of footsteps quickened that as they both moved their faces away from each other at once.
Alex cleared his throat lightly as he stood up and returned back to his original seat.
Bruce and Ella finally got to them and Ella eyed Lyra maliciously as she found herself a seat beside Bruce’s.
” I hope you had a nice time ” Lyra suddenly said and Ella looked up with a little raised brow.
” Excuse me? ” She asked, feigning ignorance. A part of her knew what Lyra had meant by that.
” I could hear your ugly moans all over in my room, they sounded so disgusting that I had to come out here to breathe in some fresh air ” Lyra said and Ella’s eyes widened in horror while Alex tried so hard not to laugh.
Ella turned to Bruce angrily. ” Did you hear what this ugly bit*ch here said!? ” She asked angrily.
Instead of getting a reply from Bruce, Lura replied instead. ” I’m damn sure my face aren’t as ugly as your disgusting moans ” Lyra replied and Alex couldn’t hold in his laughter as he laughed out aloud.
Ella turned to him in shock and embarrassment! Bruce also did the same.
” How dare you say that to me!? ” Ella asked almost in tears. Lyra let out a satisfying smirk seeing she was almost in tears.
” No doubt your moans are just as ugly as your face ” She wasn’t done and this time around Alec laughed out more loudly than before but Bruce seemed to be done with Lyra when suddenly Ella burst into tears.
He hit his palm on the dinning table angrily and that seemed to make Alex stop the laughs but Lyra didn’t seem to flinch.
She turned to Bruce with a raised brow. ” Am I missing something here? ” She asked.
Bruce scoffed angrily as he got up on his seat and moving over to Lyra, almost hovering over her.
Lyra had to shift back a little since he looked really intimidating. ” You should watch your mouth slut! ” He said harshly, hatred glaring in his eyes.
Lyra was taken aback at his words. ” Excuse me? ” She asked almost angrily.
” Isn’t that what you are huh? ” He asked angrily, moving closer while she shifted backwards. He got hold of her chin roughly making her wince in pain.
” Isn’t that what you had just painted yourself to be yesterday? A slut! That’s who you are right? Since you have no job that could earn you money, you chose to sleeping around with guys, aren’t I right? Isn’t that where you got all those gifts from!? From your sugar daddies!? ” Bruce asked angrily and this time around, Lyra couldn’t stop the tears that rolled down her cheeks even when she didn’t want to, but his words.. they stung her so badly.
” And never in your life! I repeat never!! Talk back at Ella or say such words to her! You greedy slut! ” Bruce said harshly and hurting her the more as his grip tightened on her chin until Alex intervene and pushed him away slightly from Lyra who was in tears, not as a result of his grip but as a result of the hurtful words he said to her.
They stung her so bad that she couldn’t her emotions, Bruce once again did it! He once again broke her and made her we, just like he had always did.
