Chapter 65

Book:Daddy Zane Published:2024-6-5

***ZANE’S POV***
When London fell asleep on the bridge where we were watching the sunset, I carried her into the house and set her on the bed. She stirs a few times but remains sleeping.
“Good night, little girl,” I murmur close to her ears.
She stirs, acts as if she is going to reply, but then, settles on sleeping again.

The next morning, I walk out early to cut more wood, also, I have to go with London to town, she needs a doctor.
A few hours after the doctor’s visit, everything was fine, and the doctor checked out her cast. The fracture in her hand had healed and he saw it needless to keep the cast on. Thus, the cast was removed.
With a massage and drugs, London was free to go home. The baby was fine on its part and was growing well in London’s womb. After making a round at the grocery store, London convinced me that she needed some girlie things.
Arghh! It’s so frustrating living with a woman, but if she is the love of your life, I bet all this shit doesn’t matter much, or that it?
We are at the restaurant and London is having a mood.
“Hey, baby! Want to eat?” I ask, using my fork to point at her barely touched-plate.
“No! I thought I wanted the Salmon, but no! I don’t want it anymore. I want pork ribs,” she muster.
Without any hint, she burst out into tears, crying at the diner.
Shit!
I didn’t care if the place was filled with people or not, London and I were having the last booth at the rear of the restaurant room.
“No! You don’t want that, London. You’ve ordered caviar before this fish and that fucking took me over one thousand dollars, and you didn’t even put a tablespoon of it in your mouth. Now, London, you have Salmon, it sucks,” she says.
She had just taken three tiny bites of her food and now, she was acting like I had taken her cat away from her.
“You don’t want to feed me, that is fine, I will just drink water and go to bed,” she mouthed crossing her hands across her chest.
Her pouty lips made me hide a grin, she was now acting bratty, and we were in a public place.
“Do you mind holding your sass until we reach the house, young woman? I don’t want to punish you in a public place,” I tell her.
I had a plate of chicken in front of me, and the cheese on top was good.
“You don’t get me pregnant if you can’t feed me,” London screams at me and I feel the heat creeping through my neck.
“Stop yelling,” I grit out, trying hard but failing to control my fury.
London smirks, letting me know that she has this all figured out.
A few heads snaps to our side and I ignore them. London is my problem, and I am going to deal with it.
These are times I am just aware of how young London is, and if we weren’t already married, I would let her go.
Bullshit! London is mine, and I will never let her go. That at least, is final.
“Zane! I want to go home,” she says shifting in the chair.
The doctor had said London’s dizziness was because she was low on vitamins, after he had given her some drugs, which I had taken because London isn’t to be trusted, I bought some fruits to make it up on the meal side.
“No, you wouldn’t go home, not when I haven’t yet finished with you, honey,” I tell her nodding towards her food.
‘I said I didn’t want this,” she shouts as she clears the table with her good hand, pushing everything to the floor.
London’s eyes were heated as she stared at me, challenging me to the fullest. It makes me want to go mad. This time, when the heads snapped at us, they saw how mad I was and they looked away, focusing on their meals.
“You, young lady, you are in trouble, a whole lot that you can imagine,” I tell her softly.
Removing my wallet, I pay the bill and leave a generous tip for the waiter who will clean this place up, and also pay for the damaged plates.
Standing, I help London to her feet, walking with her to the outside.
I wouldn’t want to leave her now, she might run, and by the time I am finished with her today, any bouts of anger she thinks she has is going to stop for once and for all.
“Come on now,” I mutter out.
London walks behind me, I lift her and put her in the car, buckling her seat belt, I look at her, thinking of all the ways I could discipline her.
When I don’t find any handy, I huff, rolling my eyes as I close her door.
I know why London is acting this way because she wouldn’t have her way with me. Well, she needs to know where the fucking authority lies.
It lies with me being the head of this family, and as the ducking dominant, she needs to know all the power lies with me.
It sucks to sulk.
Behind the wheel, I hear London speak.
“I don’t know why you are fretting out, Zane, you better focus or you will get us both in an accident,” she hisses.
This was the first time I was hearing her do that, and if I say I didn’t want her over my lap at this very moment, then, I fucking was lying to myself.
“You will stay calm and reflect on your actions at the restaurant, you and Daddy are having a big talk when we reach the house,” I tell her, my eyes not leaving the road for a second.
From the corner of my eyes, I watch London roll her hands together, fidgeting, it makes me worry if something was the problem and she didn’t want to tell me.
Maybe we should talk it out first.
Pulling up at the house, London doesn’t wait for me to help her out, she just goes for the door and walks inside the house.
I take my time taking out the groceries. Inside the house, I don’t see London anywhere around, thus, I assume she was in the room.
I spend time working on washing the fruits and putting them in the fridge. As I go for the last one, I return, repeating the process of washing and storing them away.
I don’t know what makes me go inside, looking for London, but when I open the door to the room, I find the bed empty and her nowhere to be found. That made me frown.
The spare bedroom was empty as hell, indicating that she wasn’t there.
From the corner of my eye, I see the open window, half closed. It was London’s tell. She might have either left it like that to help her sneak in when she returned.
I bet she would need that when she is over my shoulder and walking through the main door.
Closing and locking the door, I move to the door and walk outside.
The mountain is home to many creatures and right now, if I don’t find her before a bear does, she will be food for the beast. I make sure my hunting gun is with me, and the bullets are fully charged.
I don’t want to kill any wild animal, but if they dare go neat my pregnant wife, then, I am sorry but, she will have to pay for it.
