Enzo was getting wicked, he knew he was in complete control of the girl now and would do whatever he told her to do.
He lifted his glass and poured the whiskey into her mouth.
She closed her eyes and moaned, letting the whiskey run down her throat and sat back on the couch.
Enzo giggled as he took a sip of the whiskey in his hand. Game over, his sanity returning now.
Sookie watched the sexy knot in the man’s throat as he clasped his hands in his lap and took a small sip of his whiskey, some questions calling out in her mind.
“Can I ask you something?”
“What.”
“How did you afford this place?”
“This building belongs to my organization. And on the day I became an adult, my adoptive father, gave me this house as a gift.”
Sookie nodded and continued to drink.
Enzo looked at her and smiled softly. “So, tell me too, how a little white rabbit like you burns down other people’s rental houses.”
Sookie nearly choked at the comment and she coughed awkwardly. “It’s a little complicated.”
“Tell me about it.” Enzo raised an eyebrow and waited for her to continue.
Sookie shrugged “I found out he was having sex with another woman.”
“So you set the fire? Haha, cool.” Enzo laughed out loud, thinking that seemed like an interesting reason.
Sookie felt a little humiliated to see him so amused before continuing to explain, “It wasn’t just because he cheated on me either,” Hearing her, Enzo stifled his laughter and gestured with his hand for her to go on.
“I think my life is just too bland, I grew up going through the motions. I went to college normally, fell in love normally, worked a normal part-time job. My life ebbs and flows. My sister and brother both have more exciting lives than I. My sister fell in love with a bar owner, then she dropped out of school and got married, her kids were born, and she’s recently trying to go into business for herself, while my brother fell in love with a farmer’s daughter for two years and is recently preparing for his wedding. The reason is that he knocked up someone else.”
Enzo nodded his chin with his hand and looked at her thoughtfully.
“I don’t know if I made the right choice, they all thought I should just go to school, graduate and get a job, they thought Kalvin wasn’t normal and that I shouldn’t be dating him, but I did it anyway, I tried so hard to please him, I paid his rent, I bought him gifts, and it turned out that he actually spent my money on condoms and snogged some other woman, so that day I got mad and poured alcohol all over the house and …”
Sookie said this and lost her voice, she seemed to be too excited, the whole room was silent except for her voice.
Enzo smiled and looked at her, “Wow. That was wonderful.”
Sookie knew he was just responding politely, she lowered her head and said a bit demoralized, “I’m a stupid girl right.”
“No, you’re not.”
“You don’t think I’m crazy?”
Enzo’s expression was like he was looking at a childish child again, “Baby, have you forgotten who I am, you just set a fire to it.”
Sookie’s eyes widened in shock, “What else have you done?”
“Killing people, setting fires, underground trading.” Enzo said lightly, “What you’ve done is just child’s play in my book.”
Tonight, they’d had a lot to drink, and when Sookie yawned, Enzo seemed a little sleepy too.
Sookie’s eyes look toward the bed as if she’s searching for something. She turns her head and asks Enzo.
“Can I call my family?”
Enzo thinks for a moment, then nods. “Sure.”
The floor-to-ceiling windows.
“Hey.”
“Hey kiki,” her brother Jack giggled on the other end of the line, using a nickname she kind of hated but kind of liked. “How have you been.”
“Not too bad.” Except for the fact that she’d found out she’d had the best sex of her life with a murderer, and now she was sitting in his clothes on the phone at his house.
“Everything okay?”
“Yes.”
“Tell me the truth Kiki, what happened with you and Kalvin?”
Sookie’s mouth turned into an O in shock and she scratched her head in annoyance, “Jesus! How did you know.”
“My dear sister, there are no secrets in our family. How have you not understood that after twenty years? I heard about him from Carisa.”
Carisa is my sister-in-law, a rich girl, I don’t know how she got her eye on Jack, and she’s exceptionally close to Sookie’s sister Macey.
Well, she shouldn’t have told Macey in the first place.
“And I know there’s a rental house near your school that’s on fire.”
Sookie’s heart rose into her throat. “Oh no!”
“It’s really you. Gosh, Sookie, how dare you?”
“I …” She closed her eyes and sucked in a breath of air. “Did Kalvin call you?”
“No, the Boston police called me. Well, they called Dad first, but he was dozing off by the pool, so they called Macey.”
Sookie covered her mouth, okay, so the whole family knew.
“But don’t worry, I deleted the voicemail on Dad’s cell phone.”
“I can explain.”
“It’s okay, I just wanted to make sure you were okay and what was going on with you guys.”
Like a deflated balloon, Sookie rested her head on her knees and said sullenly, “Because at the time, there was another girl in the rental.”
“Asshole,” Jack growled. “I’m going to get someone to kick Kalvin in the nuts!”
That wouldn’t be necessary, because someone had already beaten the shit out of him and threatened his testicles with a knife.
“Brother, I’m fine, I’m a big girl now, I can take care of myself.”
“But you’re still my little sister in my eyes.”
“Thank you, brother.” Sookie’s eyes moistened a little, “Oh yeah, one more thing, could you take a vacation from school for me, I might not be able to make it over there lately.”
“What’s wrong? Is it because of Kalvin, or something else?” Jack was worried.
“No, I’ve been in bad shape lately and I want to take some time off.” Sookie hesitated and made up her mind and generally replied “Well, here’s the thing. I feel like you and my sister are in charge of your own lives, and I feel like I’ve spent the last 20 years being so boring, and I want to be like you guys and experience things that are different from normal people.”
Jack was silent for a moment, “Like what? Not going to college like I did, or getting pregnant and dropping out of school to get married in the middle of the year like Macey did?”
“But you’re all living happily ever after!” Sookie replied anxiously.
“Look Sookie, it’s true that every path in life is wonderful, your life is just smoother compared to ours, maybe you’ve just been unhappy lately so you’re looking for an outlet and want to rebel a little, that’s all .” Jack explained patiently, he wasn’t sure if the little girl would understand.
Sookie frowned, she was so distressed, “But brother, I met a man recently, and I’ve been going through things in my time that I never thought about before.”
