Only then did Violet stop glaring at him and withdrew her gaze, then thought of something and frowned, “I don’t know how it is over at Jessie, for the past two days, she hasn’t even been in contact with me, I don’t know if it’s good or bad.”
“It’s not bad.” Stanley folded his legs.
Violet looked at him, “Why?”
“No news is the best news.” He said, “If something really happened to the Robinson family, there’s no way they wouldn’t have contacted you, even if Jessie wouldn’t have, her parents would have, but neither of them have, which only means that there’s nothing going on with them, so don’t think too much about it.”
“But it’s the lack of news, I don’t know how they are, that’s why I can’t let go in my heart.” Violet rubbed her temples and said with some hurt feelings.
Stanley said comfortingly, “There’s nothing to worry about, didn’t I say that as long as there’s no news from them, then look on the bright side, besides, didn’t I also arrange people in their vicinity to protect them secretly all the time?”
Hearing the man say that, Violet felt relieved, “You’re right, I’m the one who scared myself.”
“Well I know you care about the Robinson family, but don’t make yourself so worried.” Stanley said as he reached out, rubbing her hair.
Violet laughed, “Fine, fine, I won’t think nonsense anymore, alright?”
“That’s right.” Stanley raised his chin slightly.
Then, his phone rang.
Stanley took out his phone and glanced at it, his eyebrows frowning slightly.
“What’s wrong?” Violet stopped drinking milk and asked with a concerned expression.
Stanley’s brow stretched, “It’s Ivan’s mother calling me.”
“Ivan’s mother?” Violet was surprised, “Why is she calling you?”
Kelley had left the Murphy family since Sam’s death, as if she had disappeared.
If it wasn’t for Stanley saying she was calling now, Violet felt she would have forgotten about this person.
For this Kelley, Violet had little ill feeling, but no joy either.
She couldn’t forget what happened when Kelley called her to the cafe for an interview, and the way that Kelley looked so high and mighty the whole time was really impressive.
Of course, apart from that, Kelley hadn’t done anything bad to her.
“I don’t know.” Stanley shook her head slightly, “But after she left the Murphy family, she didn’t have anything to do with the Murphy family anymore, so reasonably speaking, she shouldn’t have the need to contact me, but now she’s calling me instead, so there should be something going on.”
“I think so.” Violet nodded, then urged, “Then pick up and see what exactly she’s up to.”
Stanley answered the call.
Violet just looked at him.
About a few minutes later, Stanley pursed thin lips and put the phone down.
Violet sat up straight and hurriedly asked, “What did she say?”
“She asked me to leave Ivan alive.” Stanley’s voice was cold as he replied.
Violet’s face was filled with confusion, “Leave Ivan alive? What does she mean by that? We didn’t catch Ivan, nor did we kill him, why did she say that? ”
“She told me that Ivan contacted her the other day.” Stanley narrowed his eyes and said.
Violet blinked, “Didn’t Ivan already have no contact with her? And didn’t Ivan himself say that he didn’t consider Sam and her as his parents, and his parents didn’t have much affection for him, now how could…”
“I don’t know what they think, she just said that the other day Ivan suddenly found her contact information and said a final goodbye to her.” Stanley shook his head slightly and said.
Violet was surprised, “A final goodbye?”
Stanley nodded, “I never told you, some time ago, Ivan had someone send me a challenge letter, of course, rather than a challenge letter, it should be a duel letter.”
“What do you mean?” Violet froze for a moment, and a bad feeling rose up in her heart.
A duel letter?
Ivan wouldn’t want to fight a duel with Stanley, and use his illness as a bet, right?
The next second, Stanley confirmed her suspicions, “Ivan has little patience, at first, he was willing to play cat and mouse, but as time goes by, he will only become more and more impatient, the cat and mouse game simply cannot continue to play, so he will give me a challenge letter, want to have a final duel with me. And for this duel, either he dies or I die.”
Violet’s pupils instantly contracted, “No, Stanley, you absolutely cannot fight him hard, what if something happens to you?”
She was so anxious.
Stanley patted her hand, “Don’t worry, I’m in control, and it’s not that time yet, but Ivan seems to be very sure that I will fight him to the death, so I guess, because of this, he called his mother to say a final goodbye, and his mother contacted me after a few days of agonizing, wanting me to spare Ivan’s life, because his mother knew that if Ivan and I went up against each other, there would only be one real winner, and that would be me, and in terms of power, Ivan was no match for me.”
Although Ivan also had big amount of power, that power, at most, only allowed Ivan to hide.
But if he wanted to really go up against him, it would be somewhat unrealistic.
Ivan himself knew this, otherwise why would he be hiding instead of just fighting his way through?
Hearing that, Violet bit her lower lips, “They are mother and son, so that is why Ivan got in touch with his mother, and it’s possible that his mother has found some of her motherly love for Ivan and is begging you to show him mercy. Sometimes it is just hard to understand, just like Jessie and George.”
Stanley lifted his chin, “Maybe.”
“Stanley.” Violet looked at Stanley, “I know you’ll win, but I’m afraid Ivan will play dirty, you must be careful then.”
She was clear that there was a battle destined between their two cousins, it was unavoidable.
Even without her, the two would still have a battle, as they were both the third generation of the Murphy family.
So this was a battle that was bound to be fought between them.
She couldn’t stop them from not fighting on, so the only thing she could do was to hope that Stanley would protect himself well and nothing would happen to him.
Otherwise, what should she and the children do?
Looking at Violet’s face full of worry, Stanley’s heart softened.
He stood up, walked to her, wrapped his long arms around her, gently embraced her in his arms, and touched the back of her head with his big hand and said, “Don’t worry, I will be careful, nothing will happen to me, for your sake, for the sake of the children, I will protect myself well, I will never put myself in danger.”
Hearing the man’s assurance, Violet nodded, “Good, I believe you, remember your own words, if something happens to you, me and the children will not be well either, so for the sake of our family, you must all be well.”
“Mm.” Stanley nodded his head.
