Savannah’s POV
I groaned as I tried to move my body. My body was in pain and there was a burning sensation in my neck. Slowly opening my eyes I looked around. The familiar decoration blurred my eyes for a moment. I am in my room. I looked around and found no one. Shaking my head I pushed myself up in a sitting position. I touched my neck and felt like there’s something like a bruise.
What was that? I frowned, questioning myself.
“You are up Mistress” Luina’s warm voice reached my ear. The door opened and Luina walked in holding a glass. There was a yellow liquid in it.
“I am glad you are awake. I was little worried when you are sleeping for such a long time”
Long time? What is she talking about now?
“What are you saying? How long have I slept?” I rubbed a certain area of my neck.
“You have been sleeping for 1 day, Mistress,” Luina answered.
My eyes almost popped out of the socket. What? One day? Then suddenly a scene flashed in my mind. Earlier I was arguing with Hardwick and our argument got heated before I tried to leave the room. But unfortunately he didn’t let me. Even he threw me on the bed and bit me so hard that I felt unconscious and I didn’t remember anything. That man. How could he bite till I am almost dead? I wanted to curse him so badly now.
I held back my series of curses that were about to spill out of my mouth. Even if I am so angry right now, I can’t disrespect him in front of Luina. Afterall he is the Alpha and has much respect in the pack.
So I forced out a tight smile “where is the Alpha?” Although I tried hard to sound warm, the coldness couldn’t be hidden inside the tone.
“Master said he will return soon. There was someone who came from far to meet him so he went out for the meeting” Luina replied.
Someone who came from far? I frowned at the thought. Who could it be? Even though I am living in the Dark Forest, I am still not aware of many things. Like Delaney, Daisy and the connection between them. I want to know about it. I want to know why Daisy was so hostile towards me when it was the first time we encountered each other. Why she accused me of middling between Delaney and Hardwick? And why Hardwick refuses to talk about it? What made him so angry last time that led our simple talking to such a heated argument?
“Mistress please drink this” Luina’s forwarded the yellow liquid glass towards me.
I looked at the glass then looked at her “what’s this?”
“This is Medicinal juice. Master left strict order to give you this once you are awake”
“Why is that? I don’t remember I am sick or something?” I frowned.
“That I don’t know. I only know that I need to give you this as per order” Luina looked troubled.
“Did he say anything else about this?” I pointed towards the glass.
“Master said it will help you rest well and relieve your pain”
I looked at the glass for a few minutes. Did he need this because of the pain he left on me? He was so angry last time. But now after waking up he ordered her to give me this medicinal juice to help me relax my body? I wanted to focus my point on the anger part but looking at the glass I could not help but feel flattered already. What’s happening? I can’t even stay angry at him?
“Mistress, please drink this. If Master finds you didn’t then he will scold me” Luina almost pleaded.
I sighed. Even though I can throw my tantrums but He will never leave Luina if she can’t fulfill his orders. Feeling helpless I grabbed the glass and drank down the liquid without stopping at all. Once the glass was empty I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. The sweet-sour test melted in my tongue giving a weird taste. But to my surprise, after drinking I felt refreshed and lively. Looks like the drink actually works.
“Would you like to take a bath?”
I nodded “yes please, it would be good”
“I will make the water ready” then she walked inside the bathroom.
Why did Hardwick suddenly get so aggressive and bite me so hard? I don’t know what happened after that. It was quite painful and my body felt numb at that time. I couldn’t understand the point. Just then Luina’s voice ran from the bathroom. I sighed and got up from bed before walking towards the bathroom. Right, it would be better to relax my tense body instead of thinking about so many things together.
=======
“Hi mom” I smiled as I picked up the phone.
“How are you doing darling?”
“I am good. What about you and dad?”
“We are fine except for Dev causing trouble” mom laughed.
“Oh, what did he do now?” I asked as I walked towards the balcony.
“Don’t ask me. You better call him and ask personally. Your dad punished him with loaded work”
“He is …” I shook my head. I miss him now.
“What happened sweetheart?” Mom asked from the other line.
“I miss him mom, you, dad, Tanea and all the memories I shared in the pack” I replied.
“Don’t be sad darling. When one memory lingers in our mind, we create another one in the current situation. All you have to do is relax yourself and calm your mind. You can’t think properly if you have disturbed mind”
“Thanks mom, I really needed your advice”
“Anything wrong sweetheart?”
I sighed “there’s something I wanted to know but the current situation is not right”
“Then give it time” mom replied.
“Mom, I am too curious. And everytime it involves me”
“Then you need to trust yourself” mom said “if things are not going by your choice then try giving it some time. Maybe what you wanted to know is more serious than you can imagine. Don’t only think from your point only, when you are paired you need to think with two minds and emotions. Trust is what you need. Time will give you the answers you want”
I sighed again. What mom said was true. I really can’t force Hardwick to tell me the truth about Delaney if he is not ready to talk. He is my mate and we all have our own past. I really can’t judge me through his past. Since he is reluctant to tell me, all I could do is wait. Wait till the right time, wait till he decides to reveal the truth himself without me forcing. Trust is a key to a relationship and I have to keep it between me and my mate.
“Thanks mom, I was too curious to think rationally”
Mom chuckled “it happens darling. But I hope you now understood what you need to do”
Hearing her a smile appeared on my lips. Mom knows me so well. If it was not for her, I would have done something that made me regret later. I shook my head at the thought.
“Savannah?” Mom’s voice reached my ear.
“Yes, mom. I know what I should do”
