“Please don’t cause any trouble when we get there. After all, they are still my family, and I don’t want things to get too tense,” Charlotte cautioned.
“They kicked you out, and bully you? You still regard them as family?” Quentin stood up for her. In his opinion, the Pittman family wasn’t a good bunch, to have treated Charlotte’s family so cruelly.
“Isn’t it all because of you?!” Charlotte shot him a glance, her pretty face blushing slightly.
Quentin fell silent. From his perspective, the Pittman family was a despicable bunch, to have completely wiped out Charlotte’s family. The way they acted yesterday, especially Georgia, made him develop an intense disgust toward the Pittman family.
“Well, to be honest, my family has always wanted to be admitted into the Pittman family again,” Charlotte admitted. “We just don’t know when we’ll have that chance.”
“It’s my father’s wish, and mine too.”
For all these years, because of her, her parents and younger brother had suffered immensely, and she felt incredibly guilty about it. If they could return to the Pittman family and have their protection, they wouldn’t have to struggle anymore. Although the Pittman family was only a third-rate family, being part of the Pittman family would at least guarantee their basic necessities.
“If you really want to return to the Pittman family, I will help you,” Quentin said.
“Forget it,” Charlotte shook her head. “Right now, you can’t even take care of yourself, you’re penniless. How can you help me? You’d better get a decent job!”
“I don’t want people to say that our children’s father is an unemployed drifter!”
“The Holland family has fallen, and you alone cannot fight against them. So, prepare yourself well for a fresh start in life.” She let out a long sigh.
Quentin nodded slightly. He would naturally revenge the Holland family. He would make sure the culprits paid the price they deserved!
Tonight was the night of Alisha’s charity gala, the celebration the cheating couple had been waiting for. But their good times were about to end.
Lost in their thoughts, Quentin and Charlotte arrived at the Pittman mansion. It was enormous, worth millions of dollars for the estate alone.
Charlotte led Quentin inside.
“Oh, look who it is, you shameless woman dares to come back?” a brazen voice came from across.
“And she even brought a dickhead along. So shameless!”
As soon as they entered, a young man in his twenties walked over, his gaze icy as he glanced at Charlotte. “Wretched woman, you’ve disgraced our Pittman family. Get out!”
Charlotte looked embarrassed. “Lukas, I’m your sister…”
“Sister? You don’t even deserve it!” Lukas sneered. “You’re nothing more than a woman who was raped and gave birth to two bastards. How dare you call yourself my sister?”
“Get lost! Or I’ll have someone throw you out immediately!” His words were filled with venom, showing no respect for Charlotte.
“Apologize to your sister!” Quentin’s voice turned cold as he stepped forward.
“Who the hell are you? Babbling in front of me?” Lukas raised his hand, ready to strike. His posture was extremely arrogant.
“I’ll slap the shit out of you!”
With one swift kick, Quentin sent him flying, solidly hitting his chest, nearly knocking out Lukas.
“This is just a lesson for you. If you disrespect Charlotte again, I will make sure you know what regret truly feels like.”
“You…” Lukas wanted to retaliate, but seeing Quentin’s cold and stern gaze, he swallowed his words.
One mustn’t suffer losses in front of a strong opponent!
Quentin took Charlotte’s hand and walked inside.
For some reason, at this moment, Charlotte felt an unprecedented sense of security…
The feeling of being protected was truly wonderful!
