He gazed at me “why not? You are mine and it’s my responsibility to make you happy. Though our interactions are just for a short period of time but I will do everything that makes you smile”
A strange feeling started crawling inside my heart “you just did it to make me smile?”
“Your happiness matters to me. No matter how hard or efforts it takes, I will do it in a heartbeat”

I shook her away not wanting to cause any disturbance. Then a smile suddenly formed on my lips “thank you. It’s beautiful but I never expected it” I felt blush hitting my face.
He smirked “should we order?”
I nodded. Just then a man who looked young wearing a waiter’s uniform walked inside. I was surprised. I haven’t seen anyone before we entered the tent but now where did he come from out of nowhere?
“Should we serve master?” He asked, lowering his head.
Hardwick nodded “get it done”
The waiters nodded then gestured his hand and a few more waiters followed in holding trays. I watched as they started serving the food before leaving the tent. Once they disappeared from the view I heard Hardwick’s voice again.
“Should we start?”
“Huh?” I turned my head to look at him.
“Foods will get cold if you just stare at me like that?” He smirked. I lowered my head and looked at the food.
“This….”
“All your favourite” he replied even before I could ask.
“How do you know all this?” I asked with surprise. This man never failed to amaze me. I glanced at the food again. These are all I love the most. Especially that prawn one.
“Luna told me,” he shrugged.
“Mom? ” I frowned “she didn’t said anything about it”
“I asked her”
“You asked her?”
He nodded “I wanted to know what you like to eat and she is the only one who can help me”
I hated it. I hated to admit that I am truly moved. He not only planned this beautiful decoration starting with the selection of place yet he went forward to know about my likings too? Which girl will stay still if she witnesses such a thing? Such a romantic gesture that could flatter anyone without trying hard.
“You didn’t need to work that hard for me,” I said slowly.
“You are my mate, and this is nothing. The only thing that matters to me is YOU. And about these efforts it’s worth everytime you smile looking at it”
Please don’t. Don’t do such a thing. Because I couldn’t handle it and at the end will end up falling for him. My heart has never moved like this. This is what feels like having a mate right? Being loved and cared for and most importantly being treated to this extent. We didn’t talk much after that but started to enjoy the food. I must say, those dishes are so delicious that I could not help myself but eat till I am satisfied. He was so gentle that he even peeled the prawns for me. Can this night be more enjoyable than this?
After the meal we sat on the sand enjoying the view of the waves that were splashing around. This peaceful environment is something that calmed both heart and mind.
“Thank you for this night” I whispered but I know he can hear me. My heart jumped when he pulled me closer.
“If you want to thank me then why don’t you thank me properly. This verbal thanking is not acceptable” he said huskily. We are so close that I can feel his breath fanning my cheeks.
