***ZANE’S POV***
I zone out of the room, everything seems dark and void. The only sounds I hear are of men yelling and orders backing out orders.
I only think of one person, one pretty face. London. Blonde hair, bright green eyes, and a small button nose. How perfect could my wife be?
Now, she is not here. What fucking game is Michael Logan playing with me? He doesn’t even know the things I can do to him. No, the things I would do to the fucker.
He will wish he were dead because I sure will fuck him properly.
Is London alright? And my baby? I feel hot tears burn my eyes and a few rogue ones escape. I can’t help but worry about London’s safety.
“Zane? Come on man, open your eyes,” I hear someone call out.
“Grab me a good damn bottle of water, Alexander. Rio put the kids on one side, I will blow their heads off their necks if anything happened to my brother,” I hear a familiar voice say.
I am still not focused, it becomes very unclear and the next thing, cold water is being poured on my face.
I raise my hand to give a blind punch but someone grasps it.
Several slaps fall on my face.
“Open your eyes, now, Zane, that is an order,” the voice still says.
My hands are held right that I can’t remove it. Anger feels me as I finally jerk fully aware of my surroundings.
I look like a man possessed by a demon. Russell and Reaper are by my side and Rio is putting a gun at the kids.
Alex is staring at the whole encounter, an amused look is spread across his face.
“What happened?” I ask as Russell lets go.
I stand, brushing off the ground from my trousers.
“You had a fucking panic attack. You almost killed us,” he snorts angrily.
“Sorry,” I huff.
No one says anything again, and as I collect the bottle of water, I take a long gulp from it.
“What is the plan?” Rio asks.
“We are going to the Antonovs. I need answers,” I say.
As I start walking away, I hear Reaper call out.
“Boss, you need to see this,” he says banging the door fully open.
The door goes flying backward. I walk to it immediately.
“It’s the room Michael did the call in,” I say staring at the rest of my men.
They nod in accordance and I move to the desk, anger makes me push it with my leg breaking it.
Down at the end of the small wall, a pallet is there. A fucking pallet. Beside it, London’s shoe is there. Only one, and I know there was a fucking trouble here.
“Holy shit!” I cry out as I rush to it, picking up the dirty shoe.
From its color, it was supposed to be pink, but now, I can barely even tell with all that dust in it.
“I will kill that woman rapper myself,” I grit out pressing London’s shoe to my nose.
There is a very faint smell of her still there, I want to haul it over the wall, it is annoying and I walk out of the room.
As I take the road to the door, Rio asks a question.
“What about the kids?”
“Burn them inside the warehouse,” I ditch out.
A haul of pleas comes out of the kids, and I roll my eyes.
“Who knows where the Antonovs may be hiding?” I question heading towards the door.
“I know,” a little boy says his eyes wide with fear.
I stop, turn around, and stare at him, waiting for his response.
“The old castle by the woods. I heard Lord Enzo tell Master Riley to meet him after they had the parcel. I bet they will be they,” he says.
The young guy, the one with glasses punches him across the shoulder.
“You didn’t have to say,” he blurts out fiercely.
“And what? Due to my stupidity? No. Remember I didn’t want this lifestyle. I only want food and shelter, nothing more,” the little guy says.
A twinge of pity touches my heart, I know what it is to be a homeless boy. I might never have experienced a no-shelter place, but I do have people who come from the gutter.
A perk from having old money then.
I stare at one of the men who are on our sides and nod him to approach. He does it without a second thought.
This makes me look at the kids. Seven kids. The two who are injured seem to be losing a lot of blood.
“Listen well, kids. You have two options to make now. Stay in here and die by being burnt to ashes or come with me. I don’t promise you a life of roses but I promise you all food and shelter. With a good job to do legit works by me,” I say.
They look pleased and I understand how they feel.
“Yes, Sir, I accept it,” many of them choruses and a small smile creases at my lips.
“Harold, take these kids to the main quarters. They are under your care. A hair out of their heads is punching at mine. Those wounded kids should be looked after. I will come back to check on them before sleeping,” I say nodding my head at them, making sure they hear me as well.
“We are grateful, boss. Thank you very much,” they all say excitedly.
“Good. Gentlemen, we can leave,” I say, using my head to direct the door.
Outside, I wait for Russell, Rio, and Alex to come towards me.
“You think they knew we were coming?” Alex asks angrily.
“I bet they knew. The new location has been confirmed. But I want us to be discreet about it,” I let out watching at the time.
“Of course,” Rio mutters.
“We ride out to the beach house then. We look for the Antonovs and bring them for question. If they don’t comply, we kill them,” Russell says charging his gun.
I love it when I have the support of my brothers with me.
