Third Person’s POV;
“You are mine!” He said looking straight into her eyes.
His royal blue eyes darkened. The playful smile on his face was long gone. There was no trace of humor in his eyes. There is no way he was joking with such a serious expression. Even the aura around him changed darkly.
Suddenly, the temperature of the room dropped. It was freezing cold in the room and the only source of warmth was the man standing right in front of her.
Her heart was racing against her chest. He took a couple of steps towards her slowly, and just like the last time she was frozen in her place. With each step he was taking, the temperature was dropping drastically.
In no time, he was now standing right in front of her.
His warm breath was falling on her face.
“I…” She tried to speak.
“Shhh!” he kept his forefinger on her delicate lips and Rose submitted instantly.
‘What the hell is wrong with me today? Where is the feminist inside me? Is she on holiday or what?’ She asked herself angrily.
She tried to move away but her mind and body were not in sync. Her body didn’t even move an inch away from that handsome hunk.
‘I must get away’ She told herself and forced herself to move but every inch of her body especially her heart was not ready to listen to her. It wanted to listen to the gorgeous specimen standing right in front of her.
Suddenly, even the conscious part of her brain gave up instantly the moment his hand came in contact with her cheek and other was holding her left shoulder.
“Don’t even think about any other guy! You are my mate! and I don’t share what is mine” He replied, his voice laced with authority and danger and she loved every single part of it.
‘Again with the mate sh*t!’ she thought but not a single word came out of her mouth. She was star-struck by him.
In reply, Rose could only breathe heavily. She wanted to submit to him so badly. To let him take control and have things his way.
She couldn’t believe herself. She was the one who dominated every single guy in her life and now, she is letting this hot sizzling Alpha King dominate her and somehow, she is liking the way she was intimidated by him.
‘Am I getting sadistic now?’ she thought and the answer was not in her favor.
He moved even closer to her and Rose unknowingly kept her hand on his hard chest.
To her surprise, he kissed her forehead. She expected a hungry kiss on the lips or something even more dark and sinister, the way dominating guy always have their ways with a weak girl, but he instead kissed her forehead gently.
His lips were extremely soft, opposite to the hard muscle of his chest.
‘or opposite to everything hard in his body…hmm….’ Her dirty mind was active again.
She closed her eyes blissfully as the pleasing sensation ran throughout her body. For the first time in life, she felt the butterflies in her stomach. On the other hand, her heart was about to explode. It was literally thudding against her chest.
‘Heart, you want to come out or what?’
“You did a great job, love” he said with a gentle smile.
Rose opened her eyes and looked at him confusedly, ‘Huh?’
She didn’t believe her ears and hence, she was still staring at him, demanding answers.
“You have forgiven them even when they did wrong to you. It’s not easy to forgive someone. It takes a lot of courage that even the strongest of us don’t have. You proved today that you are not only brave but one of the strongest people I know” He smiled at her and she couldn’t help but smile back.
“Thank you” she replied while her cheeks were burning with visible redness on her delicate cheeks.
‘Why am I blushing like a bimbo again?’ She thought but was unable to stop herself from smiling like an idiot when he complimented her. She was melting like a puddle.
Her heart could explode at any moment as she was completely bewitched by this gorgeous Alpha King.
“Breathe and calm yourself or your heart might come out of your ribcage” He chuckled while cupping her face.
He couldn’t help but find her adorable.
She was even more embarrassed now. Her heart was not listening to her. It was the first time a guy had such a profound effect on her. She took his advice, closed her eyes, and took a few deep breaths to calm her racing heart.
“Better?” he asked as he heard her heartbeat coming back to normal.
She opened her eyes and nodded in reply like an innocent child and he retracted his hands.
The way she reacted and blew air to her cheeks, looking like a dumpling, he could tell she didn’t like that he removed his hands.
“Cute” he said under his breath but she heard it and he was instantly rewarded with a shy smile spreading across her delectable lips.
