Chapter 31 Reconciliation

“Honestly Hayden, you don’t deserve my forgiveness after everything you did to me. What you deserve is to be kneed in the balls.” Silver replied to him.
“It’s okay, I understand. I wouldn’t forgive me too if I were you.” He said with a crestfallen expression.
“I’ll take my leave so you can enjoy the rest of your evening without me getting in the way.”
“Sit down and let me finish.” she said to him when he tried to stand up.
He didn’t want to listen to her berate him and tell him of all the ways he had messed up, but he stayed anyway. He knew that the civility and calmness with which she was speaking to him was way more than he deserved.
“I can feel your sincerity, and my wolf can too. You and I will not be best buddies immediately, I can assure you that. Remember that I held a grudge against the pack doctor of the full moon pack for years, but I’m willing to let this one slide. not for your sake, but for the good of all the packs. They need us to be a team so we can complete this quest and learn how we can protect ourselves from this so-called darkness.” Silver said to him.
“I’ll take your forgiveness any way I can get it.” Hayden said with a small smile.
They sat in silence for a few minutes just watching the ripples at the top of the lake as the breeze blew across it before Silver spoke again.
“You owe me a swim, you know.”
“I do?” Hayden asked with a bemused expression.
“When we were coming to your pack, your hostility started at the lake we passed on our way. You refused to swim with me and you were really rude.”
“Oh.” He said as he remembered the incident. “I’m sorry. I know it doesn’t mean much to you, but you’ll hear it for a while till I’ve apologised for everything I did.”
“Actions speak louder than words, don’t they?” She asked with a smirk as she stood.
“Last one in is a rotten egg!” She yelled as she began to run towards the lake.
“Hey! That’s cheating.” He yelled as he stood and ran after her.
She laughed right before she went from two legs to four legs in the blink of an eye. In her wolf form she was faster than most wolves.
“More cheating.” Hayden yelled as he transformed to his wolf too but he didn’t stand a chance. Silver leapt on all fours as she got to the bank of the lake and splashed into the water completely naked in human form. She submerged and laughed when she came back up then began to swim away from the bank as Hayden splashed in in human form.
“Catch me if you can, slow poke.” she yelled as she kept swimming away.
She heard the water behind her making splashing sounds as Hayden chased after her, but after a few minutes she could only hear the splashing sounds she was making as she moved through the water. She stopped swimming and looked around to discover that Hayden was nowhere to be found.
“Hayden!” she called but heard no response.
“HAYDEN!” she yelled with a panicky voice.
She began to swim back. What if the darkness had taken him because they took so long to mate?
“Hay… AAAHHH!!!” she started to call his name again, then screamed when cold hands wrapped around her middle from underneath the water.
“Calm down, it’s me.” Hayden chuckled as he pressed her back into his chest.
“You scared me, you silly male.” Silver turned and smacked his chest but he just laughed harder.
“It’s not funny, I thought the damned dark lady had gotten you.”
“She didn’t get me, but I got you.” He smirked.
“You cheated! I swam back to look for you and I was panicking, it made it easier for you to sneak up on me.” She said as she smacked his chest again.
“It’s not cheating if I win. And you’re not in the position to reprimand me. You cheated while we raced to the water, remember?” he said as he moved her wet, silver colored hair from her face and stared into her beautiful eyes that were almost the same shade as her hair and seemed to glow while he was this close to her.
Suddenly, they both realised that they were naked and their bodies were so close together. All the sexual tension they had both been feeling returned with full force. Hayden leaned into her like he was going to kiss her, then he changed his mind and tried to separate his body from hers but she pulled him closer.
“If you don’t kiss me right now, I might change my mind about kneeing you in the balls.” she said to him.
“I only stopped because I didn’t think you would want me to kiss you when I haven’t been completely forgiven.”
“Kiss me senseless and you may get your complete forgiveness.”
Hayden needed no further encouragement, he pulled her closer and slammed his lips on hers.
