When Cortez saw Clark, his heart skipped a beat. He quickly approached and bowed, “Mr. Wilson, you’re here–”
“Mm,” Clark nodded indifferently. “Have you chosen a partner?”
“Yes, we have!” Cortez wiped off a bead of sweat.
“Mr. Wilson!” Sariah immediately stepped forward and greeted with a smile. “I’m Sariah, and I’m delighted to have gained your company’s recognition.”
Sariah? Clark’s gaze flickered. Shouldn’t it be Charlotte? How could he salvage this situation?
He couldn’t afford to drop the ball on what Quentin had instructed him to do. “Bring me all the proposals. I’ll personally review all of them.”
“Oh? Well…” Cortez was taken aback.
“Is there an issue?” A powerful aura emanated from Clark.
“N-No, no problem!” Cortez, sensing trouble, didn’t dare to utter a single word.
Below, someone chimed in, “Yeah, Mr. Owen, show us all the proposals. Let’s see if this one truly deserves recognition.”
“A big company like the Spicurity Group shouldn’t have any insider information, right?”
“We demand transparency.”
Many voices joined in.
Sariah sneered mockingly, “You all can’t handle it? Can’t admit it? A bunch of useless, self-righteous people.”
She exuded confidence. “Today, I’ll make you acknowledge the greatness of a real proposal!”
After speaking, she directly placed the proposal on the projector and turned it on.
“Don’t…” Cortez’s heart trembled.
“Let her show it!” Clark’s tone turned icy. “Do you have something to hide?”
Cortez obediently stayed silent, sweat pouring down his face. But he quickly devised a plan. Since the proposal had Sariah’s name on it now, what did it matter even if Charlotte exposed it? He just needed to deny any knowledge of it. He believed Clark wouldn’t take the words of a small fry like her to heart and would surely trust him more!
When the proposal appeared on the projector, many people were stunned.
Sariah was dumbfounded. Mark was instantly dumbstruck.
Charlotte’s eyes widened… ‘It’s my proposal. How did Sariah’s name end up on it?’
Cortez had been scared to the point of having weak legs. Any misstep would lead to his downfall!
Sariah was confused and thought, ‘Why isn’t this my proposal? Could it be Mr. Owen had someone else write a great proposal and put her name on it? Mr. Owen is truly thoughtful.’
After a quick skim, she realized that the proposal was actually well done…
“Look! This is the project proposal I’ve created! It absolutely deserves recognition! Now, are you convinced?”
Sariah wore an arrogant expression, greatly satisfying her vanity as she observed the dumbfounded expressions of the others.
Her words were filled with a strong sense of superiority.
Then she turned her gaze towards Charlotte. “Charlotte, why don’t you learn a thing or two? Stop embarrassing yourself in the future!”
“Having been classmates with someone like you is embarrassing…”
“You’ve tarnished the Pittman family’s reputation!” Nikolas muttered under his breath.
“Get lost!” Georgia angrily shouted at Charlotte.
However, Charlotte remained calm, taking a deep breath before slowly standing up…
Clark narrowed his eyes. What was Mrs. Pittman planning to do?
Under everyone’s gaze, Charlotte spoke slowly and deliberately, “I have objections to this result…”
“Because…”
“I wrote this proposal!”
In an instant, everyone’s expressions changed, followed by bursts of laughter.
Has this woman gone crazy?
She wrote it?
It clearly bears Sariah’s name!
How shameless can she be? She’s made herself believe her own lies!
However, upon hearing this, Clark, Cortez, and Sariah felt their hearts skip a beat!
