Third Person’s POV,
“Are you awake?” She asked in shock as she moved towards him instantly.
He regained his consciousness but his eyes were still closed. He looked like he was trying to open them while battling with himself.
“Yeahhh” he replied breathlessly as he tried to get up.
‘I never heard something so sexy and provoking before!’ she thought while swallowing hard. She cleared her throat and asked him in astonishment.
“How can you wake up so early?” but he decidedly not to reply.
He tried to get up but his eyes were still closed and his entire body was aching like thousands of needles were piercing through his body.
“Why are you trying to get up? You need rest” She said, as she moved toward him with the speed of light.
“You were shot…” She tried to argue but he didn’t let her finish.
“Four times. I know” He replied in his deep seductive voice and snapped open his eyes.
His royal blue eyes met with her emerald green orbs. She was bewitched by his deep hypnotic eyes. She looked away immediately to refrain herself from doing something stupid.
He tried to get up but he was way too weak at the moment. She hugged him in order to help him balance while she put a pillow behind him to sit properly.
She felt some kind of unexplainable electricity and tingling sensation in her entire body when their skin came in contact.
‘What the hell is wrong with me?’ she thought as she moved away.
She observed a spark originating from both of their bodies as well.
She then remembered her dream of how his body glowed in the forest.
‘So, it wasn’t just a dream? It happened in real life? Why don’t I remember things clearly?’ She tried to focus but her head was hurting badly.
Another thought popped into her head.
‘So, these werewolves can glow too? I should ask him to come home for every New Year party, then I don’t need to waste my money on firecrackers, ha ha ha!’ She thought with an evil laughter inside her head.
Keeping her thoughts to herself, she sat back on the couch next to the bed silently without uttering a word as soon as she was done helping him sit comfortably.
“Your head has blood on it. Didn’t you treat it?” He asked in a demanding voice like she did a grave mistake.
“I.. i..” She was speechless.
‘I was so busy treating him that I completely forgot about my own injury’ She touched her head and a painful scream left her mouth.
“Ouch!”
“How did it not heal yet?” He asked in confusion. His expressions felt like he was going through a deep conversation with himself.
He grabbed the vodka bottle and the last cleaned towel from the side of the bed. He poured the alcohol on the towel and handed her.
“Here, clean that wound or it will get infected. You are weak” He said in a concerned tone.
He looked at the beautiful girl sitting in front of him, looking at him with worry but there was a genuine welcoming smile on her face.
“How are you feeling now?” She asked in a tone filled with care while cleaning her own wound.
“Better” he replied in a single word.
He looked at her in the eye with an unreadable emotion. His eyes were stuck on her.
“Mate” escaped his mouth like an automatic reaction.
‘Mate? What mate? What kind of gibberish talk is this?’ she thought as she heard him.
She couldn’t help but feel that she had heard this word from him before but she was unable to recall when.
An image of him lying on the ground and herself sitting next to him flashed in front of her eyes. She saw him moving his lips but she couldn’t remember what he said. She just lip-read him saying the word, ‘mate’ but that’s the only thing she remembered?
‘What did he say when we were in the forest? Why can’t I remember anything? Did I hit my head too hard or put too much strain on myself tonight that I lost my memories?’ She kept the towel aside and held her head as it started to pain a lot.
“Are you okay?” He asked worriedly and she just nodded without raising her head to look at him.
‘He said something like, ‘I am your.. no no.. you are my? What did he say? Maybe he said ‘My name is mate?’ He must be trying to introduce himself and I completely forgot that part. OR maybe he is Australian? My bad!’ It was the best reason she could come up with her massive headache.
She raised her head and looked at the gorgeous guy sitting in front of her with a focused gaze.
‘Oh, so his name is Mate. But Mate? Seriously? His parents should have come up with a better name for such a hot hunk, but we shouldn’t judge people! Judging is a bad habit!’ She shook her head vigorously.
“Are you not feeling good?” He looked at her weirdly but she was too busy in her own thoughts.
‘But why is he directly saying his name without any ‘Hi’ or ‘Hello’? Is that a werewolf thing that I don’t know? Maybe it’s their greeting system or maybe he doesn’t really meet people’ She thought as she was checking him out unintentionally.
‘Maybe I am thinking too much. He just woke up, he was attacked so brutally. He must be in shock. I should be polite. I must greet him first. There is no bad in a girl taking the first step’ Her inner feminist spoke and she decided to take the matter into her own hands.
“Hey, mate. How are you feeling?” She asked, flashing her irresistible smile.
“You knew that we are mates?” he was shocked.
‘So, his name is not Mate. Then, what is he referring to? He said something similar when he got up for a couple of minutes in the forest too but I couldn’t remember because of this darn injury.’ She cursed her head.
A thought crossed her stupid brain and she nodded her head in agreement.
“Of course, until you recover completely, we are Room-Mates” She said with a wide smile.
“No.. I wasn’t referring to….. Forget it!” The guy tried to explain but he gave up instantly and waved his hand.
‘So, she doesn’t know it yet. The way her body reacted. She is not a normal human being at all. I think she doesn’t remember our earlier conversation as well’ he thought as he remembered everything that happened tonight.
“Anyways, I am Elijah Smith, the King of Werewolves” He said proudly while extending his hand.
“Oh, I am Rosaline Blue. Your treating doctor. Please call me Rose” She laughed at her own joke.
“Thank you for helping me” He gratefully added.
“You are the one who helped me first. So, thank you” She replied honestly.
“I did?” He asked in confusion.
“You roared to scare me so that I wouldn’t be attacked by your attackers” She replied confidently.
“You are really keen. I am impressed” He replied with admiration. He didn’t really expect her to notice that.
She couldn’t help but smile giddily when he complimented her.
‘Why am I smiling like a bimbo? Why are my cheeks burning? He is the not the first guy who complimented me!’ She thought touching her cheeks in response.
‘She noticed the minute detail but not the truth about herself? Does she really not know or she is trying to hide it?’ he thought looking at her celestial face.
‘I need to find out’ he decided to know more.
Both of them were awkwardly looking here and there before Elijah cleared his throat to get her attention.
She looked at him innocently and he couldn’t help but admire her beauty. ‘She is so pretty’
“I am sorry if I make you feel awkward but can I ask you something?” He asked for her permission like a gentleman.
“Sure, you must be really curious as you just got up. I won’t mind answering a few questions” She replied like an understanding woman she was.
“Did you ever feel the pain in the body at night?”
