Book:Fated To The Ruthless Alpha King Published:2024-6-5

The court session resumed, and all the night shadow leaders were gathered again. Sandy joined them this time around, she doesn’t usually attend court sessions, but because of the prisoner involved this time, and because she also had some confessions to make, this was not a session she would dare to miss for the world.
Shortly after, the prisoner, former Omega Conor of the night shadow pack was brought to kneel in the middle of the court, in front of the alpha. After he was brought in, alpha Walden stood up to address him.
“Conor, you were formerly found guilty of crimes against the night shadow pack due to the evidence found in your possession, and you were sentenced to death for that reason. Now, the pack leaders and I have deliberated and we have decided to give you another chance to confess what exactly you came here to do on the night that the silver pack’s spy was assassinated. Do you solemnly swear to speak the truth, and nothing but the truth?”
Conor nodded, “I do solemnly swear sire.”
“Very well then. You may proceed with your confession.”
Sandy’s heart leaped, now Conor would speak the truth and she would testify as his alibi! Everyone would find out about their affair but still… there was still a chance for his life to be saved! Even though Walden might not be pleased with the real reason Conor was found sneaking in, but at the very least, he would no longer be found guilty of the crimes he was accused of! The court quieted down, as everyone wanted to listen to what the prisoner would say, before another judgement would be proclaimed. Sandy’s heart suddenly dropped as the next set of words that came from the prisoner’s mouth was not what she’d expected.
“I am guilty sire. I am guilty of all the crimes I was formerly accused of. I tried to deny it, but seeing as the evidence gave out the truth, I feel that there is no longer any need to pretend. I am a spy sent by the silver pack’s alpha Damian to kill alpha Walden, and when I found out that my accomplice had been imprisoned, I knew I had no choice but to kill him so he wouldn’t expose the truth.”
Gasps, whispers, murmurs, erupted from the whole court. The confession shocked everyone, but even shocked Sandy the most. She couldn’t control herself anymore.
“That’s a lie! Tell him the truth Conor! Why are you doing this? Do you… do you want to die???? Tell him about us! Tell him where you REALLY where that night and stop trying to cover up for that bastard who’s threatening you!!!”
“Sandy…”
She ran desperately to the alpha, dropping to her knees, “brother, please…. I don’t know whatever tricks this threatener is trying to play, but Conor is not the real enemy. He’s not a silver pack spy and he’s not the one who killed that prisoner! I know it because I was with him that night.”
Walden’s eyes flashed, “doing what Sandy?”
She burst out, “Conor and I are lovers!!!! Yes… I love him, and he loves me too… we’ve been together for a long time, but we’ve kept our relationship hidden because everyone thinks it absurd for fresh green grass to tumble with weeds… well, I don’t care about that stupid law! I love Conor and I’m not ashamed to say it!!”
The background noises in the court increased, and alpha Walden too seemed surprised, but his emotion was more of anger that his sister had not only been lying to him, but also felt the need to disgrace him so openly. He also felt confused as to what was going on, Sandy seemed so sure of what she was saying but yet Conor’s words didn’t align, he decided to maintain his demeanor and proceed with questioning the suspect.
“Conor, is this true?”
“Yes, its true! But he won’t say it because he’s being threatened….”
“Sandy, shut up! I am speaking to Conor now, and one more interruption from you, you will be sent out of this court!”
After warning his sister, he turned back to face the prisoner, hoping to get to the bottom of this sooner, “what Sandy just said, is it true? Were you with her that night? And if you were, why are you covering up for a crime you didn’t commit? Are you being threatened as she claims?”
Conor rose his eyes then, his eyes finding Samara in the background near the alpha’s seat, she gave him a threatening glare, one that assured him she would end the life of his mother if she dared to say a word. He remembered her last words to him then…
“Some of my men will be at the court during your questioning, one hint of truth from you and a call will immediately be placed to the hideout where your mother is being kept. I’d love to see the look on your face when you hear how I’ve chopped her to bits…” he closed his eyes, not wanting to imagine what that picture would be like for him…
“Conor!!!!” The alpha’s loud voice snapped him out of his thoughts. “Do not keep us waiting for an answer!!! I won’t repeat myself again, ARE you being threatened as my sister claims???”
I’m sorry Sandy… He spoke boldly, “no, I am not being threatened by anyone…” Sandy nearly fainted then. The alpha proceeded.
“And the claims she spoke of you both having an affair? Is it true???” Like that answer seemed so important to Walden.
“Yes, it’s true, Sandy and I were lovers, but I only used her as an excuse to gain access to the pack house. Our relationship was nothing but a ploy…”
“No…. he’s lying…! He’s lying…!” Sobs, “it’s all a lie!!! Tell him the truth Conor!!! Why won’t you tell him the fucking truth!!!”
“This is your last warning, Sandy! One more word from you and you will be sent out of this place!”
“Wait! There’s something else!” Everyone turned in the direction of where the voice was heard, Samara then came out from where she was standing to move to the middle of the court where everyone could see.
“I also want to testify against the accused,” she said, before waiting for the alpha’s permission.
“Very well, you may proceed Samara.”
“The prisoner speaks the truth; I’ve met him before; on the night I was attacked by the other spy. He was there too. He and messenger Stanley were accomplices.”
“And why are you just mentioning this now Samara?”
“I’m sorry alpha Walden, I didn’t feel the need to anymore, since he’d already been caught and sentenced to death, but now that he’s been giving a second hearing which I feel he doesn’t deserve, I only thought it best to let out my part of the truth.”
“Thank you for testifying Sandy, if there is nothing else, you may return to you your seat.” Samara then bowed and left the middle of the court.
Alpha Walden turned to face the prisoner again, “do you plead guilty to the what the witness just mentioned?”
“Yes, I do sire, we tried to kill her that night but she escaped.”
“And you stand on your claim that you are an enemy of the night shadow territory? You claim that all the evidences and witness against you are true? And that you are guilty of all the crimes you’ve been accused of?”
“Yes sire, I am guilty as charged.”
“Then I have no other choice as the alpha of the night shadow pack who is sworn to protect my territory at all costs. I once again sentence you to death, but this time, your judgement is moved forward, as you will be executed immediately.”
“No!!!! NO!!! You can’t do this!!! I won’t let you!!! NO!!! He’s innocent!! You CAN’T kill him!!!”
Sandy ran to stand defensively in front of Conor who was still kneeling, she ranted, yelled and begged, but it was no use; the alpha had already made up his mind. He gave a signal to the guards to take his crying yelling sister out of the courtroom, she fought them, but unfortunately, she was no match for the plenty muscled men that handled her. She was dragged forcefully out of the courtroom, and right there and then, judgement took place against the enemy of the night shadow pack, as it was off with Conor’s head.
