Chapter 24: To the Hospital

“You’re mistaken,” Quentin said calmly. “But it’s true that the information I provided led them to target Glustead Mansion. This time, Roberto and his gang were simply unfortunate.”
Upon hearing Quentin’s words, Charlotte found them reasonable and nodded in agreement.
Quentin had been gone for several years, and the Holland family had gone bankrupt. Even the Holland couple had jumped off a building to their deaths… Given his current status, how could he have any contact with figures like Captain Riley? It must have been her imagination just now.
“Dad, Mom, Theo’s head feels so hot…” Janessa suddenly looked up and spoke.
Both Quentin and Charlotte were startled.
“He has a fever,” Quentin immediately touched Theo’s head and his expression turned serious. “We need to take him to the hospital right away.”
Charlotte’s face showed concern as she tightly held Theo’s hand.
Eileen promptly opened the car door, and without hesitation, Quentin carried both of them into the car…
When Quentin and the others arrived at the hospital, there was a long queue outside.
“You two go sit for a while. I’ll carry Theo and wait in line to register for a number,” Quentin said. “You look tired, take a rest.”
Seeing Quentin’s attentive expression, Charlotte felt touched, and she nodded slightly.
They waited for about thirty minutes before Quentin finally received a number.
After paying the registration fee, they headed straight to the pediatric department.
“Another long queue, so troublesome!” Charlotte anxiously remarked.
“It’s alright, we just need to wait a little longer,” Quentin replied, equally anxious. He gently touched Theo’s head, showing a tender expression.
Theo had too many wounds on his body.
Some of the wounds were already infected, which caused the fever.
Just the thought of it made Quentin furious!
Those bastards from Glustead Mansion were truly heartless. They even targeted such a young child.
His own child was so young, yet he had to endure such suffering. It was maddening!
If it weren’t for the presence of his children and Charlotte earlier, he would have personally taken care of those bastards!
“Dad, we’re not in a hurry. I am a brave young man, I’m not afraid,” Theo looked up and blinked at Quentin.
His dark eyes were full of resilience.
“Good! Theo is a brave young man!” Quentin was delighted. Theo was indeed a very sensible child. At such a young age, he knew how to protect his little sister and had a strong personality that surpassed most boys his age.
That’s why Quentin’s heart ached… While other children of the same age were having their parents’ protection, he, at such a tender age, had to bear such immense pressure!
This only strengthened his determination to compensate for the hardships his wife and children had endured during his absence…
They had suffered far too much during these years he was gone…
Time swiftly passed. Finally, it was Quentin’s turn.
The doctor on duty was a woman with a slim face, high cheekbones, thin lips, and a stern expression that gave off a harsh vibe.
Quentin spoke up, “Doctor, my son…”
The female doctor slammed her notebook shut, her tone unfriendly. “I’m off duty. If you need medical attention, go somewhere else.”
“You-” Quentin was filled with anger, his eyebrows furrowing. “What kind of attitude is this? And it’s not even time for you to finish work yet.”
“There are still twenty minutes until my shift ends. I’m tired now. If I go to the restroom and come back, I’ll be off duty. Is that not acceptable?” The female doctor sneered.
“Do doctors have no human rights? Do doctors have to be criticized by you on the moral high ground? You idiot!” After saying that, Krista gave Quentin a disdainful look and stood up.
Her attitude not only angered Quentin but also the people waiting in line behind him.
Quentin touched Theo’s forehead. It was getting hotter, and his anger grew stronger. This woman was worthy of being a doctor?
“Is this the attitude you are having?” he coldly questioned.
“This is the attitude I have. So what? You want to sue me? Can you even do it?” Krista sneered. “You pauper, who do you think you are? Even if you kneel before me today, I won’t treat him!”
