Third Person’s POV;
“What is it? What is troubling my dear nephew that he had to call me here urgently?”
“Tell me everything you know about Mary Dawson”

After Elijah and Crystal were done with their conversation, Crystal left for Phebe’s chamber while Elijah went towards the great hall for the meeting he planned.
Once he was in the corridor, he saw Liam waiting for him.
“Has everyone arrived?” Elijah asked him.
“Yes, Alpha. Everyone is waiting for you in the corridor?” Liam answered respectfully.
“Did you get the information you wanted?” Liam asked after a while as they were moving towards the meeting hall.
“Yup” Elijah replied plainly without briefing the context of it.
Elijah entered the room and everyone stood in respect.
“Welcome everyone, I apologize for the delay as I was caught up in something urgent” Elijah announced and everyone nodded in understanding.
He motioned everyone to take their seats. Once every seat was occupied the discussion began.
“We heard that you were attacked by hunters?” Alpha Xavier from Crescent Moon pack asked instantly.
‘And again!’ Elijah hated being asked the same question again and again but he couldn’t help it. He was the future king and it was his duty to answer his subjects and he couldn’t show his emotions especially anger unnecessarily.
“Yeah, I was and we are here to discuss how to deal with them to avoid such incident in future” Elijah said calmly.
“You look fine. No one can tell you were shot four times” Alpha Evandor from Moonshine pack commented with an impressed look.
“I must say you are really strong, Alpha Elijah” Alpha Rutherford from Eclipse pack praised as well.
“Thank you, My fellow Alphas. Before we start the meeting, I would like to add a new rule. From now on, only Alphas and Alpha King will be invited to the meeting. No Beta will be allowed” Elijah said nonchalantly.
Elijah’s statement was met with shock expressions looking at each other, then at Alpha King.
Alpha King Cole trusted his son more than anything, he knew there must be a reason for him to make such a decision.
Alpha King Cole nodded and added, “This is for security reasons”
Elijah smiled when his father supported him without a question.
“Okay, my Alpha King” Alpha Evandor was the first one to reply in agreement.
Elijah knew it wouldn’t be so easy and one or the other would disagree soon, and he wasn’t wrong as he heard the first voice in contradiction.
“But our Betas are the important part of our packs” Alpha Xavier’s voice was loud and clear in disagreement. Elijah looked at him sternly as he said.
“Same goes for us but not even our Beta will be staying in the meeting” Alpha Elijah added in a serious tone.
Everyone gazed at Liam, whose expressions were indifferent.
It wasn’t preplanned but Liam didn’t react at all,
“Rules are the same for everyone” Liam said in a serious tone while holding the door open,
“My fellow Beta’s, kindly leave the room with us” he added while looking at the other Betas and then at Matt.
“Yes, please” Matt nodded while opening the other side of the door.
All the Betas’ stood up from their respective seat and moved towards the door in a beeline. Once they were out, they stood next to either of the doors like bodyguards without expressions of displeasure.
Elijah walked towards them and instructed, “Keep everyone away and make sure there is no interruption”
“Yes Alpha” they said in unison.
“We will be standing at the door until the meeting is over” Liam said and Matt nodded in agreement.
“Stefan, you must guard the corridor” Elijah said to his Delta and then turned towards Alpha Luke’s Beta, Ruby,
“Ruby, stay with other Betas and make sure no one causes a scene. If there is anything or anyone suspicious report to me immediately” Elijah said sternly.
“As you command, my Alpha” Stefan and Ruby replied in unison.
Once all of Betas were out, Liam and Matt closed the door.
“Shall we start the discussion then?” Elijah turned towards the Alphas waiting expectantly for the new alpha king to start the meeting.
“How did these low-life hunters get in our lands? And where did they find the guts to attack our Crown Prince?” Alpha Rutherford asked in anger.
“They were not there to attack me but to the werewolves, I kicked out” Elijah explained calmly as he took his seat.
“How can you tell?” Alpha Xavier questioned immediately.
“Because once I started attacking, they ran away like hell. They were not expecting me, I can tell” Elijah answered narrowing his eyes at Xavier making him submit immediately.
“So, what now? Are we going to punish them?” Alpha Rutherford asked bursting in anger to take the revenge.
“Of course” Alpha King Cole replied this time.
“Then we must attack them after Crown Prince Alpha Elijah’s ceremony! And then, we must make sure that they cease to exist” Alpha Luke said with anger evident in his ever-peaceful eyes.
‘Rose won’t like that idea, uncle’ Elijah thought in uncertainty.
“We must delay the punishment for now” Elijah said making them loose their composure.
“WHAT? WHY? They attacked you, Elijah!” Alpha Luke said in a worried tone and then composed himself,
“I mean they attacked you, Alpha Elijah” he corrected himself.
“I know but we are only going to give them a warning for now until we decide on a proper punishment for them” Elijah replied but the lot was not satisfied with the answer.
“Why are we not punishing them now?” Alpha Evandor insisted.
“Because it won’t work. The incidents like these will keep on happening” Elijah replied still holding his emotions right. It’s not in his Alpha nature to accept denials but he was holding his wolf back from showing himself right now.
“Why?” Alpha Rutherford asked again.
“Don’t you understand? How did they get to know that I had kicked out some members of my pack when I took the decision just barely an hour ago” Elijah asked finally hitting them in the gut.
Everyone was shocked and looked at each other.
“Are you trying to say……?” Alpha Luke didn’t continue the statement as this is a very serious allegation.
“Yes, we have a traitor amongst us” Elijah wasn’t scared to speak the truth at all.
