Zaid trembled, “We… haven’t yet pinpointed the exact location.”
Quentin snorted. Suddenly, Zaid felt as if a boulder had struck his chest, stumbling back a few steps with blood trickling from the corner of his mouth!
“Useless! Stresall is so mall. Can’t even track down a gang of thugs. What good are you then? If my two children were injured, I would hold all of you accountable!”
“Yes!” Zaid immediately knelt, respectfully reporting, “Actually, we’ve identified several suspects. We’ll soon gather them up.”
“Give me more time.”
“Although these thugs are cunning, we’re tracing their rough location.”
“They’ve hidden in the mountains. It’ll take time to flush them out.”
Quentin fell silent, waved his hand, and dismissed him.
He lit a cigarette, feeling anxious. These thugs were after money, so they wouldn’t dare harm his children directly.
He had people investigating their backgrounds. Only when everything was ready would he strike. After all, his two children were still in their hands.
Meanwhile, at the Pittman family’s rental house.
A Porsche stopped in front of the Pittman residence. A middle-aged man stepped out.
The man approached Charlotte’s door and politely asked, “Which one is Miss Pittman?”
“That’s me!” Charlotte stood up.
“Mr. Duncan has sent me to escort you for the wedding in two days,” the middle-aged man said courteously.
Charlotte’s face turned pale. She nodded reluctantly.
She had no choice now…
For the safety of her two children, she could only give in.
“Let’s go…” The middle-aged man gestured, and Charlotte followed like a zombie.
Deep in the mountains, late at night, all was quiet!
Scar and the others took turns keeping watch, not daring to be careless or lazy.
What they were doing now was a matter of life and death!
They wouldn’t gamble with their lives! So they had to remain vigilant!
Though, given Charlotte’s character, she really wouldn’t dare to call the police…
But what if something unexpected happened?
A cold wind blew. Janessa shivered, her small body trembling. “Brother… when will Dad and Mom come to rescue us?”
“Janessa is so cold, so scared!”
Although these thugs hadn’t harmed them yet, Janessa felt danger looming.
Theo took off his jacket and draped it over his sister. “Don’t be afraid, Dad and Mom will come for sure. Even if they can’t come, I’ll protect you.”
His dark eyes were resolute.
The next day, in the upper circles of Stresall, a surprising piece of news spread quickly: Frank Duncan, the young master of the Duncan family, was about to marry Charlotte Pittman.
The wedding was set for tomorrow!
This sudden news left many people stunned.
It’s too sudden!
At the Holland Residence, Eileen hurried in and found Quentin sitting there, brow furrowed.
She hesitated, unsure if she should mention it. Quentin was already stressed about the children. Did he need to hear about this too?
“Eileen, do you have something to report?”
Quentin raised his eyes. “Is there news about my children?”
Eileen shook her head. After a few seconds of hesitation, she reluctantly reported, “There are rumors outside that Madam is going to marry Frank soon.”
Upon hearing this, Quentin stood up abruptly, his aura turning chillingly serious. “Is this confirmed?”
“It’s mostly true.” Eileen nodded with difficulty.
At that moment, it felt like a sharp blade had pierced Quentin’s heart!
He stood frozen for a few seconds before pulling out his phone. He had to find out the truth!
