Charlotte gently patted the heads of the two little ones, her face filled with affection.
“Are these two kids’ parents? They look really young, not even twenty-five, right?”
“Unwed parents? I wonder if this man is even their biological father. After all, nowadays there are plenty of people willing to step in and plenty looking for someone to step in.”
The crowd murmured quietly.
Though their voices were low, Quentin heard them clearly. His stern gaze swept over them, causing them to lower their heads instantly.
That man’s gaze was somewhat frightening.
Quentin’s voice was sharp, “I am Janessa and Theo’s father. I’ve heard there have been rumors circulating about my children.”
“I hope you all can refrain from speaking ill in front of my children. If there’s an issue, address it with me directly.”
“We’re all adults here, so let’s keep our mouths in check. Otherwise, if something happens one day, don’t blame others.”
His tone was firm, with a hint of threat.
His words made many pause. Was this guy really talking to them like this? Among those present, who wasn’t a wealthy and influential figure? Who had been scolded like this before? They couldn’t swallow this tone.
This man… didn’t seem like something, dressed in street stall clothes. Where did he find the courage to speak to them like this? Where did he get his confidence?
But Riya glanced at the man a few more times. She had witnessed what happened to Janessa and Theo earlier, not only being ostracized by classmates but also insulted by these parents.
Though Quentin’s tone was tough, he showed qualities of a good father. At least, he dared to stand up for his children, displaying the responsibility of a father.
Not bad.
Charlotte quietly tapped him with her hand and whispered, “Don’t speak like this here.”
“Offending people, how will the children get along in this class in the future?”
Quentin remained silent.
Charlotte was too soft and kind-hearted.
In this world, it’s not about giving an inch and expecting three in return. More often than not, people tend to take advantage!
If he didn’t resolve this matter now, Janessa and Theo would continue to suffer.
Today, he would subdue these people.
“Oh, you’re the parents of these two little bastards? So young, yet so cocky,” Mrs. Rosario sneered, “I heard you two had children out of wedlock?”
“Tsk tsk… What kind of society is this now? Can’t believe such people still exist? Shameless!”
Quentin immediately slapped her. Mrs. Rosario’s face reddened from the blow. “Lady, you’re really ill-bred to spew nothing but filth.”
“You! You!” Mrs. Rosario was furious. “You’re barbaric…”
Quentin struck her again, turning Mrs. Rosario’s face into a swollen mess.
Quentin elegantly withdrew his hand, his cold gaze sweeping over the room.
He spoke sternly, “I don’t know what rumors others have spread at school, but from today onwards, whoever dares to bully my children, whether adult or child, I, Quentin, will not rest until it’s resolved!”
“I’m easy to get along with. As long as you keep your mouths shut and don’t bully my children, everything can be discussed.”
Quentin’s dominance silenced everyone in the room, even Mrs. Rosario, who now only covered her face, dare not speak again.
Riya looked at the man before her, feeling somewhat speechless. Anyone admitted to this kindergarten had some background, some wealth. They were all influential figures in society. Who would come up and slap someone like Quentin did? It was indeed… a bit barbaric.
But satisfying!
A gossipmonger like Mrs. Rosario deserved it.
“You! You’re simply… barbaric and unreasonable!”
Mrs. Rosario shouted furiously, covering her face. “Just wait! I’ll have someone deal with you! Just wait! My husband knows a lot of people!”
“Suit yourself.”
Quentin sneered.
“Enough.”
Just then, Ruben walked out slowly, a faint smile on his face. “Let’s give each other some respect and let this matter rest, shall we?”
“All our children are classmates in the same class. Children will be children, playing and fighting is normal. But as adults, it’s not good to let things escalate too much.”
Mrs. Rosario’s face was ugly, filled with reluctance. But with Ruben acting as the peacemaker, she had to agree.
Ruben smiled at Quentin, “Brother, how about this? Apologize to Mrs. Rosario, and we’ll consider this matter settled.”
“Otherwise, if things escalate, no one will benefit, right? Sometimes it’s best to let things go, don’t you agree?”
