It was indeed Lucas.
Lucas responded and then asked, “Why are you here?”
Marshall didn’t answer and went over.
There was actually nothing in this bamboo forest, not even a place to sit.
Lucas was standing in a clearing, looking at the direction of the Grant family.
The terrain of this place was a little higher, so the view was not bad. They could see the layout of the entire villa of the Grant family.
At night, the lights in the villa were on. The villa’s floor area was really not small if it was seen this way.
Marshall stood beside Lucas, “I didn’t expect you to be here.”
Lucas thought for a while, “I come out for a walk after eating.”
“Oh,” Marshall replied, turned off the light of the phone, and put his hands in his pockets.
After two seconds, Marshall took the initiative to mention the last thing, “You asked me a question in the office that day. I could actually read your lips.”
Lucas was not embarrassed, “Oh? I’m just curious.”
Marshall laughed, “I don’t know exactly what you mean by ‘regret’. Regret getting divorced or regret keeping the divorce secret?”
He paused and then said, “But no matter which one you meant, my answer is actually the same. I don’t regret it, and there is nothing to regret.”
He never thought about other things when he did things. It was really no use regretting something.
If he had time to think about it, he might as well spend his energy to think about what was more beneficial to the current situation.
Lucas smiled silently. His expression flashed away, so Marshall didn’t see it in the night.
Lucas said, “Okay, it’s good that you don’t regret it.”
Looking in the direction of the Grant family’s villa, Marshall repeated, not knowing whether he emphasized it to Lucas or himself, “I don’t regret it. I never regret it.”
This topic passed, and there was a pause for nearly a minute in the middle.
Then Lucas changed the topic, “I heard that you went to receive Martin at noon.”
Marshall said, “I’ve met him before, so I’m kinda familiar with him. My dad had something to take care of at noon, so I went to receive him.”
Lucas seemed to sigh, “I heard that Martin is not a nice guy. Many people who have been in contact with him don’t like him very much.”
Marshall laughed. He didn’t care, “Actually, I don’t have much contact with him. We just talk about cooperation. And I don’t care much about anything else. We only value work and efficiency, don’t we?”
Lucas nodded, “Yes.”
After chatting for a while like this, they kept silent again.
Two minutes later, Lucas checked the time, “It’s getting late. I’ll go back first.”
Marshall said, “I want to stay a little longer. You go first.”
Lucas nodded at him and then slowly walked along the path towards the outside.
Marshall looked at Lucas’ back until he was completely melted into the night, and then he held his expression.
He looked around for a while, ‘Katherine probably came to here last time.’
He put his hand in his pocket and held the phone. After a while, he took the phone out and called Peter.
Peter answered the phone quickly, knowing what Marshall would ask, “Boss, don’t worry. Martin is very honest now, and he will be very honest next.”
Marshal said, “Okay, where is Kyra Green?”
“Miss Green left after finishing the task. She was happy when she left. Boss, where did you find such a person? Cool.”
Marshall laughed and didn’t answer, but said, “Well, keep an eye on Martin. If he doesn’t make trouble these two days, then nothing bad will happen.”
“Got it,” said Peter. He still wanted to ask something, but Marshall just hung up the phone.
Marshall took a deep breath and then slowly walked towards the villa.
When he returned to the main building, the servants had already cleaned up and returned to the room for rest.
Marshall walked upstairs a few steps, but after thinking for a moment, he went downstairs and then went upstairs with a bottle of red wine.
He didn’t sleep well these two days, so he needed red wine to help sleep.
Just as Marshall reached the second floor with a bottle of red wine, he saw Frances standing at the door of his room.
Frances stood at the door of his room in her pajamas, with her head hanging down, looking a little tangled.
Marshall slowly got closer, “Mom, why are you standing here?”
Frances was taken aback by Marshall and ducked aside, “You, you are not in the room?”
Marshall opened the door and walked in first, “I went out just now. What’s up?”
Frances followed in and hesitated for a long time, not knowing what to say about this matter.
Marshall took the wine opener to open the red wine, poured a glass of wine, and placed it on the bedside table. Then he looked back at Frances, “Is it because Grandma asked you to divorce my dad?”
Frances looked at Marshall, “You know it. Marshall, I’m your mother. How can you watch me divorce your dad? You must step out and stop it. You should help me.”
Marshall let out a sigh of relief, “How can I help you? How can I persuade Grandma?”
Frances hurried over and sat on the side of the bed, “You mustn’t let your dad divorce me. It will be a shame if that comes out. Is divorce a glorious thing ?”
Marshall laughed, “Didn’t you spread the news about my divorce?”
Frances opened her mouth and needed quite a while to say weakly, “How can it be the same?”
Marshall raised his eyebrows, “What is the difference? If you didn’t send the message directly to the Henderson family, our family would not be so passive today. If you can discuss with us first before you make any decisions, Grandma would not be that angry. Mom, our whole family is of a mind, except for you.”
Frances frowned, opened her mouth, and wanted to refute, but she couldn’t say anything.
Marshall felt a little helpless, “Don’t worry. After my dad divorces you, he won’t find other women in two or three years, so you still have a chance. If you can change your temper, you should be able to come back. But if you can’t change your temper and you don’t divorce him this time, my dad may file for a divorce by himself next time.”
Frances stood up, a little angry, “Are you my son? How can you not help me at all? You don’t even want your mom, right?”
Marshall looked at Frances, “Let’s talk calmly. I’m a little tired now, so I don’t want to argue.”
His expression was very flat, “Mom, whatever you do, you should consider the consequences first. Take this matter as an example. Let’s not talk about Katherine’s results after being calculated by you. We just talk about you. Do you think she will let you go? If you are involved, the Grant family will definitely be involved, let alone the company. So have you ever thought about the results you have to face after a series of chain reactions?”
Frances opened her mouth, amazed. She naturally hadn’t thought about it.
She could not consider such things. She didn’t think about them before, nor did she now.
Marshall lifted the corners of his mouth, “Do you know why Grandma is angry? That’s because you almost put the Grant family in a passive situation, and almost made the Grant family take the blame for you.”
Frances blinked and looked at Marshall, no response for half a day.
But judging from her expression, it seemed that she finally realized what trouble she had made.
Marshall came over and put his hand on her shoulder, “You need to have a good conversation with my dad about this matter. After all, it is your marriage, and none of us has the say.”
This sentence, like a slap, hit her face fiercely.
