Upon hearing these words, Charlotte smiled confidently and said, “How would we know if we don’t give it a try?”
Sariah, Charlotte’s high school classmate, used to envy Charlotte’s grades, family background, and beauty during their time in high school. Charlotte always managed to outshine Sariah, leaving her in second place. Sariah had always held a strong resentment towards Charlotte, and their conflict continued to this day. This animosity grew even worse after the incident that led to Charlotte’s expulsion from the Pittman family.
“Heh, give it a try? Are you even worthy? Do you still think of yourself as the former Miss Pittman? What a delusional dream!” Sariah sneered.
“Furthermore…”
“Even if the Pittman family were here today, they still wouldn’t be able to win this project.” Sariah boasted, full of confidence.
Sariah’s male companion by her side chuckled and asked, “Is this the so-called old rival you mentioned?”
“She used to be, but not anymore,” Sariah said dismissively. “Thanks to you, my dear, I was able to complete so many tasks quickly.”
Mark Edwards smiled and reassured her, “Don’t worry, darling. As a member of the Edwards family, I still have some influence. Mr. Owen has already promised me this project.”
“Thank you, my love. I will definitely reward you when we get back…” Sariah was filled with excitement.
Winning this project would greatly elevate her status within the company.
“Charlotte, you are an illiterate who never even went to college. Who gave you the audacity to come here? Hurry back home and take care of your two bastards!” Sariah taunted, her words stabbing Charlotte’s heart like a nail.
Charlotte fell silent and decided to walk away. Engaging with these people would be pointless.
Sariah smirked, feeling triumphant as she confidently strode forward. Those people were filled with fighting spirit, unaware that the project had already been decided. She couldn’t help but laugh inwardly.
Entering the meeting room, Charlotte found it already filled with competitors, all involved in the project’s collaboration.
Charlotte felt the pressure, despite having confidence in her project proposal. It would still be a close call.
“Oh, look who actually showed up?” Nikolas and Georgia couldn’t help but smirk upon seeing Charlotte.
“You really have no self-awareness,” Georgia rolled her eyes. “A high school graduate like you, having the audacity to create a proposal. Hahaha… Don’t embarrass the Pittman family!”
Charlotte lowered her head.
Those words hit a sore spot for her.
She hadn’t been able to attend college due to the two babies she had. It was a lifelong pity for her.
However, she had never regretted choosing to have babies.
For her, those two children were angels brought into her life by heaven.
“An educational background doesn’t define everything,” Charlotte said calmly. She clenched her fists secretly.
Exactly at twelve o’clock, a middle-aged man in a suit, exuding an air of confidence, stepped onto the main seat. He was Cortez Owen, the project manager.
“Mr. Owen has arrived.”
Mark whispered softly, “Rest assured, victory will be ours.”
Sariah was also brimming with confidence.
After all, the Edwards family was one of the top four richest families. Even if it was just a name, Cortez wouldn’t dare to disrespect them, would he?
Only Charlotte was anxious and restless.
Meanwhile, in the chairman’s office, Clark suddenly remembered something…
Today was the day that Mr. Holland mentioned, the day when the project’s partner would be selected.
“I have so many things on my mind. I completely forgot to inform Cortez!”
“Never mind, I should personally go and check…”
