Chapter 98

***LONDON’S POV***
“Come on, Sinner, you have to get well soon so that you can be present at your own welcome home party,” I tell him jokingly as I peer into his face.
He has a day stubble on his face and looks to be in pain. Although strong men like Sinner will never admit to being hurt, the pain flashes visibly across their faces and also their features.
“Thank you, London, I can’t be any more appreciative,” he says groaning.
A knock on the door makes my head snap there. Two men in suits stroll in, one having a baseball hat. They all look good.
“The boss asked us to take his wife home,” The one slightly tall says, looking at me.
“Isn’t it a bit early since Zane left? what? About fifteen minutes?” I ask, shock evident in my voice.
Reaper replies to me.
“They might have been around when the Boss called. I trust you both to take London home,” Reaper says his eyes on theirs as he tries to figure out something.
Downstairs, I slide into the car and Reaper stares at the men a while longer. I start feeling uncomfortable.
“What did you say your names were buddies?” he asks raising his brows.
“Miguel. And the baseball cap guy is Paolo. We are new recruits, maybe that is why we haven’t met,” he says closing the door.
Reaper nods his head and steps back as Miguel slips into the car in front, riding shotgun.
The men share a look and with a nod, they pull out of the parking lot. I feel tired, dragging Zane’s jacket closer to my body, grateful that he had been thoughtful enough to give it to me.
I snooze, but I don’t know for how long because the moment I open my eyes, a rough bumpy Road is where the car is driving through and I frown.
“Hey, this isn’t the road to the house,” I say looking at my surroundings.
How long had I been asleep? this road doesn’t look familiar and it looks like they had changed the course of the road and weren’t even in town.
“This is an order, guys, stop the car,” I yell as I start fighting them.
“Stay calm, we don’t want to hurt you,” Miguel says as Paolo’s eyes flash with amusement, before focusing on the rocky grounds where he drove.
“But, we don’t take orders from you, ma’am,” Miguel teases laughing darkly.
I pulled out the pen knife I had in my purse and slammed it against his neck. It isn’t much and barely scrapes his skin. But a good amount of blood pours out enough to make him shake with fear.
“You bitch. Arggh! the bitch bit me,” Miguel screams.
I send my legs backward and slam Paolo’s head and he slams it against the steering, disrupting his trail of movements.
“Stop this car, now, dickheads,” I scream anger searing through me.
Why did they want to kidnap me? And they were an easy target, they manipulated Reaper so easily that he didn’t see right through their lies.
Miguel opens the car door, anger searing through him as he jerks open the back seat and immediately, he fists my jacket, bringing me out of the car.
I slam my arm on the door on my way out and a howling cry tears the air.
“No! No! let me go,” I shout as I fight back, every bit of my energy put out to help me flee from these men.
“Stay calm, bitch,” Miguel says slapping e across the face, I fall over the hood of the car, feeling my entire face heat with the pressure of the slap.
Paolo was the one to press his weight on me as he flicked my gown upwards. The bulge on his trousers was pressing against me and as I wriggled, I fought harder to escape that prison between his thighs.
“Let me go!” I wail harder fighting these men.
Grabbing my hair, the next thing I felt was a blinding pain that shot through me. Blood gushed out of my nostrils as a dark haze clouded my eyes.
“Paolo! we are not supposed to damage the good. I am going to put the sedative in her,” he says pulling out a syringe.
“Don’t touch me with that, I swear, my husband is going to cut your heads and hang in on a spike. I swear, I am going to enjoy taking it as a present,” I tease them.
That was a bad idea that I shouldn’t have said those words and I regret having said it because the haze that blinded me caused me to pass out.
I tasted the rust in my mouth, the sounds were now distant, and I sobbed.
“Hold her down, Damn it, Paolo,” Miguel says, and a second later, a sharp pain explodes at the side of my neck and I close my eyes, the heaviness in them too much to even allow me to keep them open.
“Get her in the trunk and let’s go,” Miguel says as he sweeps me up.
I tried to stay awake, I tried to fight the dizziness but I couldn’t, it was just too much for me.
As the drunk widened, Paolo dumped me inside and I half blinked, thinking this was all a trance.
It wasn’t and the realization hit me that I was being kidnapped.
I haven’t even finished making peace with Zane, and yes, we might have had sex before we parted, but I am not ready to spend a day without him.
I’ve come to love him, to appreciate him, and even though I wouldn’t say it, I was thinking of forever together. With our baby.
As the tears trickle through my eyes, the trunk closes and the men get into the car. A moment later, the car pulls away, I feel nauseous, my head becoming a very dark place, one I can’t support as I close my eyes, letting darkness overcome me.
