Savannah’s POV
Hardwick threw his head back, laughed and I rolled my eyes.
“Do you think I am joking here?”
“Definitely not,” he grinned.
“What I said is true. If there’s a day like that then you would see that side of mine” I huffed.
“Though I am curious to see that fierce look of yours but no I don’t think I can”
“What?”
He smiled “that kind of thing won’t be happening so I won’t be getting the chance to see that?”
I smiled at him “who knows your handsome face always attracts women”
He smirked, “So you mean I am handsome?”
“You still want to hear it from my mouth?”
He chuckled “I like being praised you know”
“Yeah, I can see that” I rolled my eyes “so your dad didn’t say anything to your mom?”
“What would he say? Dad already knows what would happen if that woman meets mom. He even warned her not to go anywhere but that woman went to find her own doom” he shrugged.
“Hm… It’s good. How did they have feelings for eachother?”
“They stayed together for a year like strangers. Though dad looked ruthless from outside, he loved mom because she was his mate. And he wanted to make her his but because of mom’s negligence he couldn’t move forward. He wanted her to give herself willingly to him. So one day the pack was under attack by some rogues. It was an unexpected sneak attack. Dad was not prepared at all. Because of this the whole pack was busy fighting. The rogues were cunning and they prepared a second plan to defeat the whole pack. Dad was fighting and didn’t see his enemy were about to stand him from behind. But before the knife could stab dad it was blocked. Dad was surprised when he saw it but what surprised him more was the person who blocked it”
“It was your mom, wasn’t it?” I smiled thinking about the scene.
“Yeah. She blocked the knife and helped dad to win. Dad was already so into her and now that she saved his life it made him more amazed and he wanted to make her his in that moment. Later dad asked her why she saved him when she hated him to death. Mom said that even if she hated him she couldn’t see him die. Afterall he is her fated mate”
“Their love story is really strange. From enemies to lovers. I think that’s the day your mom started to have feelings for you dad?”
“Hm…. I guess so. After that even if they still love like strangers they behaved normally” he nodded.
“And then?” I moved my body a little so that I could see his face. We were sitting on the couch while he was sitting behind me. I was almost lying on him while he held me tightly.
“Dad tried to put all his efforts in winning her heart. Starting from giving her flowers everyday to taking her on dates”
“It’s so sweet,” I smiled. He looked down at me smiling.
“You look like you’re getting more and more interested in their story?”
“I am. I mean I don’t have the chance to meet them but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t have any chance to know them” it said that Hardwick’s parents died and unfortunately he had to take over the Alpha title before coming to his average age.
“So you have to tell me about them” I poked his cheek.
He grabbed my finger and put it on his lips before kissing it “I will tell you everything I know. They had a long story and Sometimes when I was young dad used to tell me some incidents”
“Your dad used to tell you about his love life?” My eyes widened.
He nodded chuckling “weird right but dad was my best buddy before Ryan. He used to share everything starting from ruling techniques to his some personal affairs”
“You both were so close huh”
“We were,” he agreed, nodding. “Though the timespan was not long enough with them but whatever we had was enough to give me life long lessons” there was sadness in his tone.
My heart ached as I looked at him. Hardwick looks cold and strict from outside but he has his pain too. Losing his parents and taking over such a huge responsibility it’s not easy to deal with everything. I don’t even want to imagine what kind of hardships he went through all these years.
I grabbed his hand “I am with you now. I won’t leave you no matter what”
He held my hand tightly “I know. You are here, that’s why I am at peace. It has been so many years but I couldn’t find my mate and I was depressed. I almost thought I was not fated to have a mate, until that night when you fell into my arms is like a dream come true. I knew that you were mine right then. And I wanted to take you back to my pack but I knew I could not”
“Hardwick-” I don’t know what to say to him. His face suddenly became so emotional.
“Don’t say anything” he chuckled. “When I knew I had a mate I was so happy that I couldn’t wait to bring you back in my pack and shout to the world that I have a mate. Finally I am blessed with my mate. After my parents left I was alone. Ryan helped me to manage everything but when I walked into my room and found it cold and empty I felt lonely. It’s hard that I couldn’t show it to anyone but I had to make it hard for myself to deal with it. But not anymore. You are here with me and I want to cage you here in my arms forever. There’s no way I will let you go nor I will let anyone snatch you away from me” his face turned serious and there was a kind of determination flashing in his captivating brown orbs. I couldn’t help but feel my heart jump suddenly.
“I will never leave you, don’t worry,” I smiled. “So at the end your mom accepted your dad finally?”
“She had to because dad will never stop until she gives in. Nor would he let her go anyhow. She was already fated to him”
I chuckled “if I could I really wanted to see them fighting then their love converting into an endless romance”
“You really don’t want them to see darling. Did you forget our story started like that too” Hardwick chuckled. My face flushed as I thought about what happened to us when we first met.
Neel kidnapped Idris and Hardwick kidnapped me. Like his parents we also had fights at first. I never wanted to accept this second chance but I also didn’t have a choice either. Whether I want it or not but I was tied to him the moment I rejected my first mate.
I sighed “at that time I was heart broken. Whatever happened in my ex pack I really could not move on and let myself free from those past torture. At first I wanted to reject this second bond but somehow in my heart never let me do it. Then you showed me what love is. Those care, tenseness and sweet talks and your endearments….” I chuckled “I couldn’t help but fall for you at the end”
“Good that’s my motto too. I would never let you leave in this life”
“So this house is the memory of your parents?” I looked around. The whole living room was filled with photos.
“Dad built it for mom. He said he wanted to create a memory that will never fade even if they were not here in the future”
I nodded “your dad really loved you mom. I can see it in his actions” It’s so sweet that he made a house filled with the photos as a memory.
“Oh” He clicked his tongue “so you mean you can’t see my love through my actions?”
I laughed “are you jealous mister?”
He brought me here and told me about his parents. How can I ever doubt him and his love for me.
“I have better ways to show you. Do you wanna see?” He smirked.
I frowned “stop it. Is this the right place to do that? Respect your parents” I glared at him.
He laughed “then let’s go back. I want to show you how much I love you”
Before I could ask he pulled me up with him. Just as I stood up my head spinned suddenly and my vision got blurred. I couldn’t see anything. It’s all like spinning. Dizziness filled my body and I leaned on his chest holding my head.
“What happened? Are you okay?” I heard his concerned voice.
“I…..” I couldn’t finish as my mind drifted to darkness. But before I could lose my mind completely I heard Hardwick roar.
