DAMON
I stood under the unshaded sun and tapped my leg impratiently on the floor. I will wait for two more minutes, if she is not here then, I’d punish Olivia for keeping me waiting.
I walked around the suburbia of the tower, admiring the beauty of the aesthetics. People think of me as a cold and heartless Alpha and I couldn’t agree less.
Everyone lives with their own pain and what happened three years ago turned me into a cold and unfeeling Alpha.
For the first time in three years, Olivia is the first female I have proposed to be my mistress. It has been a long time, now is the time to get over my past although it won’t change me back to the way I used to be.
I feel like someone who was thrown into shackles and manacles for a long time. I am surrounded by nightmares that appear in broad daylight.
Keeping people away has been the only way I have survived over the years but the sight of Olivia and the way she scents made me think otherwise.
Olivia has the same scent as her, perceiving that scent after a long time made me attracted to Olivia, the scent that has lingered on my mind and taken over me. That scent I can never forget even if I want to.
I don’t know how the moon goddess did it that two different people have the same scent but I take it as a consolation prize for my years of struggles after her death.
Within that period, I realized that people changing due to circumstances doesn’t only apply to humans, it can happen to any creature, including wolves.
I sighted Olivia from a distance, she was already changed into the dress I had given her earlier. It fitted perfectly on her body as if it belonged to her.
“One of the rules you must keep in mind as long as you are here is not being late, do not keep me waiting for you like this again” I warned as she came closer to me.
“I am sorry” she replied immediately. I took a look at her and shook my head. I could tell why she was being treated like trash in her uncle’s house.
When you are not confident in yourself, you take everything people do to you as fate and stoop so low to tolerate some kind of behavior, you are bound to be walked all over by other people.
That’s the case of Olivia, I can tell she’s someone that can be easily trampled on. She’s soft, always scared, and not bold enough to express her opinions.
“If you want to stay as my mistress, you must learn how to carry yourself with dignity. And stop fidgeting with your fingers, it’s getting on my nerves” I pointed out and walked away, expecting her to follow me.
She unclasped her hands, running to keep the pace with me. After a little walk, we entered my hideout in the tower. No one has the knowledge of this place’s existence except for Nina, and now, Olivia.
“Where is this place?” Olivia stamper. “My haven” I retorted. It’s a small garden hidden at the back of the tower where I come to stay when I have a lot on my mind.
It’s peaceful, has a nice view plus a serene environment. “It’s beautiful” she admired. I sat down on the long bench and gestured to her to sit beside me. I know it’s beautiful, it’s part of the reason I like it here.
“As long as you are here, I will take care of you and treat you well. There are some things I wouldn’t want you to employ yourself in so listen carefully to me” I spoke.
“Like I said earlier, don’t ever keep me waiting. I disdain it” “Always dress beautifully no matter the occasion”
“You must ask for my consent before doing anything. Whenever I call for you, do not hesitate before coming to me, and never violate my proficiencies” My eyes met with hers and she looked down.
“Simple right? If there is any negligence towards that, I wouldn’t mind the fact that you are still young. I will penalize you in my way” I added. That was enough to slide dread into her.
“Do you understand?” I polled. “Yes”
We sat there for a while without saying anything to each other. The only thing I was hearing was her persistent sighs.
“Why? Is there a problem?” I asked, focusing my attention on her. It was blatant she looked nervous. “No” she affirmed.
“Can I go for a run in my wolf form?” she clamored, relatively too fast. I could barely get a word from what she said. I had to encode the message for a while before understanding what she meant.
“You want to shift into your wolf form just to run?” I asked, staring at her with an incredible expression while she nodded her head.
“I won’t go far, I promise” Olivia asserted with a desperate look on her face. “Why?” I threw an inquiry at her.
I watched as she looked down on her thighs in an anxious manner. “I… have never done that before” she conceded.
“What? When did you start being able to shift?” I asked. “13, when I was 13” she answered. So why did she not change form or run ever since? Did they forbid her from doing so too?
“Let’s go on a run together, we will come back here and change” Olivia’s eyes shifted to mine after I said that.
She stared at me in disbelief as if she was trying to wake up from an unrealistic dream. Do I look so hard that she doesn’t think I would grant her a request?
Or is it because I said we should go together? “Do you not want me to go with you?” I propped.
“No, it’s nothing like that” she defended. “Then let’s go, I am familiar with the woods, which means that I will be your tour guide. And I will also be able to protect you”
