Book:Fated To The Ruthless Alpha King Published:2024-6-5

“If king Rakur’s being in possession of the royalty stone led to the wars, how was your pack and the other packs able to survive the attacks? How did you manage go up against him even while he had so much power?”
“The rogues failed because they didn’t have as much power as they thought they did; they never had the stone in the first place.”
Miranda’s eyes lit, “what?”
He nodded, “yes, it turned out that my parents were much smarter than the rogues thought, because they knew that not many wolves would be guarding the packhouse on the day of the conference, they changed the stone’s location to a well-hidden place that no one would ever find it when they left…
“Thinking they had all the power, the rogues came mighty in numbers for the attacks, they did a lot of damage, but never succeeded in taking possession of any of the packs, not even the smallest Lotus pack, and it was all because their ultimate weapon was a fake…
“They failed, but they did succeed to an extent, as my parents tried so hard to defend their territory, my mother fought, turning deaf ears to the pleas of the silver wolves to stay back because of her pregnant condition. She wasn’t so strong, and then both my parents lost their lives in the process. I had to ascend the throne three years later with guidance from the silver council and my uncle who took over the job of raising me, I’d already learnt enough to become an alpha at such a young age, first of which was never to trust anyone.”
“Imagine if they had the real stone, they’d have done so much worse, look at what the rogues did to you, using that little boy, so evil.”
“Yes. That’s how the rogues work, they send someone you least expect to penetrate your borders, that so-called innocent person will find your weakness and they use it against you. The first law I made as an alpha was prohibiting the silver wolves from attending any gatherings, such as the cardinal conference, I’ve done so much more to protect my people over the years, I’ve made choices that I never wanted to make, but I did it because I knew it was for the best.”
“That’s why… why everyone thinks so wicked of you, they never understood the reasons for your choices.”
“I don’t care what people think and they don’t need to understand, the only thing that’s most important is that I’ve been able to keep my people safe from harm for so many years. I’ve been able to bring them peace and prosperity, because that’s what’s most important.”
“So, that boy that betrayed you… Ronan.”
“The rogue king’s son.”
“Yes, where is he now?”
“He is where he is supposed to be, right where I put him; he’s in his grave now. I killed him a few years ago.”
“When did this happen?”
“Right after the one who raised me after my parents, my uncle Victor died. He didn’t die a natural death, as king Rakur kept sending swarms of men to attack us even after killing the alpha and Luna, he was never still satisfied, he killed so many all in the name of power. Since I was still so young, my uncle fought in my place as alpha, but sadly he didn’t make it. He was my last surviving relative, and when he died by the hands of King Rakur’s men, that was the last straw for me…
“Revenge wasn’t what I wanted, but king Rakur had pushed me to the edge. I sprang a surprise attack in his territory and killed his son. I didn’t kill the king for a reason. I wanted him alive because I wanted him to have a taste of his own medicine. I wanted him to feel the same pain I did, the pain of losing family. it hurt like hell, and I wanted him to see how it felt.”
“I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through Damian…”
He continued, “the rogue king still hates me till this day for taking the life of his only son, and I was able to do so using the same weapon Ronan used against me then.”
“What’s that?”
“Trust. It turned out that Ronan had feelings for me, even with the vicious methods his father used in raising him, he still had love in his heart and he regretted what he did to me. He sneaked in here one day to apologize and plan with me, he tried to help me steal the stone back from his father. I made him believe that the stone was real, and then I killed him, I made sure the last thing he ever saw were the scars his father ensured to stamp on my body.”
“Oh Damian… I understand. I understand perfectly well what it’s like to lose family, but you can’t keep living with this burden. You have to cheer up, you have to forgive, you can’t keep nursing hate in your heart. If you want to move on, you have to forgive, I guarantee that’s the only way you’ll ever be happy in life.”
Sighs, “Thank you… I’ll try, it’s very hard, but because of you Miranda, I’ll try.”
“Thank you too, and I want you to know that you’re not alone in this battle, you have a surviving family member now; me, and I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be right by your side, supporting you all the way.”
He held her hand, pressing his lips against the back of her palm, “I appreciate you being there for me because I know I will need you Miranda, I know I will need you in the coming times, and I’m glad you’ll be by my side.”
Miranda is thinking of something else; she knows that the royalty stone is still somewhere in this packhouse, but she brushed the thought of asking him aside.
“It’s best for both of us not to know,” Lily substantiated, as who knows? These walls might have hidden ears.
Alpha Damian is well aware of the fact that king Rakur has already discovered his parents’ trick long ago. The king had disposed of the false stone, he’s rebuilding his army whilst the other packs are preparing their defense for the next war. King Rakur will be preparing to strike again soon, and Damian will be waiting for him, with the help of his new lover, he knows that there’s nothing he can’t overcome.
