Chapter 50: Charity Gala

Quentin wryly smiled to himself. His casually fabricated excuse had been believed. Yet, his honest words were dismissed as lies… Truly speechless.
He casually fabricated a reason, “I have a friend in the War Department, and I asked him to settle this matter. After all, Nehemiah has been committing numerous wrongdoings for years, and the War Department has long been aware of it…”
“Just happened to seize the opportunity this time.”
“See, I told you he’s just bragging!” Emma and the others looked even more disdainful.
Quentin smiled faintly and couldn’t be bothered to argue.
Charlotte nodded slightly. “Just don’t do such dangerous things in the future.”
“Okay.” Being cared for by Charlotte, Quentin felt a warmth in his heart.
“Now that everything is settled, you should go back first,” Charlotte quickly resumed her indifferent demeanor.
Quentin nodded slightly.
Downstairs, Eileen was already sitting in the car, waiting for Quentin to get in. As soon as Quentin got into the back seat, she started the car and reported, “Sir, the charity gala hosted by Alisha and her team is about to begin.”
“And, I heard they plan to auction off the ancestral treasure of the Holland family, the Dragon and Phoenix Bracelet, as a donation to the ‘charity’ fund.”
Upon hearing Eileen’s words, Quentin’s expression turned cold. “She’s worthy? She has no right to touch anything of the Holland family!”
The Dragon and Phoenix Bracelet was the token of love between Quentin’s parents, and it was also the token his mother gave to his fiancee Alisha.
Unbeknownst to him, his parents regarded her as family and treated her as their daughter, but in the end, this heartless woman caused their downfall!
He hadn’t liked Alisha from the beginning, but she had won over his parents’ favor and eventually became his fiancee through every means possible.
It seemed that the conspiracy five years ago was also planned by the two of them together.
He couldn’t let them off…
“Tonight, many celebrities from Stresall will personally attend.”
“It’s a grand banquet.”
“And it’s also the first time Alisha has officially stepped into the upper class circles after taking over the Zeustimes Group.”
“She owes the Holland family, and I will make her spit everything out as it is.” Quentin said lightly.
“Also, sir, your appointment letter has been issued, and some big figures from the Eastern Region have already caught wind of it.”
“Has my identity been leaked?”
“Not really, as per your request, we haven’t leaked your identity, but some big figures should have some clues…”
“It doesn’t matter! I believe they wouldn’t dare to leak it easily,” Quentin said coldly.
“Tonight, I will turn this charity gala into a joke.”
“Spread the word that I, the Governor of the Eastern Region, have arrived in Stresall.”
A smirk appeared at the corner of Quentin’s mouth.
Dealing with them directly would be too easy, he wanted these people to gradually feel despair…
Eight o’clock in the evening.
Shirie Hotel.
The vehicles were lined up in front of the door, and the scene was bustling with people coming and going, all of whom were prominent figures in the city.
Alisha, dressed in a purple evening gown, exuded an exceptionally noble and aloof aura.
Beside her, Corey was also in a high-end tailor-made suit, looking rather pleased with himself.
They were like a match made in heaven.
Below, there were three thousand guests, enjoying themselves and creating a lively atmosphere.
The host today was none other than Alisha, who had inherited the Zeustimes Group, and along with the top four richest families, had successfully swallowed up the Holland family.
She had become nouveau richet of Stresall. Everyone would show her some respect in some way.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great honor to have you all attend the charity gala that I am hosting. Now, please everyone, be quiet for a moment,” Alisha walked confidently onto the stage, capturing the attention of everyone present.
