So Harry reached out to her, “Do you want to get used to the life of love in advance?”
In that moment, countless fragmented premonitions flashed through Nicola’s mind, and in the end, she reached out her hand, “Okay.”
After taking Nicola back to where she lived, Harry called Patrick, “Have you gone home?”
Patrick’s voice was a bit distorted, “Yes, we have. She cried a lot, and in the end, I carried her back.”
Harry thought to himself, no wonder he hadn’t answered the phone for so long. Turns out he couldn’t free his hands.
“What did Jennifer say?”
“Nothing, she’s not in the hall,” this relieved Patrick, sparing him the trouble of struggling with the other party, “I’m taking her back to her room now.”
“Take good care of her. If you need me, I’ll hand over the affairs over there and come back in a while.”
“How is Nicola?”
“She’s fine. You don’t need to worry about her. She cares more about her own matters than you do, and she can take care of herself.”
“Thank you, Harry. I’m glad to be able to meet you again.”
“You’re welcome, Patrick.”
After hanging up the phone, Patrick gently put Emma on the bed, ready to leave.
Emma really looked very good. As she slept, her nose was rosy, and her mouth, in particular, Patrick remembered the feel of it.
Unconsciously, Emma grabbed his clothes, he tried to pull away, but he couldn’t control himself anymore. He knew how much he wanted to sleep by Emma’s side, holding her all night.
He couldn’t break free, after all, he didn’t want to wake up Emma who was already asleep. So he could only lie down by Emma’s side.
In the dark room, a quiet atmosphere pervaded, he could only hear Emma’s breathing and his own confused heartbeat, he didn’t know if he could fall asleep this night.
When Emma woke up, she found herself nestled next to something warm on the bed.
What was that? Was she hugging a pillow? Emma barely opened her eyes, she smelled a fragrance. It smelled really good. Rich chocolate milk, with a hint of cinnamon, she really liked things that could provide warmth. A faint smile spread across her face, and she deeply breathed in this wonderful scent.
She wasn’t completely awake, she could only feel that it was very warm and comfortable next to her. She hadn’t had such good sleep in a long time, after coming here she had been suffering from insomnia from time to time, she didn’t want to rely on medication, and besides, she didn’t have anything important to do every day, at most she would catch up on sleep during the day, more often than not she didn’t want Patrick to know.
Before the agreed day arrived, they were fair, they didn’t owe each other, she didn’t need his pity and charity.
But now none of this matters, she was enjoying the rich cocoa scent in her nostrils, and the warmth she could rely on next to her. She didn’t want to wake up, she longed to continue this sweet sleep. But then she felt someone’s arm around her.
Emma woke up in an instant.
She opened her eyes and took a deep breath. Oh no, her brain sounded the alarm.
The pillow on the bed was not by her side, it had been kicked to some corner by the owner who had a bad sleeping position, so what she was hugging now was not the pillow. Then who was she cuddling with… Oh, dear goddess.
Emma heard a sound of something collapsing in her body. Perhaps that was reason, she didn’t know why there was a whole Patrick lying next to her. She tried to get away from him, but he tightened his arm even more.
“Don’t fuss, Emma,” he murmured softly, “I want to go back to sleep.”
She widened her eyes. Was this really Patrick? This fact made her feel curious, it turned out an Alpha would also like to stay in bed when he was twenty years old.
“You need to wake up, Patrick,” she said softly, she wasn’t sure if someone else would find out that the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack was waking up in the room of his mother’s partner’s daughter.
This statement was too awkward, she really hated it when people called her Patrick’s sister. It was a constant reminder that she was a ward. “And you shouldn’t be sleeping here.”
“Don’t be like this, Emmie. Let me sleep for two more minutes, just two minutes, I won’t exceed a second.” His head was close to Emma’s arm, murmuring. Her heart skipped a beat, reason told her she should wake Patrick up, but her feelings wanted her to take a good look at Patrick now.
Because such an opportunity would probably not come again in the future.
She staredintently at his face. A twenty-year-old boy with high cheekbones and a sharp jawline. When awake, he looked like someone you’d instinctively want to step back from, but while asleep, his harshness softened, making him look much gentler. When a faint smile appeared on his face, Emma’s heart seemed to skip a million beats.
She felt hot. She thought she needed to leave his embrace, leave this bed.
But what had happened exactly? This was so untimely. Patrick had brought her back last night, and then? What had happened? She couldn’t believe she had slept next to Patrick, couldn’t believe she had woken up next to him. What would happen when he woke up and found her there? Would he punish her? Or would he exile her? Oh, dear goddess.
She didn’t want to think further. He was so handsome that the thought of any negative outcome between them made her uneasy.
“Patrick.” She decided to wake him up, her voice trembling. “It’s been two minutes, you have to wake up now.” This time her voice was a bit louder.
Patrick opened his eyes.
