She deliberately emphasized words like cheap, affordable, and value, her expression was playful and arrogant.
The implication was clear, she was reminding Quentin: you’re just a broke guy!
“Oh, really?”
Facing Kelly’s mockery, Quentin didn’t take it to heart, and calmly asked, “So, may I inquire what kind of cars this shop has?”
“I’d like to see if I can afford any.”
Kelly chuckled, “Mr. Holland, why don’t you face reality? Just because you’re called Mr. Holland, do you really think you’re somebody important?”
“As for the Holland family’s bankruptcy, who in Cronard doesn’t know about it?”
“Are you still puffing up in front of me, don’t you find it ridiculous?”
Quentin smiled calmly, “What are you, anyway? Why should I puff up in front of you. You’re really overestimating yourself.”
His words infuriated Kelly Sanford.
“Alright, then let’s see, Mr. Holland, what can you afford!” Kelly sneered.
“Suit yourself.”
“Mind your own business and stop meddling. Are you the customer or am I the customer? Don’t act like I owe you something.”
Although Quentin usually couldn’t be bothered with them, when it came to verbal sparring, who could match him?
“You really don’t know your place. Miss Sanford is the sales champion here, making over a million annually. If it weren’t for you being Miss Sanford’s classmate, do you even have the qualification to stand in front of Miss Sanford?”
A woman behind Kelly sneered.
“First, what cars Mr. Holland wants to buy is none of your concern. Second, when Mr. Holland is talking to your manager, what right does a lackey like you have to butt in? Is this how you do business?” Eileen stared at them coldly.
“You…” The woman turned red with embarrassment.
“I won’t waste my breath with someone like you. It’s pointless, and I don’t have the time,” Kelly sneered, “I just want to see if Mr. Holland’s confidence matches his ability to buy a car. I hope you don’t disappoint me later.”
“What cars Mr. Holland buys has nothing to do with you. Who do you think you are? Disappoint you? Don’t flatter yourself.” Eileen retorted coldly.
She wouldn’t have any mercy for someone like this.
Not slapping her across the face right then and there was already showing her mercy.
Just then, a young couple walked in, calling out to a waiter as soon as they entered.
“Hey, Mr. Patel, you’re here?”
Seeing the newcomers, Kelly immediately turned around, putting on a false smile to greet them.
The newcomer was Frederick Patel, a local playboy who often came here to buy cars for the mistresses he kept, making him one of Kelly’s regulars.
“Quentin, I don’t have time to deal with a loser like you. Figure it out yourself,” Kelly sneered, “The commission I’ll get from Mr. Patel buying a car will be more than what you can afford for one.”
There’s a commission for selling cars, and she wouldn’t miss out on a big client like Frederick. As for Quentin, let him be.
Kelly turned to the others, sneering, “Anyone want to introduce some cars to the Holland family’s young master? But he might not even have the money.”
Hearing her, the other salespeople weren’t interested either. They cast a disdainful glance at Quentin before lazily walking away.
“No one wants to introduce cars to me?” Quentin remained indifferent.
“Quentin, let’s just go,” Charlotte Pittman sighed. She didn’t want to see Quentin being laughed at there.
It made her uncomfortable.
“Let’s go then,” Quentin couldn’t be bothered to stay here any longer.
“Sir, would you like to buy this place?” Eileen was really annoyed, “Buy this car dealership and kick them out.” She whispered.
“No need,” Quentin waved his hand.
“Sir, please wait!” Just then, a timid voice spoke up, “May I try serving you?”
An eighteen or nineteen-year-old girl gathered her courage and stepped forward.
“Oh?”
Quentin turned to look at the girl, smiling, “Aren’t you afraid of angering your manager?”
“I… I need the money.” The girl seemed to summon a lot of courage. She hadn’t closed a deal this month yet. Previously, she accidentally offended the manager, and since then, the manager had been making things difficult for her. Plus, she wasn’t familiar with the business, so she hadn’t closed a deal yet.
But she really needed the money!
“Alright!” Quentin nodded slightly, “Then please introduce the cars to me.”
“Our store is divided into three floors. The first floor sells cars ranging from tens of thousands to two hundred thousand. The second floor has cars priced between two hundred fifty thousand and five hundred thousand.”
“The third floor mainly sells cars priced over five hundred thousand.”
The girl introduced earnestly.
“Take me directly to the third floor!” Quentin glanced up.
Hearing Quentin’s words, everyone present was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter.
“Are you serious?” Kelly obviously heard what he said, “Can you afford it? You’re just showing off here. You’ll be the one embarrassed in the end!”