As he was looking at her, he was still having a battle inside his head about her. He was unable to understand why she hadn’t changed yet and a light bulb lit up in his head.
One of the men who came to meet Rose just now, probably her uncle, was from among the group of men who attacked him in the forest.
‘So, this is the hunter’s house?’ he thought confusedly.
‘That means she is in a house crawling with hunters? But something is very wrong here, I felt the presence of other werewolves too’ She snapped her fingers in front of his face as he zoned out.
“Elijah” She called.
“Yeah, love?” He asked confusedly.
“I was asking if you are still in pain?” Rose said observing his reaction carefully.
“Oh. No, I am not. The wolfsbane will be out of my system soon” He replied honestly which shocked her a bit but looking at his calm face she couldn’t do anything but accept that he must have high healing capability.
“Oh, okay” Rose answered simply.
“By the way, Rose, about the men who visited you just now, one of them attacked me yesterday. Did you know that? Are you really related to him?” Elijah asked in utter curiosity and Rose’s eyes widened.
“Yes, it was my uncle. His name is Levi. Uncle William and Uncle Pete also attacked you yesterday with some villagers, I guess” Rose replied honestly as there was no point in lying to him.
“Did you just save me because of what your uncle did to me?” Elijah asked as he wanted to know if she did it just out of guilt and pity.
“No! Why would I clear their mess? It’s just I couldn’t leave you there. My heart wasn’t ready to leave you….” Rose answered hurriedly to avoid any misunderstanding.
‘But why do I want to disappoint him, I don’t even know him!’ she asked herself but instantly got her answer when a smile spread across Elijah’s face.
“I mean, I am a doctor in practice” She replied waving her hand.
“Yeah, of course” Elijah replied but the smile didn’t leave his face.
“Jokes apart. Do you know anything about your uncles?” He asked seriously.
“Other than they are the most hateful creatures on the planet?” She asked confidently.
“Yeah, I mean what do they do and stuff?” He asked curious about her answer.
“From what I know, Uncle Levi has his own business. Uncle William owns a shop and Uncle Pete works in a factory or something” Rose replied honestly as she was never interested in her Uncles business.
“That is it?” Elijah asked raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, that’s all I know. Honestly, I never cared about them, so I don’t know more” she replied innocently.
‘That means she doesn’t know her uncles are the supernatural hunters’ Elijah thought.
“Listen to me, love. Stay away from them, okay?” Elijah’s voice was overflowing with concern.
“Trust me, you don’t need to tell me this” Rose replied making him chuckle slightly.
“I know but I am serious about this. Don’t eat anything they give you, don’t go anywhere alone with them, and stay away from them as far as possible” He said holding both of her shoulders firmly like he wanted to protect her from all the evil in the world.
“You are scaring me, Elijah. It’s just my ugly uncles. What could they possibly do?” Rose asked worriedly.
“You saw what they did to me yesterday, Rose. Please listen to me” He spoke gently while now holding one of her hands.
Rose couldn’t understand why is she so weak for him. In normal days, she wouldn’t let any guy touch even a strand of her hair but it was different with Elijah. She didn’t mind him touching her hand, shoulder, or cupping her face. She didn’t even mind when he kissed her forehead?
‘Am I going nuts?’ She thought confusedly.
‘Am I having a crush on him? Can I have two crushes at the same time?’ She was deep in her thoughts.
‘Am I slut who wants a guy’s attention? No! No way! Crushes are innocent!’ She shook her head in denial.
“Yeah, okay” Rose said not knowing how exactly will she evade her uncles while living in the same house as them.
While Rose was busy in her thoughts, Elijah was lost in his own. He was planning to ask her at the right time but as he knew her uncles were the famous supernatural hunters, he couldn’t control himself.
“Rose, do your parents give you something strong to drink? Like something actually, a bit bitter and bad to taste?”
Rose’s eyes widen in shock.
