MALIA’S POV
As if on cue, as Scott began to lead me toward what was supposed to be the garden, a bunch of men just waltzed into the palace ground toward the main entrance. I recognized them immediately, and even more so, I recognized a particular person among them.
“Ronan!” I yelled because I couldn’t stop myself as the excitement of seeing him bubbled. I raised my hand up for his attention to zero on me as I saw him looking around vigorously to identify his caller.
“Alright, the garden should be put behind us I guess” Scott who I had forgotten I was with spoke, shrugging and turning to face the men too.
“I am deeply sorry Scott I will come up to you some other day so you can show me around. I frankly want to visit the garden” I said giddily like a school girl, eager to just leave the space and go straight to where Ronan was.
He too, seemed to have the same thought as before I even realized he was moving toward me, he was right in front of me and surging me up into the air, spinning around like I weighed nothing.
“Put me down, Ronan. Set me down right this instance or I harm you!” I tried to sound serious but the lightness and playfulness in my tone betrayed that emotion.
He didn’t even care to listen to my words, either because he knew I wouldn’t do that or he would be able to protect himself if I attempted. Either way, he kept me spinning around in front of everyone present which I could say was a huge number.
When he had had enough, he finally put me down, holding onto my shoulders like he was trying to keep me in place.
“Unhand me right this instance! Get your hands off me I said” I tried to sway his hands away but he just kept gazing at me.
“Are you sure about that? I mean do you want me to let go of you?” He asked with an amused gaze.
“What do you even mean by that” I glared at him in disbelief. We were in front of all these people and he was asking me if to unhand me first. “Of course, you let go of me. You have embarrassed me more than enough in front of everyone. Why do you want to add to that?”
“I desire not to embarrass you, your wish is my command” Barely after he closed his mouth, he let go of me and before I could give a sense of what was happening, I was moving fast forward to the ground with no alternative.
No wonder he held me, he knew the spin would get my legs.
“Do you still want me to let go of you?” He arched his brows as he held onto my shoulders again.
“No, hold me” I stated with a little smile.
“Gladly” He replied and swiped me under my foot, walking into the palace with me in his hands. Did I tell you that he effortlessly does that like I weigh not more than a feather whereas, in reality, I knew I weighed a tone?
Instead of taking me toward my room as I thought, he deviated at a point and moved toward his wing. I didn’t complain though, I just lay quietly on his chest, hearing as it beat calmly while he moved.
I have no idea how we got to this point in our relationship but we are now surely very comfortable with each other that doing this doesn’t look or feel awkward.
He didn’t drop me anywhere until he was in his living room which I tell you was as far as walking out of the palace to the market square. But he carried me all the way there without even batting a lash.
“How are you even able to pull that off smoothly, your breath is even and it doesn’t even look like you did any work” I had to ask because I was surprised.
“I have carried far heavier things and covered a much farther place than this, not once, so” He shrugged and chuckled deeply. It isn’t that much of a task I guess.
I rolled my eyes at him playfully. “Bragging much”
“It’s not that” He laughed wholeheartedly. “You asked and so I thought you were interested in knowing” He tried to defend himself.
“Of course I am but there isn’t a need for you to go into that much detail” I insisted.
“Well, I will keep that in mind for when next you will ask me the question” He responded and got up. “I want to make a meal, you want to come and keep me company?” He inquired.
“Sure, I could use some company too” I pulled myself up from the couch and followed after him into his enormous marbled decorated kitchen.
“Alright fine, let me get started on breakfast”
“Make it for one person, I have eaten in the morning already” I stated, getting on the stool and lining the island as he got started with setting out the utensils.
Ronan is the only royal person I know who loves to cook his own meals. He had his kitchen in his wing and would always get his meal cooked from scratch by himself without getting help from any maid despite having them to his display. He tidied his own space and we hardly see maids roaming around his wings.
We chatted lightly while he cooked and when he was done, he sat at the table and began eating while I say beside him sipping on a glass of wine.
Just when I thought my my day had finally gotten steady and I could continue on a stress-free day, the door was pushed open and I needed no one to tell me who was it. From the steps, I just knew who it was.
“Seriously, why does she keep following me everywhere I go?”
