***ZANE’S POV***
TWO DAYS LATER
“I need all of my men out there searching for my wife. If you see that fucking cab that took her, I want him here,” I bark out the orders fuming.
It has been two whole days since London left the house and to say the least that I am terrified is a mild act.
I want my wife, to see her, kiss her. Hug her. I need London.
“Yes, Boss,” Reaper answers walking out of the room.
Grabbing my glass of whiskey, I gulp down the amber liquid from it.
My chest hurts so badly, I’ve barely closed my eyes for the two days that London had been away from me.
A knock comes from my office door and with a grunt of approval, I see Micah walk into the room.
“She’s no where, Zane. She could be anywhere. I wonder where my baby sister is right now,” he mutters, blinking his eyes severally.
Taking a deep breathe, I blow it out of my mouth, and direct him to a seat.
This time when Micah walks to me for a drink, I offer him one and watch how he takes a seat and straightens his legs out on the couch.
“I’m not feeling well, Zane. Do you know why London left?” he demands, taking a while to nurse his whiskey.
This was the first time someone was asking me this question and I had to take a break to reason it out for myself.
Is that what I wanted? Did I know why London left?
I asked myself rhetorically.
There were a lot of things I couldn’t explain, but right now, my chest was as clogged as it could get.
My head hurt just from thinking of my wife and baby fighting on their own.
“We had a fight. But I don’t think that is why she left,” I tried explaining.
Micah’s brows creased before he downed all of his drink.
“I think from the footage Reaper showed me, she willingly left on her own accord. It can’t be you,” he mouthed, fighting the urge to cry.
I just can’t fault being with a person like Micah. He doesn’t care who made a mistake, me or his sister, he just wants his baby sister back.
Sometimes, I get so jealous of their relationship, but then, that’s it. I can’t do otherwise about it.
“I promise, Micah, you’ll get London back,” I vowed, crossing my heart.
That seemed to relax him a bit because he drinks a couple of whiskey glasses before standing.
“When are you going out there to look for London yourself?” he asks placing the glass on the table.
“I have my men doing that for me, Micah. But I swear, I will get to the location they give me before the bad guys. I give you my word,” I mutter.
“Why don’t we involve the police?” Micah inquires crossing his arm over his chest.
“No, Micah, we can’t do that. For heaven’s sake. London wouldn’t want us to do that, and with our line of work, the last thing we need is for the police to come snooping down our throats,” I say hoping that he believes me.
“You don’t know what my sister would need, Zane. And I am sorry for saying this but I wonder if you even loved her as you claimed,” he shoots out.
Raising from behind my mahogany desk, I slam my hands hard against the table, my nose flaring with anger.
“The fuck are you talking about, Micah? I will advise you leave right this moment, unless you are thick on getting on my dark side,” I bite out, fuming.
Micah takes a step backward, but he stares dagger into me.
I am not scared of people looking at me. I’ve had worse stares and it goes just fine.
“I’m sorry man, but act like a man whose wife and unborn baby is out there in the world, take responsibility of your actions,” he spits out.
I round my desk and walk towards Micah, hoping to get a fight.
“You would only attack me because you know what I am saying is the truth, Micah. Don’t let me stop you, hit me. What would London say when he sees the true beast in you?” he asks.
Balling my hands into fists, I know I would punch Micah in the faceif care isn’t as much as considered right now.
“Get out, please, this conversation between us is over,” I say, emphasizing on those words.
Micah looks at me for a moment before he says the words I’ve been dreading.
“I heard you hitting London the night before she left. I don’t think my sister even ever left. What if you killed her?” the words leave his mouth as I punch him.
Two more blows and there is a gash on Micah’s nose and blood is running out.
“You son of a bitch. I love your sister,” I bite out.
“Enough to kill her and dump her body somewhere. I wonder if you had the guts to look her in the eyes while life drained from her eyes,” Micah mutters out.
My nerves were gritting with these words he was throwing at me, my mind was going to blow off if I didn’t take him out.
But that would only mean that he is right.
“I didn’t kill her, I did hit her…” I stop when I feel my pain course through my right eye.
Micah had just landed a blow on my face.
“Get the fuck out, Micah” I growl in anger makes me advance with a blind rage that would mean me killing him if I am not careful.
Micah escapes, fuming as he stomps downstairs.
My eyes scan the room as I search for where to transfer my aggression on.
Grabbing my keys out if frustration, I walk out if the house and down the stairs.
