Chapter 29: Taking Credit

Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-6-5

Quentin glanced coldly at him. “You reap what you sow.”
If it hadn’t been for their arrogant behavior and his own illegal doings, he wouldn’t have ended up in this situation!
Quentin turned to the hospital president and said, “Please arrange a ward for my child immediately.”
“Yes, yes!” Mr. Harrison showed great respect. “Mr. Holland, this way, please!”
He glanced back at Krista and Kolby and spoke with a sudden coldness, “Get rid of these scoundrels for me!”
“Yes.” Several strong men received the order and promptly escorted them out…
It was too late to regret it.
Mr. Harrison immediately prepared the best wards for Quentin’s children, and the finest doctors in the hospital were called in to treat Theo’s illness.
Janessa also received top-level therapy for her injuries.
Soon, Theo’s condition stabilized. Janessa’s scars were also treated successfully.
As Quentin watched their sleeping faces, he gently covered them with a blanket, his eyes moist with deep remorse.
When they were babbling, he hadn’t been by their side!
When they took their first steps, he wasn’t there either!
During the time when they needed paternal love the most, he hadn’t been there…
This time, when he returned, he must make up for all the lost time with them!
Charlotte was dumbfounded by everything that had happened.
Why was Quentin treated with such respect? Even the prominent figures in Stresall might not receive such treatment.
“Why is Mr. Harrison so respectful towards you?” she asked with confusion.
“I’m not sure either,” Quentin smiled. “Perhaps he misunderstood something. Initially, I wanted to deny it, but then I thought that if I did, Theo and Janessa wouldn’t recover as quickly. So I decided to just bite the bullet.”
“Really?” Charlotte looked skeptical.
“Yes, why would Mr. Harrison show such respect to me? There’s no reason for it.”
Charlotte stopped asking further questions, as Quentin’s explanation made sense.
After all, Quentin was no longer the young heir of the Holland family he used to be. The hospital director had no reason to treat him that way. There must be some misunderstanding involved.
“I’m sorry for the loss of your parents, but the deceased are gone, and the living must continue their lives,” Charlotte comforted him. “If you have anything bothering you, you can always talk to me.”
“Thank you.” Quentin felt a sense of solace. The thought of his parents’ gruesome deaths caused a surge of pain in his heart. The top four richest families must be destroyed!
He would make them regret everything! In the coming days, his primary task would be to accompany Charlotte and their children and seek revenge on the major families!
A few minutes later, Charlotte went out to take a call from Emma. She briefly explained what had happened today.
At that moment, Eileen walked in and whispered, “Mr. Holland, your request has been approved.”
“The coronation ceremony will be canceled.”
“However, to acknowledge your long-standing meritorious service, the higher-ups unanimously agreed to appoint you as the Governor of the Eastern Region.” Quentin furrowed his brow.
Eileen noticed his concern and reassured him, “Don’t worry, as the governor, you won’t need to handle administrative matters personally.”
“The existing systems in the Eastern Region will remain unchanged.”
Only then did Quentin nod.
“Anufast government will announce this matter to the world tomorrow.”
“Tell them to keep it low-key and not to reveal my name,” Quentin waved his hand.
“Yes.”
Quentin understood that his position as the Governor of the Eastern Region was more of a honorary title than anything else.
Although he would be the only person to govern the Eastern Region in a century, it was still better to avoid attracting too much attention.
Charlotte quickly returned, looking flustered. “I have an urgent matter at home. Stay here and take care of them for me.”
“Alright, be careful on your way. Eileen, please escort my wife.” Upon hearing the word “wife,” a blush appeared on Charlotte’s face, but she didn’t refute the statement.

Charlotte’s family felt relieved when they saw her return.
“Alas, you didn’t even inform us when such a big thing happened,” Emma scolded.
“Mom, it’s all over now. Everything is fine,” Charlotte reassured them.
“Thanks to Eric, you and your children are saved.” Emma hurriedly spoke up.
Charlotte paused for a moment, taken aback by Emma’s words.
“Charlotte, long time no see.” Soon, a young man walked out from inside.
Charlotte nodded in astonishment. To Charlotte’s surprise, it was Eric Spencer, her high school classmate.
“Charlotte, when I heard about your situation today, I immediately informed my buddies in the military. They mobilized their troops and stormed Glustead Mansion, all for my sake. I’m glad to see that you’re safe!”
Charlotte was slightly stunned. So it was because of Eric that such a grand operation was launched by the military?
Emma chimed in, “Oh, Charlotte, why are you just standing there? Thank Eric and show some gratitude. He used his connections to help you, even owing his friends a favor.”
“It’s not a big deal as long as I can help Charlotte,” Eric boasted, patting his chest.
In reality, he had no idea about any of this beforehand. He had come to visit, and Emma took advantage of the situation to have him claim credit in front of Charlotte.
Charlotte felt a bit awkward. “Thank you, Eric,” she said.
Although she had no feelings for Eric, she had to at least show some gratitude. After all, he had saved her and her children.
Eric looked at Charlotte affectionately. “Charlotte, you’ve always known my feelings for you. I came here this time to…”
