Hayden stood up from his bed, and walked over to Silver’s room. He knocked on the door, and waited for her to open it, even though he really wanted to just kick down the door and stomp in.
Immediately she opened the door, he pushed her into the room and pinned her to the wall as he shut the door.
“What are you doing here?” She asked as he nuzzled her hair..
“I want you. I need you, Silver, please.” He whispered against her neck, then pulled back to kiss her. She was stiff for just a second before she melted in his arms, and kissed him back.
“Your scent drives me freaking crazy.” He growled against her lips as he picked her up and walked to the bed.
He lay her down and kissed her face, her neck, her shoulders.
“Please forgive me, Silver. I’m so sorry for how I treated you.”
“Then start appeasing me.” She reached down and cupped the bulge at the front of his pants. He groaned as she began to stroke him.
“Yes, Silver. Just like that.”
He closed his eyes, hips moving to thrust into her hand, when his eyes suddenly snapped open.
Hayden groaned with frustration as he realized that he had been dreaming. But he still felt the effects of it, he was hard and his erection made a tent in the sheets covering his lower half.
‘Need Mate.’ His wolf growled in his mind, and he groaned in response.
“She will cut off my balls if I even try and enter her room.” He rolled off the bed so he could go and take a cold shower.
The next morning when Silver came down for breakfast, everyone was already seated. She would have joined them on their morning run and training, but she didn’t feel up to it, and her body was still recovering. So no vigorous exercise or training yet.
The minute she stepped in to get her food, Hayden left his half eaten meal and walked out of the dining room.
‘He doesn’t want to be around us.’ Her wolf whined.
“Whatever.” She mumbled as she faced her breakfast..
When she was done, she went exploring, just walking around to check out the pack. Then she decided to talk to Hayden. She was directed to his office, and when she got there the door was closed. There were people in there with him, she could sense that, but she knocked anyway, not caring if she was interrupting a meeting.
“Come in.” Hayden’s gruff voice said.
“What do you want, Silver.” He asked as she sauntered into the office.
Beth was there, and so was Mara, and another wolf she didn’t recognize.
“A lot of things. I need a lot of things. I only came here with a small bag. You’re supposed to get me more stuff, but you haven’t said anything about it, so I’m here to remind you.”
Even though she hated asking him, and had told herself that she wouldn’t, she just wanted to get on his nerves if she could. Or just basically remind her of his presence especially since he was trying his best to avoid her.
“Okay. When we’re done here, Beth will show you the pack mall and…”
“No. I want to go to the closest human city. They’ll have a proper shopping complex. They may not have all the stuff I need here, and I want to get this over with.” Silver interrupted.
Hayden’s eyes flashed with the colour of his wolf, but it wasn’t because of her open defiance by interrupting him, but because of his concern for her safety. They all avoided humans as much as possible, even though humans were clueless about their existence.
“I don’t have time to waste on trivialities, following you around just to watch you shop.” Beth said with a scowl.
“Beth.” Hayden said with a low growl.
“Let her be.” Silver rolled her eyes.
“I don’t need her negativity around me, sucking the life out of the day. Mara, would you like to come with me?” Silver asked.
“Yes!” Mara said with a small squeal.
“I haven’t ever been to a human town or city. I’ve never had a reason to go before. Is it okay if I go with her, Alpha?” She asked Hayden.
Silver scowled at Hayden, making sure he knew that there would be trouble if he said no.
“Yes, Mara. You can go with her.”
“Thank you, Alpha Hayden.” She said with a smile.
“Both of you should be back by sundown.” He opened a drawer and brought out something.
“That’s my card, get anything you want.” He stretched his hand, and Mara took the card from him.
“Your personal card? That’s so sweet of you. Do you treat all your guests this way? Lovely hospitality.” Silver said with as much sarcasm as she could infuse into her tone just to spite him.
“We’re already done here, so Mara, you can go with her now.” Hayden said.
“Thanks, Alpha.” She said and stood.
“We’re going to have so much fun.” Silver said to Mara with a smile, as Mara held her hand.
Beth was furious as she watched them leave. She was beginning to suspect that there was something between their so called guest, and Hayden.
“So tell me Silver, have you been to a human city before?” Mara said as they stepped out of the pack house.
“A few times.” She replied to Mara.
“What was it like?”
“The cities are crowded, and congested. And it’s polluted. I wonder how they even survive there. The towns are less populated, and cleaner than the cities. But, the cities have more fun places to visit.”
“There’s a human city a few hours from here. I may not have the chance to leave the pack again after today, thank you for asking me to come with you.”
“You’re not being locked up here, you can go whenever you want.”
“I don’t like to leave the pack. And Alpha Hayden doesn’t like us leaving either, for safety and security reasons.”
“That’s understandable. But, at least once in a while. As long as you follow the rules, and don’t expose your wolf to humans, all’s good.”