“Boss!” my men greeted.
“Caleb, prepare the car, we are going to the club. The rest of you should stay here in case my wife turns up here. I want to be the first person you call when you catch a glimpse of your shadow. Is that understood?” I bark out.
“Yes, Boss. Got you,” they all reply in unison.
*
At the club, the girls were dancing, the patrons were busy drooling over them and I closed my eyes, hoping that the feeling of going back to my old ways would subdue.
“Tiger, Bubble, and Dollars, follow me,” I order as I walk with them towards one of the play room in my club.
This club is just one of the many I have in town.
Am I betraying London by having a good time with other ladies? Maybe yes, but do I give a fuck? No.
If London wanted me to be faithful to her, she would have been here when I needed her and not somewhere else.
It no longer matter what happens here because I was here for a good time.
Entering the play room, the ladies enter and I shut the door behind them.
“I want a dance performance from you ladies. Touch yourselves, play with one another,” I order taking my place on the king size sofa watching them.
The music starts playing and Bubble goes first, dancing and tipping her bra down, just enough for me to see the bulge of her breast, and then her nipple.
Tiger walks towards me and pull her hand down her my shirt. When she pushes it down to my cock, I hold it in place.
Shaking my head, I stop her.
“That’s for my wife,” I spit out angrily.
Tiger’s eyes soften and she nods.
She walks towards Dollars and kiss her. Together, they start playing with each other titties, kissing, sucking and even grazing it with her teeth.
The show the girls were putting up was good but I felt like I was betraying the memories of my wife. This was some totally crazy shit, and I frowned just thinking about it.
“Enough!” I blurted out as perspiration dripped down my forehead.
“What is the matter, boss? Aren’t we doing it well?” I inquire raising my brows together.
“You are. I just need to take a break,” I tell them walking out of the room, but not without leaving a generous tip for them.
Holding my breathe, I decided to make it up to the spare room I keep for when the club is too busy and I need to sleep.
Reaper sees me going on there and he catches up with me.
“I don’t want you here, Reaper. I need to rest my head,” I mutter frowning as he pushes me into the house and close the door behind him.
“You wanted to fuck those girls? Do they remind you of your wife? Do you get the feeling that it could have been her?” he keeps throwing those questions at me.
I want to fight him but I know that is the truth he is spewing out to me. Closing my eyes, I let that anger pass through me.
“I need to calm my fucking head down,” I say trembling a little.
“Or you could go get your wife,” Reaper bark out.
Turning around slowly, I glare at him like he had horns on his head.
“You aren’t bitching me as well. What’s it with everyone around me acting like I don’t love London enough to go after her?” I demand pacing the room frantically.
“Well, because you don’t give off that energy? You could do better, Zane, and you know if you were the one that went missing, London would have not let us rest until we found you,” he says, his brows kneading together as he makes sure he passes his message across.
“What if this is some nonsense game she is trying to play with my head? You saw it, London left me when she entered that cab. If she wanted to stay, she wouldn’t have gone without saying a good bye,” I finish knowing that I just sounded like a dick once more.
Huffing, Reaper walks away from me.
This seems to happen a lot lately. My men leave when I am not in support of going after London.
She has them all by the dick and they don’t even know.
**
A week passes by with so signs of London and now, I haven’t closed my eyes even for a moment.
I am about going out when Reaper, Sinner, Caleb, and Micah badge into my office, towing above me like fucking lunatics.
“What the fuck is wrong with you, Zane? A week without your wife and you still wouldn’t involve the police?” Micah screams at my face.
All my men haven’t had much sleep and I bet they are in a worse situation than I am.
“You don’t talk to me like that. I am trying my best to get her back to me. Do you think it doesn’t bother me not to have my wife around?” I question pushing him away from me.
The men’s eyes are hooded and I know they feel the pain that I am going through.
“I am trying hard guys. I am putting all my resources out there to find my pregnant wife back and it is impossible. It seems as if she has disappeared from the surface of the earth,” I spew out, hiding the weakness from my eyes.
“You think so?” Sinner ask in shock.
“If only we could get the cab driver that took her that day, then we could easily know where she went to,” Caleb muster.
We have tried to find the company that the guy works for but just license plate isn’t registered with any company. It’s as if he just evaporated in the surface of the earth, just like my wife.
“I am trying my best. It is just all loose ends,” I sniffle.
We talk for a little while before they break the silence and part ways, promising to keep in touch in case something new comes up.
