Just as the man was about to kill her!
The group of people had completely closed in, just a few meters away. Enzo tightly covered Sookie’s mouth, knowing that Sookie had recognized him.
In the darkness, Enzo suddenly exerted force, flipping their positions, then pressing the gun against the back of her head, commanding, “Help me, or else, you die.”
Sookie couldn’t help but tremble, she nodded heavily to indicate her understanding.
As the sounds of the thugs grew closer, in her desperate state, Sookie rushed to the border between light and darkness, cursing and kicking, “Damn it, I gave you all my scholarship money, and you still come here to flirt! You damn bastard! Can you face yourself?”
Her body reeked of alcohol, her dirty clothes matched her frantic movements, making her look like a madwoman.
Unintelligible sounds caught the attention of the group of people, and they crowded around.
Upon seeing this, Sookie quickly picked up an unknown cylindrical object nearby and swung it at them. Some of the group were hit by her, and she cried, her throat hoarse, seeming almost deranged.
The person she hit cursed and slapped her hard, using his bloodied hand to push her to the ground. She sat on the ground, looking at them with feigned horror in her widened eyes.
“Sorry! Please don’t kill me!!”
The leader narrowed his eyes, “Did you see anyone just now?”
Sookie swallowed and then shook her head desperately, “I… I didn’t see anything.”
The man fired a shot into the air and then pointed at her, “Speak!”
Trembling, Sookie reached out and pointed to the north outside the alley, “He took a motorcycle and went that way.”
The man spat on the ground, “Damn it, can’t let him get away. Both him and Mikhail have to die tonight.”
They cursed and chased after, and soon the street returned to calm.
Sookie had never been this afraid. That man just now was not only dangerous in appearance, he was a real villain! Sookie turned to run, but before she could take a step, Enzo’s strong arm pulled her back and forced her into his embrace.
Sookie struggled desperately, her voice trembling.
“No! Please! I- – -”
Enzo’s strong arm restrained her, but this time she wouldn’t lose herself in his warmth. She wouldn’t open her lips to his tongue.
Sookie screamed and resisted, feeling overwhelmed by fear, as if icy water was engulfing her, wrapping around her heart like fingers.
Enzo growled, “Stop making noise!” This woman was really timid, incredibly annoying.
In her struggle, Sookie accidentally kicked Enzo’s wound, causing him to curse in pain. Then he pressed the gun against her head, “If you don’t want to die, don’t scream.”
Sookie had been frightened too many times tonight, she had no strength left to think, and she sobbed as she nodded.
Watching Sookie quiet down, Enzo endured the pain and thought for a moment about how he should deal with this woman now… In other circumstances, he might have fitted the dark, silencer and pulled the trigger. That way, she would have disappeared cleanly.
But Enzo’s mind was in turmoil, a voice in his heart opposing rational decisions, opposing clear action, opposing obvious choices.
Finally, he made a crazy decision.
Enzo parked the car near the bar and brought her into his car, which was truly insane.
“Please,” Sookie pleaded tearfully, “please don’t kill me,” she sobbed.
“I won’t kill you,” Enzo said, gagging her mouth and tying her hands with fabric to prevent her from screaming or kicking him again. He then carried her to the trunk of his car, along with the body of the man in sportswear who had just been killed.
Sookie felt like she was going crazy. She was now in the same space as a corpse, tears streaming down her face in the darkness, even though she was sure no one could hear her, because her mouth was gagged.
She kicked wildly, and this time her ankle hit a sharp metal object, causing her to silently scream in pain. She had no idea where he was driving her!
Suddenly, the car screeched to a halt. The trunk was opened, and Enzo pulled Sookie out and threw her over his shoulder. Sookie’s mouth was gagged, and she mumbled as she struggled, hitting Enzo with her hands and feet. Enzo was annoyed by her and slapped her on the butt.
“Be quiet!”
Sookie was shocked. This man actually hit her butt! She struggled even harder, but she forgot, this man was a Shadowy Saint, he didn’t have that much patience.
Sure enough, Enzo threw her directly to the ground, and her tender buttocks madehard contact with the hard cement floor. Sookie winced in pain, unable to scream, tears welling up in her eyes, her forehead feeling a sudden icy touch.
It was a gun!
Enzo looked at her impatiently, his handsome face expressionless, his lips that had just kissed her now spoke coldly, “Either you shut up on your own, or shall I help you?”
Sookie immediately stopped all movement, tears flowing unexpectedly.
Devil! He was indeed a devil!
How could she forget? He was the one who had personally thrown a corpse and her into the trunk. She had been intimate with such a man, it was terrifying…
She was such an idiot.
But now, what Sookie was more concerned about was whether this man would kill her. She suspected that when he encountered her in the alley, he already had the intention to silence her.
Perhaps seeing her quiet down, Enzo once again hoisted her onto his shoulder. As the elevator gradually ascended, Sookie’s heart beat faster and faster.
Where was he taking her? Was he going to take her to the roof and throw her off? Or did this place actually conceal a dismemberment room with many chainsaws?
Who would save her? She didn’t want to die. She still had her parents and siblings! She was only 20 years old!
“Ding!”
Just as her thoughts were in chaos, the elevator opened. She looked up, stealing a glance, wanting to see the last place she would be before she died.
This place looked like a bachelor apartment from a movie, not a murder room.
It was a huge loft with a distinctly masculine decor, an understated luxury exuded from the old-money style design. Dark leather sofas and wooden decorations contrasted with the minimalist brick walls. A large world-famous painting, “The Last Supper”, hung on the wall, and the open kitchen was filled with silver tableware, neatly arranged on the table.
Enzo turned on the pendant light, filling every corner of the room with warm, soft light. A patterned handmade carpet lay on the dark wooden floor, and near the kitchen bar was a long dining table, looking like something a large family would need.
“This place doesn’t look like someone lives here,” Sookie muttered to herself.
Then, Enzo strode across the room, threw her onto the large sofa, and Sookie grunted. This man was not gentle at all.
“Don’t move,” leaving these words behind, Enzo left on his own, seemingly to make a call. As the man’s figure disappeared outside the door, closing it behind him, Sookie immediately propped herself up with her elbow, surveying the room frantically, considering what her escape route would be if he intended to carve her into pieces.
After a while, Enzo returned. Seeing her sitting up, he slowly approached her, sat down, and then asked her, “Who are you?”
