Around seven hours later, I was seated by the table, my hands fiddling with themselves as my feet repeatedly tapped against the tiled floor. With my body as hot as a volcano and my skin sweating profusely, I peered intently at Kasan’s muscular form through the frazzled auburn strands trickling over most of my vision. Everyone else made it their duty to stare at me from left and right, while he was busy setting the table… not once did he feel the need to glance at me.
He had been the one to rid the living room of garbage, cook a whole bunch of food and now, he was even setting the table. Honestly, I would’ve been more comfortable if he was finding pleasure in staring at me like the others rather than doing such trivial things. Is this what he meant when he said he had things to do and places to be?
How dare he leave me in the middle of our little thing for the sake of this?! Is the word ‘pushover’ marked on my forehead? Or has this been his plan all along?… to get me in this disgracefully needy position then leave me stranded?
Ha! Well, I absolutely will not lose to him. He’ll need to do better than that!
But even after mustering up all that confidence, I still managed to do the unthinkable. The second he reached over my shoulder when he was laying out the dishes, my blue eyes instinctively followed his movements, zooming in on the muscles that flexed in his arms even without much effort.
They looked delicious… like a juicy apple that was just waiting for me to wrap my lips around it and devour it whole. How can one man rob so much attractiveness for himself?
Temptation is definitely something that I can’t fight against when it comes to him.
“Stop that!”
The words left my lips before my brain could even register it. All eyes turned to me… well a particular pair of eyes since everyone else’s attention were already glued to me. While I looked up at him dumbly, he stared down at me with a raised brow and a cheeky smile. Once again, he knew exactly what he was doing to me… And he was now trying to make this worse on purpose.
I cleared my throat, my legs closing in on the heat surrounding my entrance as I crossed one over the other. “Why would you put your armpit over my head? You stink.” I complained, scrunching up my nose in disgust.
That was a lie. And it seemed that I had made it a little too obvious since his smile only lengthened. “I just took a shower.”
Frowning, I lowered my head and turned in my seat so I was facing away from him. Little did he know that the more I looked at him, the more I wanted to just jump on him.
“Whatever.” I glowered down at the innocent table before me and in an attempt to escape the embarassment, I sprouted the first thing that came to mind… again. “And I don’t eat meat so stop filling the table with crap!”
Another lie.
“Really? Then what do you want to eat?”
“I doubt you’d give me anything even if I told you.” I grumbled bitterly. “You’re obviously the stingy type.”
“I always keep my promises. I did say I’d give you anything… Just name it.” I didn’t need to look to know that he was smirking. I could hear it in his voice.
From what I understand, in other words, he is saying that he wants me to stoop as low as to ask… no beg him to finish what we were doing? Seriously?
I looked over my shoulder and settled my best glare on him. As usual, he wasn’t fazed one bit. The jubilance on his face neither depleted nor lessened. He was just standing there… smirking as he stared down at me.
And instead of feeling the urge to slap him, I stupidly felt the urge to just rip his clothes off his body and have him do as I wished. I’m honestly beginning to hate myself.
Damn you Kasan!
“I don’t want anything from you. You can shove your generosity up your ass.”
When his jaw bones flexed and his face surprisingly fixed itself stoically following my words, I felt my insides flitter around triumpantly. This is one of those times where his emotions completely changes in less than a single second. That unpredicatableness of his was still as scary as always.
“Are you sure you both are even talking about food?” Nate piped in, chewing on the small matchstick between his teeth as he looked between us. “If this keeps going, I’m seriously gonna puke.”
I rolled my eyes. I was wondering when he was going to open his wretched mouth. I’ve been here for less than two days and I can already tell that he’s the most annoying person here.
“I thought I was the only one.” The blonde agreed. He’s the same guy I bashed back when I first arrived here. He probably still hates me, seeing as his glare was pretty sharp. Though I suppose nobody else’s could even come close to Kenley’s. He was literally boring holes into my skin! Maybe he has a brother complex? Or he just hates me for no particular reason?
“Alpha, if looks could kill you’d be dead already.” One of Kasan’s goons remarked, looking to Kasan who was now silently sitting in his seat. He waved at me languidly when he caught me staring then returned his hand to his cheek as his blue eyes swarmed with unrestrained boredom.
“Yeah, just give her what she wants.” Another blue-eyed dude spoke up. He and the other lazy-looking guy were probably twins seeing as they have pretty much everything in common except for their height and hair colour.
“What are you all even doing here?” I asked. “Is this a men’s dorm?”
“If you don’t like it, you can leave.” Kenley finally spoke after having kept quiet throughout this whole ordeal.
I glared at him. “It’s not like I want to be here.”
“Then leave.” He looked at me menacingly from under his lashes. “Nobody wants to see you fuck like bunnies anyway.” His downcast gaze sent a creepy chill up my spine. He was obviously more serious than ever. Who the hell stole his favourite candy?
“And why do you care if we fuck like rabbits or run around like hyperactive dogs? That isn’t exactly your business.”
I saw his hands clench atop the table. “A mere human like you should not even be here. How dare you even c-”
“Kenley!” I jolted when the table shook briefly as something striked it from Kasan’s end. I turned my head in his direction to see that he had rammed his table knife straight through the wooden table. His fingers were still clenched around the metal tightly as his eyes followed Kenley’s every movement. “Get out.”
Despite his command, Kenley stayed seated in his chair, his expression filling with complete defiance. The air suddenly became thick with tension and Damon’s aura seemed to darken considerably. I swallowed, watching him as he slowly dispatched his obvious anger unto his features. Again, he still managed to look hot even in such a bad situation.
Before anyone else, Nate seemed to grasp the situation. With an awkward chuckle, he stood from his chair and grabbed Kenley’s hand, pulling him out of his seat.
“Why don’t we eat out today?” Nate suggested, locking arms with him in order to keep him sealed to his side. “The humans have opened another restaurant close to the usual. Wanna try it out?”
Kenley scowled and I mirrored his expression. Do they seriously not consider themselves as humans? Why would he refer to people as humans? Who even does that?
“I’ll take your silence as a yes then. Who else wants to join?”
Whilst everyone else looked amongst themselves in uncertainty, Kasan noisily shoved his seat back and got up.
Questioning glances were thrown at him from all directions, but he only took one nonchalant look at Kenley before he turned on his feet and made his way towards the stairs.
He was obviously angry…. to the point where he probably won’t even take a second to glance at me for the rest of the freaking day. Things just got a whole lot worse, don’t you think?
