Savannah’s POV
I looked at the mirror and traced the bite mark on my neck. It was longer and bruiser than hickies. It was Red and the wound is quite deeper than normal. Though I knew he would do it one day, what was most unexpected was that he did it so soon before I could prepare myself. I shook my head at the thought. I have heard about marking from Tanea and she also said after the marking mates can hear our thoughts and can understand us more better. I sighed looking at the bruise mark on my neck. I don’t know if this will fade with time but the bruise he made is quite deep and it still pains sometimes.
“What are you doing?” I jumped in shock when the voice fell in my ear. I turned around and glared at the person standing in front of me.
“Why do you always do that?” I hissed angrily.
“What did I do?” He asked, looking like an innocent child.
“You don’t know” I rolled my eyes and turned around to look in the mirror again.
He hugged me from behind and looked at me through the mirror. “What happened? you look so angry?”
“Should I not?” I said through gritted teeth. How dare he ask me like nothing happened? Yesterday he tortured me and now the next morning he is playing innocent games with me?
“You are moody today” Hardwick ignored my glare and looked at my neck where he left his masterpiece. Suddenly his eyes flashed and a grin appeared on his face.
“This looks good”
My temper flared immediately. I struggled free from his hold and turned around pushing him away from me “what do you mean it looks good? You bit me so hard now tell me what should I do with this mark?”
“What are you thinking of doing?” He frowned. “And I didn’t bit you instead I marked you which should have been done long ago”
“You were aggressive,” I told him calmly. Flooding my arms around my chest I looked into his eyes “you marked me because you wanted to avoid my questions”
He walked towards the bed and sit down before looking at me “it has nothing to do with your questions”
I raised my eyebrows “oh, since that’s the case then why don’t you enlighten me the answers”
“You want answers?” He raised his hand and gestured me “come here”
I looked at him and threw a glare before slowly striding towards him. Once I was near him, he suddenly pulled me to him and made me sit on his lap.
“What are you doing?” I yelled.
“Shh….” He stopped me, placing his index finger on my lips. “you talk too much. Aren’t you afraid that your jaw will hurt?”
I rolled my eyes but circled my arms around his neck for support “who are you kidding? You still haven’t answered my question”
“Which question?” He pretended. But I know he is deliberately trying to avoid it again.
“If you are so reluctant then just tell me. You don’t have to pretend like this” I hissed angrily and tried to get up from his lap “talking to you is nothing but a waste of time. I would better read some books”
“Where do you think you are going?” He tightened his hold, refusing to let me go.
“Let me go” I told him angrily.
He smirked “never, once you are chosen there’s no point of arguing anymore. You have to live with me till death apart us”
“And also that…” He traced the line longer than needed “whether you want it or not, it depends on you. But you are mine and this is the universal truth”
My jaw almost dropped hearing him. Is he threatening me? How dare he?
“Are you threatening me?” I asked through gritted teeth.
“It also depends on you darling, if you take it in that then it is” he shrugged.
His reply made me so angry that I felt like beating him so hard until he beg for mercy. I can imagine the scene in my mind. I bit my inner cheeks trying not to smile at the thought. The scene itself was quite funny, him falling on his knees and begging for mercy and me glaring him with arrogance.
“What are you laughing at?” Hardwick’s voice rang in my ear. I was so engrossed in my own thoughts that I didn’t realize he was looking at me deeply.
“Nothing” I pursed my lips “my questions are still left unanswered”
“What questions?”
I sighed “Hardwick I know you are doing it deliberately. But how long did you plan to keep the truth from me? If not today then maybe tomorrow but there will always be a day when you have to tell me the truth. So why not today?” I tried to persuade him.
Hardwick looked at me then said “there’s nothing. You are thinking too much”
I sighed again “fine, since you are trying to cover it then I won’t force you. Tell me when you are ready but I must tell you something, tell me the truth before others do ”
Looking at his still emotionless face I decided to give it up. I won’t force him to tell me and give him time to rethink his decision. But I really want him to tell me the truth. I got up from his lap and walked towards the door. I glanced at him once more before walking out of the room and closing the door behind me.
