Chapter 656 Request

She opened her office door, “Come in and talk.”
Sloane immediately helped Mrs. Alston, and the two walked in together.
Adriana closed the door, placed her hands in the pockets of her high-waisted, wide-legged pants, and looked down in deep thought, “It was you who begged me to let Peter go, and now it’s you who are begging me to give up the baby. Don’t you think you’re going too far? Why should you take all the advantages?”
Her thick, long, curly eyelashes blinked, and after glancing back at the two men, she walked to stand in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, “I made it very clear when I went to see Peter that I would not pursue the matter as long as I was given custody of the two children. He readily agreed.”
I was happy to say yes, without thinking about it.
That kind of bravado made Adriana doubt herself a little, wondering if Peter really had a father’s love for her two children.
“Adriana, what do you mean we took all the benefits? The one who took advantage of it is obviously you.”
Sloane was furious, “My mother worked hard to bring up the two children, you said take away, do you know that my mother is in tears these days?”
Despite her playful nature, Sloane was very kind to Mrs. Alston and extremely caring to her mother.
Mrs. Alston dropped her former noble image and removed the sunglasses she was wearing, revealing a pair of red and swollen eyes, “Adriana, I know it was our fault in the past. But can you give Luis back to us? Even if it’s just a formality. I promise you, as long as you give us custody of the child, we only need the child to stay in our home one day a week, OK?”
Seemingly desperate, this was her only request, and it seemed so humble.
Return the children to The Alston family for just one day a week.
Even if Adriana’s heart is as hard as stone, she had to be moved.
Peter is an adult, capable of handling things, and should have known this would happen when he made his choice. You, for one, should not be left to fend for him.”
“Adriana, I …”
Mrs. Alston looked sad, forlorn and resigned, and opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Sloane.
Sloane rushed to Adriana’s face, pointing at her face and shouting, “Adriana, do you have no conscience? What did my brother do to you, why are you doing this? You keep saying that you love the child. Do you know what will happen to our family once my brother is kicked out of the Alston Group? Are you really not worried that Luis and Helen will grow up to hate you?”
Adriana, can I ask you? I know that I have wronged you, if you have hate in your heart, hate me alone, okay?”
Perhaps Sloane was not aware of the current situation of The Alston family before.
But just the change of Peter alone, a short time for her to find a lot of differences, and naturally a few more sense of crisis.
“My brother now buys drunk all day long, even when grandpa threatens him for the baby, he is indifferent. Do you really think he doesn’t love the baby? No, my brother wouldn’t be that kind of person.”
Sloane shook his head.
Knock Knock-
At that moment, there was a knock on the office door.
Without waiting for Adriana to reply, the office door opened and the person from outside walked in.
It’s … Harlee.
Adriana turned back and looked at him, her face not much up and down, “How did you … get here?”
For Harlee’s appearance, Adriana did not like, and even resisted a little.
Harlee holds her milk tea in one hand and her dessert in the other, placing them on Adriana’s desk as her eyes survey Sloane and Mrs. Alston.
Mrs. Alston immediately put on her sunglasses to cover up the wretched scene, fearing that Harlee would see and taunt her.
“What brings you here?”
Harlee ignored Adriana’s questions.
“I … we came over to see Adriana, what has it to do with you.” Sloane bristled and raised her forehead slightly, not wanting to be noticed for the humble look she had just given.
“Are you okay?”
Adriana walked over and with one look at Harlee, she went around to her desk and sat down, “Hurry up if you need to talk, I have other things to do.”
“Me? There’s no rush, there’s no rush, it’s not an outsider.”
Harlee waved her hand, as if she had made herself one of her own.
Adriana swept a glance at Mrs. Alston and Sloane and sighed, “You guys go back first and let Peter come to me himself if something comes up.”
She didn’t want to talk to Mrs. Alston about it in the office, and since Peter wasn’t there, it was useless to talk to Mrs. Alston.
“This … this …”
Mrs. Alston looked at Sloane, who was also out of ideas.
The two men had to nod and leave.
After the office door was closed and the office was quiet again, Harlee walked over to Adriana, sat sideways on her desk, carried the milk tea and placed it in front of her, and doted on the milk tea straw.
Asked, “Are they here about Peter? I heard that Peter was kicked out of Old Mr. Alston, which is pretty good news.”
Adriana looked at a document in front of her, glanced at the cup of red bean milk tea, and frowned slightly, “But this morning your partner Brenden came to my house with someone to take Luis.”
The words were cold, the eyes sharper, invariably questioning Harlee, hoping he would give an explanation.
“Oh, this thing Brenden gave me a call. He said it was Peter’s idea, so he was just taking people over there to go through the motions, and didn’t Giovanny end up giving those bodyguards a beating.”
He laughed it off, as if he didn’t take those things seriously.
“Heh, Brenden has a knack for getting things done left and right.”
Adriana snickered, “Go ahead, what’s the matter with coming over here?”
She didn’t want to talk to Harlee about anything else, she didn’t feel like she was on the same page with him.
“I came over just … to ask you to take Luis and Helen home. Grandpa says he misses the two kids.”
Harlee thought about it for a moment, but finally said it.
Adriana’s eyes suddenly turned stern as she looked at the paper, her eyes narrowed slightly and she raised her eyes to Harlee, “Missed? Really, how come I don’t know when grandpa got so close to the two kids.”
She snapped the paper closed and left it smoothly on a side table, “Harlee, I say again, stop fighting the idea of two children. There’s no way I’m letting you take Luis and Helen back to the Soto family …”
After saying that, not forgetting to add, “I don’t care what purpose you have.”
This is a clear statement that the Soto family has some conspiratorial purpose and is playing as intended.
Harlee’s face froze and the smile on her lips instantly disappeared.
